Beautiful, clear blue eyes slowly revealed themselves from a sleepy, dazed state, as the wind played gently across scarred cheeks. Soft, bright silken blond locks danced with the playing breeze as he lifted himself up , yawning. Shaking his head, he glanced around, trying to figure out what had happened recently. He was fighting and... he was fighting... and... why couldn't he remember? It was then he realized... he wasn't a human. What happened? Blinking rapidly in confusion, he realized he was still himself, but not himself... Naruto stared at the fox who had suddenly appeared before him, who was staring back at him.
"Hn... you seem to have completely lost your memory... no surprise, Naruto, since you've always been stupid anyway," came the grunted voice of the dark orange fox. "You're a horse now, idiot. And no, it's not a dream."
"Kyuubi!" he finally spoke, and then blinked when it came out as a kind of horse-like sound. "Eh...?" Well, Kyuubi's voice wasn't echoing in his head (how did he know that?) and since... for some reason, his head was telling him this fox's name was Kyuubi... oh well, whatever. "Where are we?"
Ah, an intelligent question for once, he thought. "We're in a place that's different from where we came from. You can say... we're sort of visiting?" Kyuubi grinned maliciously. Oh, this was going to be fun...

Days had stretched to months then time paused as the stallion kept searching for something that was missing. Powerful wings that carried him flexed and moved as a fan, easy and flowing as feathers swept the sky. His deep eyes of onyx constantly seeking that missing piece. Something was out of place and he was determined to locate it at no cost.
A wolf had approached him one day seemingly knowing who he was...
"Your name is Sasuke and I am your eyes, "the canine had spoken with a hard gaze where eyes lingered in a freaky red design back at the tall stallion. Smirking the wolf nodded to the other's shock, "I am Sharingan..."
"Sasuke," He repeated the name within his mind with much clarity so as not to forget. Now this creature's name is Sharingan. Why did that name seem so familiar Sasuke thought to himself.
Then the memory faded and Sasuke was alone to his thoughts as he cut through the air once more. Silence if only the sound of the wind haunted him. Was it true a long time ago in a dream that he himself was another creature in another lifetime the stallion pondered. A great battle had ensued and he was cast into darkness till now. A void that seemed open like a wound, always there to taunt and create contemplations as to who he was.
Pulling his wings outward he descended toward the ground with wandering eyes. That wolf had to be somewhere and Sasuke was eager to find him. Pitch darkness with a gaze that lingered long after, burning in one's mind. Sharingan seemed almost familiar somehow as Sasuke sought this illusive wolf.
Finally touching upon the ground the stallion firmly placed his onyx hooves firmly within the dirt. It felt quite good actually as he stood there scanning the area. There was another that filled his mind with blanks from that other time, but Sasuke was unsure whom it was. He just remembered the great fight was linked to this mysterious individual he was fated to meet once again some day.
Shaking his head Sasuke decided the first thing he'd do was search for fresh water. Being the first and foremost priority, he was concerned that his welfare was more important than merely seeking that missing piece.
There was plenty of time to ponder that faded memory...
As he found a suited water source Sasuke stood there staring at himself once again as visions played out like cinematic scenes. He noted the mark upon his shoulder, that of a red and white image that burned his subconsciousness like a vivid wake up call. But the stallion still had no recollection of who he truly was.
"Who am I really? Was does this soul yearn to set things right toward something that happened in my past. Why can't I remember?!" He stood gazing for a long time fighting with himself once again internally as to why he existed in the first place. What had he come to this place to find, and what was it he would accomplish when he did find it after all?
Shaking his head he craned downward and purposely distorted his image while getting a drink. He'd find that piece soon and when he did the memories would crash within his mind like a raging Tsunami.
This the angeni stallion that was called Sasuke knew deep within himself.

He had noticed right away that they had company when both he and Naruto arrived at the sparkling lake that glittered brightly under the burning sun. It would figure that of all the Soquili Naruto would meet, it had to be that guy! However, if that guy lost his memory like Naruto did, then perhaps there wouldn't be a problem if Naruto just drank a little bit of water and then they both moved on... Kyuubi also prayed Naruto didn't notice that guy.
The lake was so shiny and glittery and pretty that it had distracted Naruto enough so that he didn't notice he had company (aside from Kyuubi). Bending down to taste the delicious water, he gulped cheerfully before he looked at Kyuubi, the question having burned in his mind for a long time. "Hey, Kyu... You never answered me earlier. Where are we, man?" He looked up at the blue, blue sky that match the awesome colors of his eyes, though one could say that the deep blue color of his eyes outmatch the sky itself.
