What parts of the game make you ask "What on Earth were they thinking?!" From Wario Ware deciding that everyone is now invincible to the turtles of instant death in Mario Bros, Brawl has a lot of elements that leave you scratching your head, what's the one that gets you the most?
Personally, for me, it's the entire Electroplankton stage And why, now that they've added swimming to the game, is that water not water.

Personally, I like the swimming. It has saved me alot. There's also a thing you can get by swimming a certain length in Multiplayer.
I don't see why they put all the pokemon characters in the game. Don't get me wrong, the pokemon rock, I just don't see why they put in so darn many.

Sorry, I thought you were bashing the swimming. Didn't read your post careful enough.

I don't like that you can't swim in that stage... it's water... at least make it purple so it looks poisonous or something... or steam so that it's like 300 degrees and we melt when we land in it. Something! 3
I don't see why Falco, Fox and Wolf all have the same Final Smash. That made me wonder what they were thinking. There are other vehicles, so why not use them? Uck.. Fox could have called Arwings for assistance, (or have him board one and shoot at foes Snake style.) Falco could keep the damn Landmaster and Wolf could just eat you or something. XD

I absolutely hate how Jigglypuff automatically dies after her shield breaks.
Why the **** would they do that? Every time I play as Jigglypuff something stupid like that happens. I mean really, wtf?

I mean really, wtf? It was also in the previous Smash Bros. games. As Jigglypuff has the biggest shield, it has the biggest 'fly factor,' so to speak.
Also, now DLC? What the hell, Sakurai? = __=

Um... On the pirate ship stage... I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them at the moment...

stickyfeet Um... On the pirate ship stage... I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them at the moment... Delfino Plaza has water that is swimmable. And people need to stop whining about the water on Elecktroplankton stage. It was made to look like the DS game, the "water" is just an aesthetic. Just pretend the water isn't there and get over it.
7) 75m. Where the hell do you fight on this stage?
6) Challenge completion "rewards" in Wario Ware. Seriously, why are the rewards so unbalanced? You're proud that you finish it only to see that you've recovered 10% and your opponent is Giant. He's happy to see that he's Giant only to see that the third player is Invulnerable.
5) Lack luster story in Subspace. You could have done so much more.
4) Critters in Classic Mario Bros. Why are they near instant kill and incredibly difficult to catch/shield?
3) Three landmasters. What? It's STAR FOX! Where are the Fighter Planes?! There are so many vehicles and they choose to give all three the same damned thing? The only one really worth using is Falco's and that because it's quick, lasts a while, and easily drives people who stand on it off the top of the screen.
2) Infinites, there are too many of them. Infinite Grabs, Infinite Shines, Infinite Lasers, there everywhere and walls are the cause for most of them. Seriously, did Nintendo test these games and decide it was a good idea to leave them in?
1) No Geno. Easily the most desired character in the game. Why not negotiate with Square Enix for his rights?

I have to disagree with you on the SSE story. I'd say it's easily the best fighter storyline ever. Hell, it's better than most game stories (outside adventure &RPGs.)

What are infinites? I do like the SSE. I thought Geno was Nintendo. And I forgot about Pirate Ship, and there is Delfino Plaza.

LogTimeKeeper What are infinites? I do like the SSE. I thought Geno was Nintendo. And I forgot about Pirate Ship, and there is Delfino Plaza. Define infinites. Doubles infinites or single infinites? Geno is Square. I believe you can swim at the Icy's level and you can swim at DK's retro stage forsure, just the current gets in the way.

I can't believe no one has said anything about tripping yet. It drives me nuts... I've missed getting several of my beloved audio disks due to tripping...

Kumo Itami I can't believe no one has said anything about tripping yet. It drives me nuts... I've missed getting several of my beloved audio disks due to tripping... That's it? Just walk to the CD instead of running; less tripping. Personally, it's funny to see someone trip so you can take the opportunity to hit them.
I also find the Wi-Fi's lag horrible gonk All of my moves end up being executed later than when I actually pressed the button(s).

Uck, it is annoying to trip trying to get to an audio disc. -sigh- Walking isn't fast enough to get to them before they disappear, especially on large levels.
