Ezuzu was in a playful mood today after she had rested for a few days and ate a bunch. She took the time to do some personal grooming. Licking her fur, trimming her nails on a tree, and giving herself a much needed bath.
She walked along the plains seeing of there was anything to do...maybe she would meet someone new today but not that she wanted too...so many things have happened and maybe it was best if she laid low.
She stopped at a watering hole and started to drink some water, watching her back at the same time.

Kya had decided to go exploring today. She knew that there could be dangers outside the lands of the pride... but in any case, she didn't plan to go far. And when she left, she went in the direction of where she used to live.
The young cheetah had some vague thoughts of visiting her family, but she wasn't sure if she would go that far or not. She didn't know ... what they might think of her now, after all.
Sighing softly, she turned her thoughts away from that and perked her ears up, deciding that she would try to listen for new things to make into songs. That would give her a good reason to be out here if anyone asked.

Ezuzu smelled another cat in the air but took no mind because it was a female and not a lioness. She had gotten into fights with a lot of cats by this watering hole and she kept coming here because the water was so good.
She stopped drinking and picked her head up, listening to the wind.

Kya knew about that watering hole too and had already planned to stop there. She swerved aside from her course, humming softly to herself under her breath, eyes half-closed. The wind here did have a particular kind of whistling sound to it ... and she wondered if there was anything that could make a similar noise.
Glancing up, she was startled to see another cheetah there and immediately smiled. "Hello! Are you from around here? I haven't seen you before," she said brightly.

The jumpy cheetah moved over quickly and faced the small cheetah, her eyes calmed and her body went loose again. She smiled at the little one and turned back around. "I'm kinda new around these parts...sorry if this is your watering hole. I get attacked here alot, I don't know who it belongs to but I really want to find out so they keep it clean" She said and giggled.
She was in a oddly happy mood.

"Oh, no it's not mine," Kya said instantly. "As far as I know, anyone can use it ... but what do you mean, attacked?" she asked, ears going back a little.
Of course, she didn't come here very often herself. But still...

Ezuzu looked at the little girl then turned to face her. "Attack..you know...claws and fangs bared and coming at you full speed" She said and tilted her head. "They don't like me over here, I don't know why...I don't mean any harm" She said innocently.

Kya made a face at that. "I know what attacked means," she said with a twitch of her tail. "I just don't know why anyone around here would attack anyone else..." From what she knew, the pride at least was peaceful...
She hadn't known there were any other groups in the area. "Did you do anything to make them mad?" she asked, with a little tilt of her head.

Ezuzu sighed and shrugged. "I don't really know..maybe it's the fact I'm over here...This place is peaceful but there are dangers that lurk in the shadows." She said and looked at the little girl. "No worries...if anyone comes around I will defend you" She said and made a heroic pose.

Kya blinked, then had to stifle a little giggle at the older cheetah. She didn't look much like she could defend anyone ... but then again, what did Kya know. "All right," she said, trying to be serious. "I'm trusting you."
Tilting her head then, she let eyes lid a bit and listened to the wind. "Do you think there's anything else that could make a whistling noise like that...?" she asked idly.

Ezuzu listened for a while before answering. Her eyes moved over the trees and she shrugged. "Cats don't whistle so it's most likely a bird or something" She said and went in it over her head. She didn't know many cats that could whistle.
She smiled. "I doubt it's anything to worry...I have been hearing it all morning" She reassured her.

Kya smiled slightly and shook her head. "I think it's the wind... but ... maybe birds could make a sound that's similar." She thought for a minute or two and made a mental note to maybe see if she could find a bird to ask sometime.
"I'm ... something like a musician, see? I like drums and rhythm, but other sounds are cool too. I always wonder how to copy them ..."

Ezuzu tilted her head. "I see humans around here sometimes..they dance around fires and stuff like that at night and on their holidays" She nodded and looked to the east.
"There is a village of them down there, when I sleep I can hear them beating on drums and stuff...I always wonder how they do it. I tried to get a drum but they chased me away..I only wanted to use it for a second" She said truthfully and sighed. "They are mean"

Kya tilted head at that, eyes lighting up. She hadn't seen this village of humans, but then again - she didn't usually go over that way from here.
"That sounds really cool! Maybe I could go and listen sometime..." she mused to herself, tail tip flicking.
"Oh, but if you want to drum on something you don't need one of theirs! You can use a hollow log. Uhmm... liiike that one over there! C'mon I'll show you~"
And with that, the young cheetah trotted off toward said log, glancing back to see if Ezuzu was following.

Ezuzu happily trotted after the little girl "They only play late at night...after they hunt some and get around the fire" She said softly. "I like their drums, they have pretty writing on them" She said excitedly and felt her inner child come out just at that moment.