Kyuubi shrugged, drinking a touch of water himself. Even in separate bodies he found he was unable to escape Naruto, and he was awed and disgusted to find he was attached to the kit, even when he now had the chance to escape and leave the idiot alone. "I thought I already told you, Naruto," he answered calmly. "But like always, you weren't paying attention and you repeat your question. You're a horse, Naruto. That should be the first clue!" He side-glanced at that guy to make sure he hadn't yet noticed them. He had to hurry and get Naruto away; after that battle, which was probably why Naruto had been dazed when he first woke up, Kyuubi found himself wishing for Naruto to go through this life without having to suffer terrible memories of his past... but it looked like he would have to deal with that guy first... That guy always seemed to be around no matter what!
He laughed, slightly guiltily. "Ah, sorry, Kyuubi, it's just weird that I only remember bits and pieces from before... besides you and my name, the only thing I remember is Sasuke," he finished cheerfully. "But I don't know why. I guess it was really important to me or something, whatever this Sasuke was, or maybe it's a someone, so maybe he was important. Haha!" He then turned to take another drink--the water was really, really good!!--not even once noticing the majestic Angeni not a little too far away. Perhaps he was just that dense and thick-headed, or Naruto was just being Naruto... or maybe it was probably both, but then, why would he really care? This place felt calm and free and peaceful, and it seemed he wouldn't have to fight anymore... why had he been fighting in the first place anyway? Ah, well.
He shook his head. "It doesn't matter, Naruto. Why are you taking so long to get a drink? I want to get out of here! There's a place I'd like to go but I can't go anywhere without you, you know!" Damn, that guy had probably noticed them by now! Naruto had spoken a lot louder than Kyuubi had anticipated (why was he such a loud mouth~!?) and now he continuously side-glanced the other stallion who had probably seen them both by now.

The quietness was definitely a plus as the wind pushed gently through his mane letting it linger in strands then fall downwards once more. Ebony black within the darkness that swirled around him like void his thoughts were traveling like a fast moving battle.
Moving slowly then forced to descend like the wind he fought for what he believed in. Strong. So strong the other was he gritted his teeth in frustration. Calling upon the ultimate power to break and sever something that was a part of him. He'd do anything to win, even if it meant killing the other... yet if he did that then his brother's foolish words would have been right. No. he would never kill his best friend though he longed to to rid himself of that lingering warmth he so stubbornly wanted rid of. No matter what the cost he would sever that bond and would be free to leave. Flying with power that enveloped his entire being, he moved against his target determined to finally win.
"Naruto." A voice in his mind echoed with clarity causing him to remember.
Coming to the stallion turned his head over to notice the strangely familiar stallion that looked very much like the one from those painful distorted images that flitted endlessly within his mind. blonde hair, bright blue eyes, an annoyance from his deepest nightmare. Snorting he narrowed orbs of obsidian toward the other noticing the smaller creature by his side.
"Naruto," he said it with a deep yet sensuous voice letting the name sink within and stay put as it lingered upon his tongue. He was a bit confused and yet this other stallion was reminding him of that time, that other life that brought him pain.
Uzamaki Naruto... Saaaa Baka." he muttered to himself still glaring as his wings brushed around him followed by a stamp of his hoof soon after. Upon hearing the other speak his name, Sasuke's eyes widened.
"It is you Naruto isn't it? You couldn't let me leave could you?" the stallion announced finally with an irritated deep tone. His eyes becoming more angered at the sight of something he was sure the bonds were severed with. Uzamaki Naruto, yes his name was clear as was the visions that stormed the angeni's mind like a washing of a Tsunami. He'd found Sasuke finally but as a horse? Funny that Sasuke had thought himself a man once in a dream himself, but looking in the crystalline blue before him he saw a horse as well feathered in huge wings that draped upon his back. Yet he was wearing the same thing from his dreams, and his hair was the same. Could it be that Sasuke was reborn as a horse? That was crazy and unheard of in the stallion's mind.
Deciding the only thing he could do he approached the Duo looking quite smug with a victorious smirk. If Naruto didn't remember him this was icing on the cake. Losing his memory was as good as a disconnected bond in Sasuke's eyes. Clearing his throat he stopped around two feet from them and spoke, "Oi Naru. I told you not to follow me and yet you seem to have forgotten who you are. Heh I finally did sever that bond."
His eyes flickered with a happiness yet sadness seeped through feeling as if he had lost his best friend through all this time.

