Rest had done well for the black cat. While her muscles were still sore and her wounds needed the occasional tending, she saw no point in keeping herself away from pressing matters. It was a kind of adrenaline- so much still needed to be done, and there was no time for the newly usurped reagents to worry about themselves.
As of late- the pair had been combing the ranks. They needed to restructure the pride, or else it would fall in on itself- and that meant careful consideration of the resources and individuals currently under command. And this was all done whilst establishing guard points and keeping a weary eye in the direction the traditionalists had feinted to.
No doubt doing some pride rehashing themselves.
No snorted, her draping whiskers pointing up like needles. She wasn’t an arrogant creature, but in the same breath, she wasn’t above scoffing at the idea of it. Mindful of that note, she swayed her paw to the side, and pushed out a few scarce bones left from the old firekin’s kill. Whether they had been attempting to scare people off with such a rotting mess, or had been too lazy to clean up after themselves, was up for debate.
She liked this place- the area she now stood in was surrounded on either sides by the towering rock formations. It had once served as some sort of garrison- but now, No had some better intentions for such a spacious arena. With a hop, she reached another ledge, and began to do much of the same. Shoving off some of the dirty rocks and bone fragments, and piling the remains in the center of the pit to be buried.

Relaxation. Kibela was unused to such a thing, however, she knew when to push herself, and when no to. Rest was what her body needed, and moving about would do nothing but aggravate her injury.
And so, she relaxed, in the old abandoned area. She had rather liked the peace and quiet of it. Up until the quiet had left her.
Black ears perked up at the sound of bone and rock being shoved around, followed by the sound of raining sand being kicked off the ledges along with them. Slowly, crimson eyes opened and easily focused on the other dark-furred Pride Lander she had met only once before. Kidondo's mate.
Her gaze narrowed lightly as she studied the other female for the first time, taking in the even black coat, and soft green eyes. Truly, they were similar, but so very different.
It took only a moment for her to decide, and slowly she stood from her hiding spot in the darkness, prowling around the ledge to move closer to No.
" It is said that leaders willing to do menial tasks often have long, and successful reigns. " came her dark, purring voice as she approached.

While not known for her laughter, the black cat did allow some transgressions. As Kibela approached, an honest chuckle floated from her maw as she shoved some more of the debris off the ledge and to the rock and sand floor below. She looked to where it had fallen, pausing a moment to smile and reflect on the note. Another half smile.
“Probably because leaders rarely factor in cleaning up the place into our grand war plans.” She mused. “I don’t honestly think I’ve got anyone left to spare.” She laughed, and dusted herself off. Her black coat had been rendered a somewhat dusky grey now that she had been working, and she was pleased to have at least a moment’s distraction from the task at hand.
Her neck stretched, and she viewed the tall cliff shapes and floating sand up above. “It’s a good place. It’ll due for now when we need to call meetings. It does not seem our safi breathern were too considerate of such a place.” She scolded, pushing another dismembered bone from the ledge. It hit the ground with a thwack- breaking No’s thoughts for the moment.
“How are your wounds?” No asked, switching pretty quickly from her own amusement to more regent like concerns. “Kidondo had mentioned you had a bit of a scrape.” Not that any of them hadn’t- No would have perhaps been more suspicious of a lion who didn’t bare some kind of injury. But she liked to know how the group was doing, particularly the rogues. She was not going to have anyone pushing themselves into death just to keep up with all the rapid changes.

" Well enough to allow for a bit of work now, I'd imagine. " She said, swatting some bones and stone off the ledge around her.
" Hmm, they hardly seemed concerned with their land at all, from the looks of it, reveling in gifts they did little to earn. "
Crimson eyes returned to No, and she allowed the slightest of smiles. When she choose to follow Kidondo, she in turn choose to follow No as well, it would not hurt to let the black cat in, if even a little, past her frozen persona.
" You seem to be worried for those around you, but what of your own wounds? " It was a mere few days ago that she had started a similar discussion with Kidondo, when he seemed unwell, and unsure of the changes around them.
No, however, seemed much more confidant, and that, in its self, was worrisome. " There is much to be done, but there will always be the time to rest, should you need it. " Her tone was not scolding, or lecturing. It was not even suggestive. It was stated as plain and simple fact. That was just how Kibela was. She would worry, but she would never lecture, or try to manipulate to help someone. She would give them the facts, and straight out advice if such a thing was needed.
Continuing closer to the other former Pride Lander, she continued to swat any bones and debris out into the pit.

