GUILDS
Player-made organizations, usually with a certain goal or focus in mind. Some specialize in player support or aiding new players, some become networks for trading items, and some are focuses for players who frequent the arena. The nature, size and dedication of any one guild varies with each establishment.
Guildmaster: The leader of the guild. The quest to become a guildmaster begins with the creation of an @Home and a Grunty. The prospective guildmaster then must undertake the Guild Master Certification Event. Such events usually comprise of completing the tasks of the Grunty, effectively making the prospective leader the b***h of a small pig-like animal.
@Home: An @Home is a location in The World R:2 that functions as a base or hall for Guilds within the game. The size of an @Home depends on the guild's rank. Small, weak guilds such as Canard usually only have a building with a few rooms, while the @Homes of large guilds like TaN can rival a Root Town in size.
Grunty: Grunties are kept as pets, and act as guild mascots and "greeters" to people visiting foreign guilds. Grunties retain the same basic appearance as in the previous rendition of The World, but they are shorter, thinner, and stand on two legs. They manage guild @Homess and take on the appearance and personality of the guildmaster.
Guild Key: Members of a guild can give non-members a Guild Key, which acts as a sort of guess pass and grants them entrance to the otherwise inaccessible @Home of said guild. Members of an affiliate guild are usually given these.
Notable Guilds
Moon Tree
A guild of pacifists, promoting harmony and peace in The World R:2. It is composed of around 1,000 members who are devoted to restoring The World R:2 from its corrupt, PK-ridden state to the prominent The World of the past. Moon Tree is the greatest opposing force to Kestrel. Members are generally forbidden to PK or PKK unless they themselves are attacked, or if they are fighting in the Arena. The guild is split into seven divisions, each with its own function.
Kestrel
The largest of the guilds in The World R:2. The guild has over 5,000 members and contains many PKs because the guildmaster, Gabi, believes "that's just another part of 'The World'". As a result, Kestrel has possibly the worst reputation among non-members. The @Home itself spans an entire field, with Gabi able to create monsters within it and turn it into a massive training ground.
Icolo
A guild made up of the three Arena Emperors. It was originally founded by Antares as a place reserved for the most powerful Arena fighters. However Antares grew disillusioned when he discovered that the other Emperors valued their titles and the status it gave them more then their comrades or improving their skills. He left the guild as a result.
Medic Union
A special support guild in The World R:2. Styling themselves as a sentai force, each member picks a color upon joining as a new name. Most of the members have identical character models, favoring a Tu Tribe Harvest Cleric, though there are exceptions. All members are required to end their sentences with "~nyan!" in the Japanese version, and "meow" in the American version. The guild's mission is to roam the fields and dungeons of The World, giving support to all who need it. Aside from the one member running their Guild Shop, members of this guild can usually only be encountered in areas ("in action"). The Medic Union doesn't believe in the need for a guildmaster, several members hold leadership titles. The technical guildmaster behind the guild within The World's system is unknown.
Canard
A newbie-friendly group, dedicated to aiding newcomers to The World R:2. The guild was founded by Kuhn when he left his position of Vice-Guildmaster of Kestrel. The fact that it is a newbie-related group makes it the target of Kestrel's PKers. Leadership passed to Silabus when Kuhn left. Unlike other support guilds, Canard is rather small and lacks any real manpower.
Project G.U.
Piros the 3rd's graphic design guild. The only condition for joining, is that all guild members must be able to draw. The title stands for Graphics Umai, or "Good at Graphics" in Japanese.
Crusade
A special Arena-based guild. Its requirement for membership is being in the Arena's top 16 ranking. Their goal is to surpass Icolo and become the strongest Arena guild.
Empireo
An information guild, prominent on the Community BBS. It's members are prominent on the Rumors section of the Community BBS. They specialize in researching the reasoning and cause of the various oddities and urban legends that appear in The World R:2.
Cherubim Union
A guild for players interested in mythology. Those interested in the Epitaph of the Twilight are welcomed to join.
NOA
The guild belonging to Gabriel of the Black Moon. Originally formed as a means to harass those ever-popular Crimson Knights, they now exist as a sort of mercenary group. Due to their level of expertise, their services are generally reserved for MODS and anyone with mounds of cash just laying around.
Orion Committee
Despite its rather businesslike title, this guild is simply a fan club dedicated to Saiph. Though Saiph has a Guild Key, he has politely declined offers for membership on numerous occasions. The guild is small, being composed of barely over ten players.