His fur bristled as he glowered at the approaching stallion--damn him!--and quickly glanced up to see Naruto staring at the other with a blank expression. s**t! Does he remember!? Kyuubi did not wish for Naruto to remember his painful past, but at the same time, that meant... Ah, s**t. I knew it. He cursed vehemently within his mind as he snarled softly, a silent warning to the Uchiha to stay as far away as he possible could from Naruto.
The familiar sound of a voice he had always heard triggered his thoughts, thrusting them into a whirlwind of nonsensical memories that flickered back and forth. He could not make out any understanding of any of them, and this frustrated him. The same voice continued to speak, and as such... the name Uchiha Sasuke kept pounding in his head, over and over, until he wanted to scream with the pain it was giving him. Shaking himself loose when he heard Kyuubi snarl, Naruto's blue eyes focused on the stallion who had suddenly appeared... and somehow, the stallion knew who he was!? "Hi... what?" The other stallion's words had just registered completely within his head, and he immediately backed away. "No..." he muttered. His head was aching enough as it was.
In retaliation, he looked up with a fierce glare at the tone used against him. "What the hell? I didn't follow you, Sasuke! It was probably the other way... around..." Naruto stared hard and then swallowed the lump that had appeared in his throat. "Sa... Sasuke... is that... really you?" Sasuke... Uchiha Sasuke... it was no wonder that name still lingered in his mind! Sasuke, his rival, his brother, his best friend... of course! Naruto smirked, knowing that now his memories (or at least the better and worst half of them) proved that Sasuke hadn't severed their bond... he never would be able to. Naruto wouldn't allow it to happen--ever. "b*****d! You killed me and then I get reincarnated into a horse!" He snapped. "Like I could forget that stupid arrogant smirk of yours! And like hell I would let you leave!"
He snorted, shooting Sasuke's final words down the drain. "The bond you supposedly severed is still here! Even if I don't remember much besides that I think we used to be human, you can't ever get rid of me!" He laughed triumphantly and then sighed. "But why the hell do you get to have wings and I don't? Why are you..." Always better than me and getting all the better stuff!? Life is totally unfair, man, even when I reincarnated! Argh! It hadn't occurred to Naruto that he knew he had been reincarnated, nor did he realize that he only remembered a small trace of his old self.
Damn, Naruto remembered the annoying Uchiha. Well, of course he would; Sasuke had made a huge impact in Naruto's life, and Kyuubi thought it would be remarkable if Naruto had forgotten about him. But to see that the two were reacting to each other the same they had always reacted to each other, Kyuubi swore it was practically nostalgic in its own way... terribly so. His red flickered for a mere tenth of a second with concern as he glanced at his "master," and then his glared that had been trained towards the Uchiha became fiercer. So, Sasuke had killed them (Kyuubi referring to when he had been trapped inside Naruto's stomach) and they had been sent here for whatever God knew what, and then God sent Sasuke right after them?
But, as Kyuubi thought about it, Sasuke hadn't appeared before them until now... and it had been about a month and a half, meaning Sasuke had been killed a bit later after they had been killed... what in the world was going on? Kyuubi had memories of everything the two stallions could only have traces of, and this, in its own way, bothered him more than Naruto's suffering. He felt no remorse or guilt for causing Naruto's life to be so crappy, but he did feel that the things that happened to Naruto were his fault... so could take the blame and cruelty, but he would never regret it... and yes, he did feel guilty after all... how ironic. "Naruto..." he muttered.

The stallion hesitated hearing that familiar sarcasm, cursing silently beneath his bated breath. Even in this afterlife Naruto the knucklehead ninja was still annoying as hell in his responses. Sasuke remembered this was his rival, the next Hokage of Konoha as he always uttered like the idiot he was. Perhaps someday that was his destiny but it was none of Sasuke's concern. Seems that little companion reminded the stallion of the missing black canine that had approached him not long ago then simply vanished.
"Your name is Sasuke and I am your eyes, "the canine had spoken with a hard gaze where eyes lingered in a freaky red design back at the tall stallion. Smirking the wolf nodded to the other's shock, "I am Sharingan..."
Just who the hell was Sharingan anyway? Why did he have those familiar eyes that Sasuke remembered now firmly within his mind. He smirked and frowned simultaneously at the mere thought that this wolf that had spoken was truly "his eyes". Just what the hell was happening to him in this life Sasuke wondered. His eyes, the precious family heritage was running around on four legs? This was just too hard to even ponder let along try and contemplate how such a thing actually was conceivable.
"Heh and here I thought your pitiful brain couldn't remember me. I'm impressed Naruto." His gaze hard and full of contempt sized up the other with much speculation as to why he too was a horse. Things just didn't make sense once the darkness had overcome him. Was he truly dead and reincarnated as this beast of burden? Flaring out his large wings he stared at them for a bit still trying to remember just why things had appeared one day, mainly his soul in this place of unrest. Narrowing his gaze he thought on something else, a darkness that was seeping over his heart with much pain.
