Kate-Lyne walked in to the Gryffindor Common room and noticed some of her fellow house mates sitting near the fire place... she took a seat on the over stuffed couch directly in front of the fire place... their was a red haired girl on the ther end of the couch.... She had gotten to know the girl a bit on the train ride to Hogwarts in their first year, and their friendship d grown over the years... it was ovious that the two girls had a crush on each other since their first year.... but had never acted on it.. they were best friends... and Kate-Lynne didn't want that to change..
"Hey," Katte-Lynne greted the red haired girl, "How did your day go?"
Kate-Lynne tightened the scarf around her neck, it was an unusually chilly fall evening... and even in front of the fire she could feel a breeze....
She looked around and noticed the open window on the other side of the common room... and shook her head...
"Has that window been open all day?"