The black cat shook her head. It wasn’t in disagreement with anything Kibela had said- but more in exasperation over the state the firekin of old had gotten themselves into. “I feel sometimes, when things are given to us from our parents, we don’t appreciate them when they’re gone.” She mused. “Hopefully at least now the safi know what they’ve lost.”
“But, not again. Once this is cleaned up…” She continued, looking off into the distance. “It’ll be something to be reckoned with.” Speaking perhaps both for the arena and the simo. She shifted her jaw, she looked back to Kibela, who had continued on.
Her own wounds? They still hurt her, but No knew there was simply no time to sit around licking them all day. She often shoved her own feelings and wellbeing aside for her undertakings- but in a way, she’d done it so much that she rarely worried about herself. To her, death was not a terribly frightening thing. And she felt that with that under her belt- she need not worry about what might befall her. She might not have been borne of the sand, but she was a warrior through and through.
“I rest when I can,” She spoke. “But, there’s much to be done, I doubt I could sleep much anyways. I’ve always been a bit of an insomniac.” She started tidying again. "I find I worry more when I'm not out and about with both my paws in work."

A light chuckle escaped the lioness as she gently brushed past No, continuing her way along the ledge. How could she not be amused when she had seen such similar actions just days ago?
" The two of you... You really are well matched, even in your worries, aren't you? " She was of course referring to No, and Kidondo. Both so restless to get everything moving, and to rebuild.
" Your wounds aren't the only thing that need the time to heal. Change can often be a painfully slow process. " She stopped in her cleaning to move forward to the edge, staring thoughtfully down into the pit. " I suppose keeping out paws busy is the best way to get through that time. "
Shaking away her train of thoughts, she turned back to No, looking over her slowly. " Mm. I think I can understand better why Kidondo is so attached to you. " She spared the black cat another smile, before she turned to continue with the cleaning. No point in letting No take on the task alone.

She smiled smoothly as she piled a few more debris. She liked to think they were. She knew to some extent, they must have seemed eager to put their plans into fruition. But these plans! They’d been their they’d been nothing but cubs; almost all their existence had been embroiled into scheming their way back to their home. And now that they had it, there was some half victory drunk notion that everything was falling into place. That their cause was just- and if there truly had been a great goddess of the desert, she dared not rise against them. Or perhaps- she too saw their goal at heart. Whatever it was, No figured it was an excuse to be ambitious- at least for the moment.
But she was no fool either. Although their hearts might be bubbling, she was well aware there were hard times yet to come. “This is very true,” No conceded. “We’ll be keeping a watchful eye on that change.” There was obviously, still chance for some descent among the old traditionalists.
“But what of you?” She asked, rising her head up. “We have the same birth home- how does the desert fair you?” How does war fair you?
As No spoke this- from the far bottom of the small ampetheter, a white and red lioness pooled from the shadows. She had a dazed look on her face- but then, the princess had seemed mostly a ghost these past few days. She seemed addled once she noticed the two black lionesses up on the rocks- and wearily, Kaanga decided to hurry past unannounced.

" I find it to be far more comfortable than the Pridelands. That realm had never set well with me. It left me restless, and ill-tempered. " She paused in her work, looking out of the area, into the sandy dunes. Her lips quirked into a light smirk. " This land feels so much more like home to me. It's something I've never really felt before. "
She bristled a bit as a thought crossed her, quickly getting back to her cleaning. " Though I must admit. It wasn't so at first... I found myself to be.. Ah. Quite off-balance.. " She huffed out in embarrassment, remembering all the times she'd lost her footing, and gone sliding off through the sand. Once even in front of Kidondo!
She shook her head, looking back to No. " I'm glad to say I've adapted quickly enough.. "
Perhaps her senses were dulled by the low pain in her thigh. Perhaps she was too focused on the task at hand, and on the other lioness she was speaking too. But Kibela took next to no notice of the figure below them. Her eyes did flick down on instinct, when she thought she caught movement, slowly traveling the area, though thinking it was just a trick of her mind.