"Where is Itachi Naruto?!" his eyes flickering yet nothing of the mirror eye wheel known as Sharingan precious to the Uchiha clan activated for him. Disgruntled he placed his wings closely against him and stepped a bit closer narrowing his eyes at the smaller form of what was thought to be Kyuubi; the nine tailed fox.
"Why are we like this?" he directed toward the fox, "I know I was human once and so was Naruto. Why are we in the form of horses and..." He paused gritting his teeth till they rasped upon one another. "Why has my Sharingan got up and taken to walk on it own?" He wanted answers from this trickster whom seemed to know him right off the bat, just like the black wolf bearing his clan's symbol.
He was frustrated and angered that he was reduced to this now. Hell maybe Itachi had throughly killed him and stolen those precious eyes for all he knew. But then it was quite a predicament knowing your eyes had a mind of their own. He felt powerless in this form as it was impossible to do jutsu without the proper formations and correct timing.
Were they both powerless as they were he wondered.
Snapping back to reality he smirked in his usual cocky sense toward Naruto, "Yes its me Baka. Why you couldn't tell?" he laughed with sarcasm feeling quite out of place as a very large equine right now. Raising his head he moved in closer with a feathery swish of his long tail that flicked upward of shining onyx colored hair, then in a cascade fell downward.
He sighed looking around then, a subtle flick of his keen ears. "I don't know why we're here now as this "form" but there's a reason to it I suppose. Not that I care anything more about it though." he commented with much doubt in his voice. He truly was spooked and unnerved that this was his destiny now. Maybe he had killed Itachi after all and could finally live his days in peace. Peace, the word was never truth, mainly fiction with lies intertwined like roving snakes.
He really didn't know why or where, just the missing puzzle was slowly coming together. Though Sasuke would never openly admit that Naruto was what he sought besides that traitorous murderer of a brother. A past that slowly was rewinding itself with all the hurt and pain presented itself once more.
Sasuke knew somehow things would finally adjust themselves, for now he just needed to deal with it.

"Shut up, b*****d," he sneered, hurt that Sasuke would think he'd forget about him. How could he forget his best friend... his brother... his rival? No way in Heaven or Hell; Sasuke was engrained too deeply inside his mind, as deeply as Kyuubi once was before the fox had, somehow, escaped the seal. "I'm surprised you even thought to remember me, Sasuke, since you seem to think I'm not worth it at all, Mr. I'm-the-Best-at-Everything-Possible." Sasuke was annoying; he hated him and liked him, admired him and wanted to kill him all at once. How could a person--er, stallion--cause such conflicting feelings!?
"What the hell, b*****d?! Like I would know where Itachi is! Why do you think I would know?!" The last thing Naruto recalled having any involvement with the older Uchiha had been when he was almost kidnapped for Kyuubi's power. That had been before the grand fight he had had with Sasuke, just before everything went black... he couldn't remember anything else at all. It was painful, especially since he had blotches and patches of memories that had nothing to do with the other. He narroed his eyes at Sasuke, realizing he was being ignored in order for Kyuubi to be questioned. Damned. b*****d. Uchiha.
Kyuubi smirked, knowing the Uchiha was frustrated, wondering how this life had come to be. He shrugged, remaining silent, although he was most certainly laughing at Sasuke. "...Sharingan up and walked away? Ah, so you have lost the power in your eyes... you have lost your bloodline limit, I presume?" he questioned, grinning wickedly from ear to ear. He knew about Sharingan, but only vaguely. The eyes that inhabited that body of a wolf had probably taken over the mind of the poor creature, rendering a personality, naming itself "Sharingan" (more than likely). This was merely a guess and a theory, but he'd have to say that was the most logical way of how it came about.
"I know it's you!" he retorted. "Seriously, I should leave right now and forget about you. After this, we won't meet again, Sasuke." His tone was dead seroius and his eyes a dark shade of blue. Though it pained him to leave Sasuke he was through. He was tired. Naruto never gave up, and he hadn't yet given up, but that didn't mean he didn't know how. There were times that it worked and exhausted him to the point where he felt he should just forget about it all. Now was the time for it. Naruto had yet to realize that perhaps this was his chance to convince Sasuke to stop his silly revenge, but what was the point of that when Itachi was the goal?
