This is our setting:

Modern->Futuristic Fantasy Dream
The story begins in a modern setting and the player gets transported to a fantasy world.


Now, we need some suggestions for what we are going to include in the game. They should follow the storyline (since we're using a futuristic setting, chopping down a tree with an ax may look a little strange) and shouldn't be too over-the-top.

If we get alot of original art work we can have a cg viewer. I know a nice script for that.
also, a sound test feature.

something that probably has never EVER been done before with RPGmaker.

2-player co-op.

Like how FF9 was. One player controls the main character, and in battle they each control a party member, or two.

I have no Idea how to do that though...

I thought that was the most useles thing ever....

but that reminds me... what about our battle system?

action? tactical? Card based? default?(ew) .Maybe we should start looking for interesting battle systems that we might be able to use.

This has been brought up numerous times, but what does everyone think of making two games with a different character for each? I think it's a very good idea and it hasn't been done too often.

As for the battle system...I actually like the default. sweatdrop I'm not sure why I like turn-based, but I do. However, something new would certainly be interesting, and the tactical idea sounds cool. However, we'll need scripts for that, and, for some reason, I don't like putting too many scripts into a game. It makes it feel...diluted for some reason. But, we'll most likely need scripts to create anything unique, so we'll use them when events can't accomplish something.

there is a tactical battle system out that lets you use it and one other battle system. ao waying we have mechs (its obvious that I love them right?) their battles can be tactical, and the players out side of them (or whatever) would use maybe the defult system or whatever.

how about we do this idea mix both set a time variable that when your in a tactic battle and your attacked or when you attack you get a 30 second to 1 minuet time frame to take out the opponent or to block and retaliate the one that will make it sorta like fire emblem only you control your guys attacks how does that sound.

Dark Angel, you seriously need to work on your grammar. Just punctuation would help because I have a lot of trouble trying to decipher your posts. Linis, you need to work on it, too.

That being said...I'm not exactly sure what you're suggesting, so I'm working off assumptions. I like the idea of having two different battle systems. A mech tactical system would be nice and I like the idea of having the traditional turn-based system still included. We could probably...well, at least I could probably, create a tactical system with events, but a script would be much easier as long as we can turn it off. Yeah, we'll definitely need to be able to turn both combat systems off and on. Do you guys have links to the scripts so I can take a look?

well i have searched ALOT of forum boards ALOT of scripts there are tactical battle systems and turn based battle systems but we might need probably minkoff HIMSELF or sandgolem to help sandgolem can probably connect the two with what we are thinking but minkoff can make us a brand new script

Another different battle system we can use is a tweeked out side view battle system.

Just assuming we go with a mech like story, maybe the system could be something like this

thats from Xenosaga 3[PS2].

While it was a turn based battle system for the E.S units (what the robots are called), the fights still felt action packed. While this may look inpossable it really isnt. I belive the Japanese scripter KCG has scripts that can make a battle system look a little simular. We could get the skills that deal multipule sets of damage. have team mates join in attacks and counter then thoughs would be a little more interesting.

maybe you can have a sync rating like in The World Ends With You [NDS]

the higher your sync bar, the more likely you are to do chain team attacks.

a way to boost your sync would be to talk to allies out side of battle. I guess that would be a treat for the rpg fans that like stuff like that.

of course we'd need a dedicated scripter..... emo
