It had been a week before the bullies who had often attacked Cada had gotten better. After they'd come down with an illness after their last encounter with him, each one had silently vowed to pay the dust child back for his trespasses. Today was the day for payback as the group of four went in search of the young child.
Said child was at the outskirts of Whi forest playing with his familiar Femka and the ever trusty Mr. Happy. They were at a small brook with fish flitting about in the shallow waters. Removing his hoody, shirt and shoes along with rolling up his pant leg, Cada had dipped into the crisp cool waters in hopes of capturing the silly fish. They darted about out of his reach knowing the child wouldn't catch them but almost as if it were a fun game for them as well. Cada's peels of laughter filled the area as the boys were just coming up past the town clearing.
Listening for the laughter again they all smirked knowingly to their selves and hurried at a run to catch up to the dust child. Again Cada let out a squeal as a fish flipped from his hand at being caught. It darted back into the water and skipped away out of reach. "Awww... look boys the poor kid lost his catch for the day. Maybe we should help him out." The lead began as he stepped into the clearing. Cada instantly went for his things clutching them to him as he began walking away. "What's wrong you can't say hello to old friends. Aren't you glad to see where okay?"
Cada didn't respond always going silent when these boys were around. They circled him as was usual. One boy pushing him toward the stream. The other grabbing his things and tossing them in the water. Thankfully the stream was low today so his cloths only got wet rather than being carried by the current. Again his favorite toy became the object of attack as they pulled at the tattered bear ripping its limbs off and tossing it somewhere near the forest. "Look I got it's head!" the leader shouted.
Cada jumped up instantly clawing at the leader for his toy's head. But he was held back by the rest of the boys. "You didn't think we'd forget about you. Just cause you got some strange abilities. Go ahead and use them on us again... we'll just come back again and again until you learn." With Mr. Happy's head in the boy's hand he tossed it deep into the forest cackling the whole time.
"We got something for you sick boy..." The lead pulled out a lighter laughing as his friends held Cada down. "Lets see how you like getting burned. We got powers too maybe not as cool as breathing on us but we'll get you back." Cada watched in horror as the other child looked on him with malice. He never known a kid to be so mean. Still he said nothing as the boy lit the end of his pants waiting for the fabric to catch fire before his friends let him go. The each took turns kicking him as he curled into a ball trying to kick at the fire but it would not let out and the more they kicked at him the less time he had to pat away the flames.

Hymn had an old journal in his hands as he walked the familiar paths of Whi Forest. The forest echoed with chirps and snarls as animals went on fulfilling the chain of life all throughout. Listening to the bird sing he soon chimed in singing calmly to the delicate creatures. Looking down at the tattered journal he ripped out page after page stuffing them in his bag he held. Grunting as the pages were hard to tear out he slipped his right foot sliding a bit almost causing him to fall backward against the forest floor.
Grunting again in displeasure he looked down seeing a torn arm of the unknowingly familiar bear he had seen not to long ago. Reaching forward he picked it up ready to stuff it in his bag as to get rid of the litter in the forest before he froze. On the arm of the bear was written in lettering..
'Cadaver'
Staring he began to speak stumbling over the same "Ca." sound over and over again. Standing up he looked around finding a leg not to far away. Picking it up as well he looked around hastily searching for Mr. Happy. His face became scrunched up as he continued collecting small pieces of fluff till finally he found the head. Noticing he had everything he needed he stuffed them into his bag which now puffed out a little and cowered the edge of the forest. Seeing a group of kids he listened intently.
A cry! As his heart overtook any sense of safety he ran out almost tripping over Cada as he did so. Kneeling down he noticed the flaming ends of Cada's pants. Waving his arm silently a slip of water flowed out of the stream licking the ends of his pants putting out the small flame. Looking at the entry he lowered down and kissed the boy's lips before turning his head up.
All sense of reasoning had long left him. As his faced crunched up in anger for the first time ever, and not knowing the feeling he followed his mind and ran. Taking a leap toward the older of the two, about his age, he rose a fist and swung knocking the other aside the chin sending him stumbling a streak of water to the face following. Only able to control his powers a little he had no idea it would hit him there but he didn't care.