The older Uchiha had engrained revenge far too deeply inside Sasuke; it had shut everything and everyone else out, and therefore, after knocking on the rock-solid, ice encased heart for so long, he realized it was hopeless. He began to back away, annoyed he had even stayed this long near Sasuke. "If you don't care about it then don't bother me," he said dully. "I don't care either, but you always seemed to know everything, so I asked. b*****d." He turned away and began to walk a little ways, following the soft shore of the lake, wanting to feel the gentle breeze and smell the fresh air; it had always made him feel better in the end, anyway.

Sasuke was becoming furious and irritated even looking at Naruto as he questioned his own uncertainties. Of all the damn people err stallions to encounter it had to be that loser that thought himself equal to an Uchiha. Heh the nerve of the little moron to even try. Uchiha were prestigious for their abilities and famed for their popularity on power and rank. They equipped with the Sharingan were indeed amassed in power beyond comprehension. Able to see things and judge situations, they were perfect in the heat of battle. But right now Sauke felt lost without his Sharingan to guide his vengeful thoughts. No the damn things were walking around in a wolf's body. Just what the hell had happened from the moment he and Naruto clashed in the climax of that fight? Everything else from then on became nothing but distorted problems and painful endeavors he'd rather not face ever again.
He plainly ignored Naru glaring down at that feral mongrel that once lie trapped behind golden gates deep in Naru's mind. He definitely knew more than he was letting on, Sasuke would place his hoof upon it with sheer force if could have.
"I've not lost anything, especially not my power. I will always gain power no matter what it takes, and then I'll destroy that murderous traitor that presumed to call himself my brother. No one shall take that happiness from me for I will be the one that will end his life come hell or high water. That goes for you as well Naru..." He noticed Naruto had wandered off in anger. Always the little hothead when he didn't get his own way that was Sasuke's evaluation from the past. Always seeking attention because he was alone. Heh like Sasuke needed anyone when he had his determination to keep struggling in life. So what if he was alone in that cruel world clinging to life, what did he care anyway. He'd sit for hours down by the riverside and ponder how to gain more agility, power, ideals for his life further down the line.
Then Sasuke remembered something as he watched Naruto walk slowly away. A long time ago when they were kids the two glanced at one another for a brief instant. Always the curious Naruto looking downward from the hill while Sasuke sat there staring endlessly over the rolling waves in the river. Always smiling, always happy though really the little jerk was lonely as Sasuke himself. Two worlds yet similar in pain and surroundings the kids struggled through life. Then one day as their paths crossed by a single eye glance something happened.
Naruto stood there and smiled at Sasuke, which of course made the Uchiha boy turn around and glare as usual. As Naruto kept walking and occasionally peeked downward at the wayward boy he smiled at him. But what Naruto didn't know was Sasuke was smiling too. That even through that rivalry they carried on through life till that point, the two still stayed bonded and close. Even though Sasuke would scream "it's over. Bonds are cut" they weren't.
God what a moron he was! Sasuke hated the little jerk with everything he had wishing he would of disappeared, but was he that damn lucky? Oh hell no! Sasuke was stuck in this damn afterlife or whatever this was with the one person that made his heart ache till it bled with tears. Uzumaki Naruto why did you have to come here as well as me?! Sasuke was plainly frustrated and a bit upset but his hooves were carrying him right after the blonde haired blue eyed menace. Head bobbing as the wind brushed by, he lifted his massive wings to feel the sensation.
"Naruto!" he shouted with all his might, "Don't you run away from me like some powerless moron!" He snorted pawing the ground angry and ready to pound the crap out of the other stallion. But what Sasuke did shocked even himself royally, "Naruto!" he sighed nearing the other would a lowered gaze. "I'm sorry. Don't go anywhere alright?" He frowned feeling very little though he was indeed a large equine with huge wings. Right now he felt like he was sitting upon that pier once again feeling loneliness creep back in like a sneaky snake.
"I'm sorry don't go anywhere Naruto." he grumbled silently wondering which dream he was falling into this time. It was a dream right? That would explain the uncertainty in his voice. Hell even Naruto's voice seemed different. A dream of dreams that tormented the hell out of him. Well he better make the best of it while he could. Besides maybe Naruto would help him look for this Sharingan that claimed to be his family's heritage.
Things were definitely odd as hell in this place.

Meanwhile further away a black wolf with red eyes was checking out his surroundings with a disgruntled look. Flashing with an oddness as they opened and closed, they seemed his entire life force keeping him alive. One moment in time the canine remembered seeing an epic battle then everything faded to black within a few moments. Then when he reopened his eyes there the wolf stood upon a strange plain. Such odd things were occurring lately, he didn't know what to expect.