No chuckled. Luckily, she had been able to chalk most of her instability learning the sands to clumsy youth. It was hard to even believe she’d been just a scrap of a girl when she’d embarked on this wild mission. “Once you get the rhythm, it’s hard to walk on solid ground again.” She admitted. She liked the way the hot sand slid between her paws. “Hopefully, the rest of the rogues shall be as adaptive. So far though…” She trailed off, the end of her tail swaying. She wasn’t about to jinx herself. But so far, it was going rather well. There were crisis to deal with on the horizon, but No felt armed to deal with them as they came.
As No kicked off another wedge of bones and soot, she noticed the pale form of Kaanga slinking around. She paused for a moment- a bit unsure if she should address the princess just yet. But with Kidondo so concerned of her, she felt at least compelled to see if the girl was any less insane then usual. “Lady Kaanga,” No called. She wasn’t sure why she kept the title- but, then again, No was not so sure if Kaanga’s state of mind even let her privy to what had happened. “It’s good to see you.”
Kaanga rose her head. She had been staring at the center of the pit, her yellow eyes dazed and sunken from the trauma of the rebellion. Someone was speaking to her. Dazedly, her yellow eyes rolled in the direction of the black cat. Black…there were two of them. Kaanga hadn’t known No was two people. “Sun…” She mused. “Can’t read it from the ground.”
“Mm.” No commented. The princess seemed distracted- and walking to the side, she vanished in one of the crevasses.
A passing look of concern crossed No’s face, and she turned back to Kibela. “…it’ll take some people more time then others to adjust, I’m afraid.”

Kibela, too, didn't dare mention how well it was going. There was no need to say it out loud. They both could very easily see it. With any luck, things would continue to go well until they were at the least fully recovered, and prepared to face more complex situations once more.
Focus returning to the one the Black Cat had called 'Kaanga', her eyes moved back down to the lighter lioness.
She observed the brief conversation, withholding comment, and drawing no attention to herself. Once the princess has passed, and No was speaking to her again, crimson eyes returned to the darker lioness.
" It may not so much be that some need to adjust... It's more that they may need to heal... " She murmured, moving forward to the fellow former Pridelander. For the most part, the area had been tidied up. It was still dusty, but what wasn't in the middle of a desert? At least the various remains had been cast down into the sand to be slowly buried as the wind saw fit.
She was a bit tempted, to ask just who that Lady Kaanga was. But instead, she stored the name away, not wanting to put the lioness into an awkward position with any sensitive questions.
" With this done, I believe I shall head out on a little hunt. " She said thoughtfully. Her stomach demanded to be fed, and the hunting would hopefully loosen and tone her body back up after, in her opinion, far too much rest. " Please, do not hesitate to ask my assistance in any other tasks you have around here, my dear Lady No. Take care. The Blood Lion would be lost without you. "
With a roguish grin to the Black Cat, she leapt from the ledges, down to the sand to stalk out of the area.

She was right about that. It would take some time to heal. But perhaps she would have to have a hand in it herself. She could not have Kidondo’s spirits dampened by Kaanga’s sorrow. Something had to be able to turn her around… But for what, No was not sure yet. She’d keep a sharp eye for the moment, and perhaps, have a more private word with the princess after night had fallen. “Of course,” No replied, dipping her head as Kibela asked for her leave. “Thank you for your help, Kibela. It might not be a dignified job, but I am glad it’s been done. And I’m afraid I may have to take you up on that.” She smiled mischievously. Although perhaps stubborn on occasion- No was not the sort to not ask for help. And with some of the pride still shell shocked from the battle, she would be glad to have a helping hand from one of the more adjusted members of the group.
She watched the lioness leave, gently dusting off herself. The sun was just about cresting overhead- and she reminded herself that she was due to check in with Kidondo about now. There was much to discuss- and hopefully, good news was to be abundant.
And with a small puff of dust, the regent took her leave from the cleansed amphitheater. Empty- but only for the moment.