The oldest of the group was in fact a teen. With no parents to watch him like they should he got into a lot of trouble. Currently his latest trouble was picking on a young dust child such as Cada. The young dust curled into a ball only barely registered the fire being put out with water. Blinking he looked up in time to find lips on his before they were gone.
Sitting up he saw Hymn as he decked the other kid. Blinking again he quickly stood to his feet rushing to the other dust to hold him back. "No no... fighting is bad." He informed despite the attacks on him he didn't like to see other's fighting. Seeing Hymn so upset also scared him when he'd only seen the older dust be so kind and gentle.
The teen bully had been planted firmly on his butt with that punch. Holding his nose in his hand he glared at the other man. "You suppose to be his friend or something... freaks." He spat. "Get them... don't need freaks like you around here." The boy shouted and his three friends began circling the two dusts, Cada looked to Hymn frantically. "Lets just go we don't have to fight them. There mommy's didn't teach them any better so they don't know. We can just leave."
One of the boys reached yanking Cada by the hair to drag him away. "You aint going no where. And since your friend wants to tag along he can get the same treatment." The lead snarled standing over Cada still rubbing his nose. "Freaks all of you... should go back where you came. We don't need you here."

Never before had Hymn actually been as outraged as this. Taking his hands he stared as the other boys began encircling them moving slowly like they were his prey, it was in fact the other way around. Grabbing Cada and pushing the other boy easily off of him he smiled, they weren't strong. Only their words and the leader was. Pathetic.
Looking down at Cada he kissed the other fully in public on the lips for a second. A few other people looked on as the events unfolded but did nothing. Hymn spat a little as all of the group started moving forward. With a snatch of his hand he felt the beads of sweat star moving around and again water came from the stream but this time in greater amounts.
It started as a small ball and expanded around Hymn and Cada pushing the other boys away before exploding in their faces. It might sting but no real damage was done. His face returned to normal as he wrapped his arms quickly around Cada. "I..I'm sorry.." he stumbled grabbing the other "I don't want to let go.." Hymn whispered this in his ear, looking up though he found himself staring at a man who stared as equally back in Cada in surprise.

Cada stifled his protests at the soft lips on his own, clutching Hymn's shirt he was momentarily stunned. In front of the boys it was embarassing but in the back of his mind he didn't mind so much. Rather than push away he held tight wanting this whole thing to end. He didn't like seeing Hymn so upset and if a kiss calmed him then it was okay... right?
As he let go, Cada clung to the older Dust watching the happenings take place around him. He didn't like fighting and just wished the other boys would leave. Someone would get hurt if they kept this up. But with Hymn's need to protect Cada the boys would simply have to learn the hard way.
It wasn't enough that they'd gotten sick because of Cada's accidental use of his abilities now they had to go and pick on him again and catch hell from an older dust who was better at using his abilities.
The boys were pushed away by this time, the water exploding in their faces startled them more but it did cause mild pain which was inflicted on the leader most. He tumbled to he's butt curling up. Cada's head was buried in the other dust's shirt as he waited for the tension to ease. When it did he ventured a look around glad at the retreating forms of the boys. A man stood in the distance staring at the two of them but Cada had not seen him and when he looked to where Hymn was focused the man was no longer there. "Hymn?" He questioned the other, "Let's go before they come back."

Hymn felt Cada not let go of him and smiled, it was unfolding. "Alright, lets," he suggested and he took Cada's hand and walked away. Walking back into Whi forest he pulled out Mr. Happy and began sewing him up using one hand and his mouth to do so. As he stitched the bear he smiled at Cada. Concentrating though he managed to finish, it was easy since a lot of the bear was majorly in tact. Taking the needle he added his name below Cadas with a plus sign in between them. Wondering if he would notice.
When the arrived at the open space again Hymn heaved a sigh stopping and looking around. Just like normal. Turning he faced Cada giving the little bear back to him, but first he kissed the bear too. Seeing the familiar finally find them all again he watched it zoom about happy as everything turned out right. "I'm sorry...you had to see that..."

Cada was still a little shaken by the incident hoping the bullies would just give up and go away. He felt there would be another encounter but hoped it wouldn't cause a commotion like before. Maybe if he talked to them they would listen and understand that it was better to be friends. He liked making new friends more than enemies...
Watching Hymn Cada had remained in close proximity of the other as he pulled out pieces of Mr. Happy. A slow smile came to his lips as his eyes sparkled. His toy would be okay and as the y got to the clearing the toy was mended as good as new. He quickly took hold of his toy squeezing it lovingly as he giggled with delight. "Mr. Happy says thank you. He's really glad you put him back together." Cada informed.
At Hymn's apology, Cada shook his head a solemn expression on his face. "It's okay. They were bad people and should be punished.. but I don't like seeing Hymn upset. I like him better when he's smiling and when he sings for me." At that he looked up to the other with a soft caress of his fingers to his cheek. "Will you sing for me, Hymn. It will make me feel better, I'm still a little scared."

