Theme: Single-Round Robin

* 6 v 6, Lv 50/100 Battle (Single)

* You must only use pokemon of a similar elemental type

* Due to special circumstances, new entrants into the league must only choose one of the following unclaimed types to tryout for: Ice, Psychic, Steel, Grass, Normal, Flying, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Rock, Electric, Dragon, Fire and Water

* Only one non-uber legendary pokemon may be used per team, per battle.


General Rules

1. If you used a cheating device like AR, CB, or GS to hack in fake Pokémon, max stats, etc. then please do not scam us and enter this tournament. This is only open to honest trainers with official teams. If you can't find shinies and your friends hack them for you and trade them to you, don't enter. If you don't feel confident about your team, just don't enter. Play fair. Trust in your own abilities.

2. Please do not disconnect from the match and make up a bogus excuse to cover it up. Make sure you have a strong WiFi signal. If not, just don't enter.

3. Voice chat must be turned off.


Clauses in Effect

* Species Clause: All of your Pokémon must be different.

* Sleep Clause: You can only put 1 of your opponent's Pokémon to sleep at a single time.

* Self-KO Clause: Your Pokémon cannot use moves like Explosion or Self-Destruct to win if it's the only Pokémon remaining on your team. The same applies for Perish Song and Destiny Bond.

* Uber Clause: The following pokemon are not allowed to be used: Arceus, Darkrai, Deoxys, Deoxys-A, Deoxys-D, Dialga, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Latias, Latios, Lugia, Manaphy, Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Wobbuffet and Wynaut.

* Evasion Clause: Moves like Double Team and Minimize are banned from being used. Brightpowder may also not be used.

* OHKO Clause: Moves like Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill and Sheer Cold are banned from use.




Can I be the gym leader of the gym?

Yes! But only if you earn it by placing high enough in this tournament. If you'd like to try out for a gym leader spot, be sure you read all the rules and just post your friend code on this thread and state which Elemental type you are trying out for.


What is a Round Robin style tournament?

In a round-robin tournament or all-play-all tournament, each participant plays every other participant an equal number of times, and in this case, once, and the winner(s) will be based upon the number of wins-to-losses ratio.


Who will be chosen to be Gym leaders? The winners?

Essentially that's how the tournament will play out and those that win the most matches will be made into gym leaders, though there is one exception to that as well. As only a single person can be the leader of a single type, in this tournament, you must not only try to place high on the overall standings but you must also place higher than your rival same type team opponents. Example: Say if there are 2 people with Fire teams and they somehow place 1st and 2nd in the overall tournament. In that case, only the person who placed first will be the gym leader over the Fire gym, as there will be no two gyms with the same type. And say if an Electric team placed 3rd behind the two Fires, then that Electric team wins the leadership of the Electric gym. So essentially, if you lose to another Fire team, you still have a chance of winning the leader status if your able to beat more of the other types than your rival(s). Only then, we feel the guild would have stronger, well rounded leaders.


How many leaders will be chosen from this tournament?

As there are already 3 current gym leaders, only 5 will be chosen out of the 10+ entrants to be gym leaders. This is not to be mean and exclude anybody, but to ensure that only the best obtain such a title of gym leader, we wish for them to be exceptional battlers.


How come there are already Gym leaders? Isn't that what this tournament is for?

Yes, that is what this tournament is for, but the 3 current gym leaders are from the previous league that was in effect before we decided to reorganize this one. Based strictly off of seniority rule, they we're allowed to keep their status, unless overwhelmingly challenged for their type and by that I mean at least 3+ different challengers all wanting the same type that corresponds with a currently held gym leader's type.


Why are some of the Gym Leaders competing in the tournament?

They we're given permission to join the tournament to further gain some battle experience, test out their teams and to challenge the new gym leader candidates at no cost of losing their own status as gym leaders. Their participation in this tournament is strictly voluntarily.