Padding along he picked up that weird scent again of that large equine he had approached a few days ago. A strange feeling overcoming him, he blurted out something insane yet he knew it was correct. Shaking his head the wolf desperately tried remembering what he had told the stallion, "Your name is Sasuke and I am your eyes " the canine had spoken with a hard gaze where eyes lingered in a freaky red design back at the tall stallion. Smirking the wolf nodded to the other's shock, "I am Sharingan..."
Well of course he knew his name was Sharingan, like that was a big surprise. but what was with that feather winged stallion he felt tied to anyway the wolf pondered. Seriously things were messed up all to hell he thought to himself. Just who the hell was this stallion anyway and why did he feel ties to the arrogant nag? Honestly things in the afterlife (if that's what they were) were just messed up beyond comprehension. Well in any case he needed to find Sasuke again and confirm this wasn't a dream, because frankly it did feel like one. Hell even his fur coat carried that odd symbol of a red and white fan upon his shoulders. Also the headband that matched the stallion sat upon his forehead. Just what was happening to him he grumbled leaning his head down for a drink. Lapping up the cool water he caught a scent of two others which made his head ache with pain.
"Damnit to hell... don't tell me Sasuke... you stupid idiot.... Naruto your rival isn't here as well?! That would complicate things more than I need." he scowled then shook his head, "Naruto? Who the hell is Naruto? For that matter who the hell is Sasuke?!" He was losing it, that was the wolf's conclusion.
Only thing Sharingan could do now was find these familiar scents and figure out why his blackouts were coming more full stream over and over again. He was fed up with remembering one thing then others fading out like memorizes washed out to sea.

He seethed silently while brooding over what Sasuke said, knowing that the Uchiha had gotten under his skin--er... fur...--again. Why? Why did that stupid. b*****d. Uchiha (it seemed he couldn't think of anything truly insulting to the idiot) always, always, always rile him up like this? Not only did he have to be freaking stupid superior in every way, he had to be damn arrogant, and he could be that way because he knew he was stronger, faster, better. And Naruto seriously knew he needed to stop cursing, because it didn't necessarily help to show that he was more intelligent than that...er, sort of. He sighed to himself, grumbling under his breath about "stupid Uchiha's and their pride!" He flicked an ear when he heard hoof-steps beginning to approach him, but ignored Sasuke as the stupid oaf continued to call out his name. What? What did the Uchiha want from him? He was damn horse now! Not like--oh, there he went cursing again. No wonder everyone thought he was stupid...er...it probably didn't help that he tended to do whatever he wanted on impulse... geez, he needed some air around here. "Naruto! Don't you run away from me like some powerless moron!"
He gritted his teeth, nearly rounding on the other stallion as Sasuke came up to his side, mumbling something he swore he was just imagining the Uchiha saying. "Naruto!" What!? He didn't just... but he did. No. F***ing. Way. He turned his head to avoid showing his startled surprise at the Uchiha apologizing. That's right. Apologizing. What happened to the rival best friend he had when they were younger? Naruto often wondered about this, clinging to a certain memory when he had been walking to his temporary "home"--though he wouldn't call it "home," since he had no one to come "home" to, until Iruka-sensei (where was Iruka-sensei, anyway?) decided to keep an eye on him--and saw Sasuke sitting out on a pier, staring out into the endless soft waves of the lake. Naruto had always thought that that was how they had come to be friends... to be rivals... to later become best friends, brothers. But as they got older, their rivalry got intensely rough. He never understood why Sasuke always thought that he was weaker and lower than him, but at the same time Naruto knew Sasuke regarded him more equally than any other rivals they had ever had... although the blond, former-ninetail fox carrier figured all the others probably thought he was their rival... except that Neji had called him something weird. Ah, well.
He remembered returning Sasuke's glare for about a second before he grinned widely at the Uchiha, not understanding why he was smiling at Sasuke, but knowing that, somehow, it made them both feel better if he was smiling. He had turned away at that point, peeking over his shoulder once in a while at Sasuke, but the Uchiha had looked away already, and Naruto never saw that he had smiled too. "Whatever, b*****d. You know I'll always forgive you," he smirked, accepting the apology. "But hey, I can leave any time I want to, who says I have to do what you say, eh, Uchiha?" He turned that time, half-scowling and half-laughing in exasperation. He wondered if he was the first person Sasuke had ever apologized to, let alone even be the last person the Uchiha would apologize to. It was so strange; if this was a dream, he wanted it to stay in this dream, because at least Sasuke was being abnormally semi-nice for once. "You scared if I leave something will happen to you, Sasuke?" he taunted. Naruto had grown up being terrified of different things, but he was never scared to be alone--at least, not for long. He had always had someone with him, at some point in time, somewhere. But like Sasuke, he would never admit he was scared; in their own way Naruto knew that maybe if they both said they weren't scared then something good was bound to happen... it had to. Somehow.