Hymn perked up at Cada's happiness about Mr. Happy being fixed. Smiling at the thought of Mr. Happy speaking he walked with Cada. The notion about singing knowingly slipped in just as they started. Raising his left hand to his head he stretched it than lowered it in the same motion. A song was hard to strike up with all the noise, but taking a seat by the stream that ran through the cleaning he started one up.
"Tale as old as time..." he began, it was a song he had seen in a storybook he had read. As the song went on the chirping mellowed out as the forest itself became entwined by the voice. Hymn leaned up against Cada as they sat, and with the next line he kissed him on the lips again. Not letting go.
"Beauty and the Beast.."

Cada sighed wistfully always enjoying the soft melody from his friend. He still enjoyed the kisses and hugs he got, always making him feel warm and...loved? Tilting his head back he watched the other carefully trying to understand their last meetings conversations.
It was hard for a young dust to understand but he had decided not to worry so much. Hymn was kind and gentle, he seemed like a patient person which was refreshing considering Cada's guardian was a bit high strung especially when he was in a drunken stupor. Cheeks flushed at the kiss, the way Hymn held on.

Hymn wishing this moment could last broke the kiss and smiled at Cada before returning to sitting up. "I put a present on one of the arms of your bear.." Hymn said shelling off his shoes and chucking them aside as he slid too off his shirt and jumped in the creek. It was about three to four foot deep where he was so he knew Cada could survive. This section too was cut off from the river, only a little section of the creek flowed into it.
Sort of like a hot tub. Extending a hand to Cada he invited him in. It would be nice to have someone to talk to today, since Sojo was no where to be found as of lately.

Cada inspected his toy, noting the extra named under his with a plus sign. Ah... so they were close friends. He smiled only getting half of the understanding though in the back of him mind he had a pretty good idea the true meaning. With a smile he hugged Mr. Happy to him watching Hymn as he entered the water.
Setting Mr. Happy safely on the banks he stood hesitant for a moment. Already his shirt had been removed from his first dip when playing with the fish. Stepping closer he reached his hand to Hymn's looking up to the older dust silently.

Watching Cada's hesitance he looked for a moment at the warm skin that touched his own. The blood rushed through his own body making his skin warmer at touch so Cada wouldn't feel threatened. Moving in the water he helped the younger dust in, sitting him on his lap as he did so. The water itself was warm and foggy from the steam that stayed below. Steam rose in the one area where it felt intrusion, the water source.
Hymn hadn't a clue how the water stayed warm like it did, but for now his mind didn't venture to that questioning area. Placing his hands around Cada's waist he hugged him finding their heads came to about the same level here. Perfection was one thing Hymn never admired as he himself wasn't perfect, and if they weren't a perfect couple, his mind wouldn't judge it. Slipping a hand up and down Cada's stomach area he felt the other dust sort of tense up, slowing a little he hoped Cada would relax.
Using the other hand he soaked his hair with the water and placed his head to Cada's back his warm lips touching the spine. Closing his eyes, his mind softened as the mood itself relaxed. The wind danced around them chilling their bones every few minutes, but Hymn stayed silent and unmoving.

"Hymn..." Cada puffed out, his voice barely above a whisper as the other ran his hand along his stomach. He tensed instantly at this but managed to calm himself as the water began to warm the two of them. The kiss to his neck and spine sent a shiver down his back. He twisted slightly in Hymn's arms looking to the other with bright yellow-green eyes. He had no words, simply watching the older dust.

Hymn's arms shot down in fear that Cada was scared in some sort of way. As tear's filled up the brims of his eyes Hymn managed to wipe them away. The thoughts in his head were the worst, he feared that Cada would hate him. As his arms seemed to be glued to his side he kept his face down in fear of what his mind thought.

Cada watched Hymn closely now noting the slight tears in his eyes. He reached up to pat his cheek carefully a smile sliding broadly along his face. "Why are you sad?" He asked innocently. It was a pretty day, the water was warm and he got to play with a close friend. Why would anyone be sad over that, Cada couldn't understand.