He muttered obscenities under his breath as he marched off after Naruto, knowing the Uchiha was going to stop Uzumaki and that Naruto would probably forgive him... Kyuubi growled softly, before the wind picked up and brought a familiar--and yet unfamiliar--scent to his nose. He glanced up, trying to pinpoint the odd scent before his glowing red eyes spotted something not too far from them. A wolf? he thought, going by the familiar scent that mixed together with an unfamiliar one.
Turning around to face the direction where the smell was coming from, his ears twitched, telling him that both stallions had stopped to converse a bit, and somewhat grinning to himself when Naruto started to insult Sasuke again. Ah, life. Kyuubi noted that the wolf had noticed both stallions and was probably having the same problem as them--memories with blackouts, knowing and not knowing who he was.
He smirked. My, my, God was helping him out quite a lot doing this! He quickly glanced over to Naruto and Sasuke to make sure they wouldn't leave while he went off to investigate the wolf whom he had dubbed to be Sharingan, the wolf that possessed the invaluable bloodline limit of the Uchihas. He was quite enjoying his new life--indeed, he quite was.

Powerless. That's how the Uchiha stallion felt feeling the humility of Naruto's reaction to his apology. He didn't have to really, but for some reason he did. That wolf of his was probably laughing inside as was Naruto right now. What right did they have being a nonchalant pair that were more underlings then he was. He was strong and always would be! Who needed precious family heirlooms anyway the stallion retorted as he grumbled in his mind. Honestly why did he even consort with these lowlifes when he himself was a magnificent creature by the looks of it in his opinion. Flaring out his wings as his obsidian eyes narrowed he stared at Naruto feeling painful memories remaining from that damn battle.
"Heh... I'm been alone most of my life Naruto I've survived. Now I'm this... horse? What the hell am I supposed to do like this huh?! " The little b*****d was probably laughing at him right now. He was always laughing at him wasn't he? Damn you Naruto...
Sharingan scowled as he neared the stallions, a wave of painful memories flooding him. Seeing everything, he knew how the entire situation went, extreme power conflicting from both sides all in one climax. It was enough to cause the wolf serious doubt of what was reality and fiction in this lifetime. A blinding flash was all it took and here he stood. Moving closer to the stallions he regarded Sasuke and Naruto.... wait there was something else wasn't there? What was this other gaze that caused the black wolf to narrow his own precious red orbs swirled in that unmistakable design?
Sasuke looked away his face contorting to a measure of aggravation. Had he stooped so low now to re-form that damn bond he longed to sever with this bumbling idiot Sasuke wondered. He apologized making things seem in Naruto's favor greatly and this was an instant thorn in his side. He hated the fact things returned like the clouds skimming across the sky, especially this friendship that pained him like a gaping hole. What was it about Naruto anyway Sasuke pondered as his eyes bore into the younger male. He was too hyper, too impulsive, never could be to par with an Uchiha... yet he always followed after and proved himself. Someone not knowing what it was to have a family both near and dear, yet he somehow survived and excelled as equal as Sasuke himself. Never good in school, always a bumbling idiot, he gained respect through callous ways of attention. Moron. Sasuke would always think that about Naruto... annoying and childish as he was. But now in this lifetime Sasuke wondered something deeply, letting it linger like a smooth rolling wave settling from the ocean to the shoreline.
If this was indeed another lifetime, a reincarnation of things that were meant to be, did that mean this was another chance to begin a new?
Continuing to stare deeply at Naruto he felt a pang of regret which made him wince. Was the rivalry between them the undoing through all those years? That if Sasuke's family wasn't wiped from existence would he have regarded Naruto with more recognition? Such trying questions that hung with him heavily as fog right now.
Sharingan could feel the uneasiness in Sasuke's body language which made him growl. He was close to this stallion no matter he liked it or not. Power. Honestly it meant the world to Sasuke, this the wolf remembered with all he had. As the memories and emotion flowed into him he knew what he was. The closer he progressed near the winged stallion, Sharingan knew more of what was going on.
But right now this other presence that Sharingan always felt was watching him. Growling he narrowed his eyes even more then spoke, "Well well... seems not only has Sasuke had the misfortune of reliving his past, but you have the gall to escape from your prison and lead Naruto around like a lost child. Heh some things never change do they Nine tails?" He sneered with eyes gleaming in a bit of sarcasm. That presence was a thorn that would cut in his side, and he was ready to take it on openly. The other stallions would have to wait... just a little longer.
As Sasuke dstood there pondering things he felt a twitch in his withers and glanced out toward the odd feeling. Though the creature was black, he carried those unmistakable crimson eyes of the Sharingan. His eyes! That damn wolf of Naruto was correct. His eyesight had just gotten up and walked the hell off. Oh this was rich, just too damned amusing if Sasuke would have been laughing.
"Sharingan?!" he hissed with a stamp of the hoof pulling away from Naruto. So it was true....
Now Sasuke was really at a loss feeling anger set in deeply to his subconscious. But his words to Naruto were seemingly calm and unemotional, "Hmph... Naruto. Whatever happened that day changed what we were." he sighed with a flick of his tail, "But... I think its something that may of given us a second chance." His looked away again feeling awkward talking as an equal, but yet he smiled to himself.
Maybe just this once friendship was an option...
"Heh... I'm been alone most of my life Naruto I've survived. Now I'm this... horse? What the hell am I supposed to do like this huh?! " The little b*****d was probably laughing at him right now. He was always laughing at him wasn't he? Damn you Naruto...

He raised an eyebrow at the slight smaller black wolf, a smirk already forming on his maw. "Ah... Sharingan," he spoke the name as with a lover's caress, but at the same time with an underlying sneer of mockery decorated delicately within his tone. He delighted in the fact he would be able to get revenge on Sharingan--well, he'd rather it be the Uchihas, as they were the carriers of that bloodline limit--but these circumstances. Aaaaah... sweet revenge. He licked his lips and grinned, a wicked gleam in his red eyes. "Aye, nothing has changed except to see that you have left your owner... Sharingan." He glanced at himself, and then looked up. "So I have. Escaped, that is. Well... perhaps not escaped. Ah, but, it seems you have come to have a mind of your own, eh, Sharingan...?" He continued to taunt the wolf, wanting to keep him away from Sasuke for just ab it longer. He felt pretty amused and for once, he finally had the upper hand on the annoyingly dreaded Sharingan that had gotten him during the great battle of Konoha, before the 4th had sealed him inside his own son.
"Geez, so what if you're a horse, I'm one, too, dammit," he complained, ignoring Sasuke's whining about being alone as well. He already knew they'd both grown up alone but Sasuke had had a family when he was younger, and Naruto had been literally alone! He had had no one; he had the 3rd's sympathy, and Iruka-sensei hadn't really come around until a much later time... he'd tried his best to ignore the painful looks as he'd walked through the village... it had been harsh living on his own, but the 3rd Hokage had seemed to know certain secrets about him--aside from Kyuubi, anyway--but Naruto had never gotten to ask... because the 3rd had died sooner than he had expected. Naruto knew that the life of shinobi, to live as long as the 3rd had, as Tsunade had, and as Jiraiya had... was a miracle in itself, really. Though he hid it behind a mask of pure optimistic belief and smiles and determination,
Naruto had truly grown up too fast for his liking... and though many considered him child-like and stupid, it was rare for any other to actually see his true self. In his own way Naruto wanted to continue blindly acting through his mask, because he knew that, if he didn't, he'd end up like Gaara... and he'd barely made it alive through that fight too... wait... he was remembering things? He felt as if he kept forgetting something extremely important, but maybe that was just him... he knew it had to do with cherry blossoms and the like, but he didn't know why. Maybe he was thinking too much into it... Ah, well. Sasuke seemed to think power was everything... he supposed it was true, power meant you could do anything you wanted, really. That's why he had wanted to be Hokage of Kohonakagure... but now it seemed that was impossible...
He blinked as he stopped sneering, concern flashing through his expression, azure eyes as he took a once over at Sasuke. Uchiha probably thought he was laughing at him, which wasn't true at all. He was just amazed and didn't exactly know how to react to an apologizing Sasuke. It was just that strange and that rare to hear the great Uchiha Sasuke apologize. The insanity of it all made Naruto realize he should be grateful that Sasuke had even said sorry at all. "H-Hey, Sasuke--" he started, and then blinked when the name Sharingan came hissing out of Sasuke's mouth. "Eh??" He turned to look, trying to discern what exactly was going on. His eyes widened seeing a black wolf, and then he stared, jaw dropping. No. Way. No. Freaking. Way. Sasuke hadn't been kidding when he said that his eyes had literally up and walked away. No kidding! That was just plain creepy!!! "T..The hell!?" he barely got out, too stunned to even think properly. Had Kyuubi known about this all along...? He stared at his partner, willing Kyuubi to have an answer for him to understand.
