Map Key:
=: Door. The bottom-left corner is the regular entrance from the main building, the top-right is an emergency exit that leads directly outside.
B: Base. Top-left is blue team's base, bottom-right is red team's.
Red or Blue Circles: Targets. In addition to scoring points by shooting members of the other team, players can score a greater number of points at a time by shooting either the big targets at the opposing team's recharge station, or the smaller, harder-to-hit target visible either through grates on the second floor bridge or up on the ceiling from underneath the second floor.
Green Circles: Pillars. The rules of the arena forbid players from climbing these.
Pink Walls: Low walls, about as high as a dining table. Players can duck behind these for cover, and still be able to shoot over them.
Green Walls: High walls, reaching from the floor to the ceiling. These are good cover and can be shot around, but also obscure vision.
Yellow: Ramps leading from the first floor to the second floor. These are solid and cannot be hidden beneath.
Light Blue Walls: Covered tunnel. There are no windows, and the lights are a little dimmer here.
Orange Floor: The platform "bridge" hanging over the middle of the arena. There are moderate walls along all sides of the bridge, which allow players to shoot at the other team on the first floor while not risking being shot over. Climbing on or leaning over these railings is against the rules, for obvious reasons.
HOW TO PLAY LASERTAG
Players are evenly divided into two teams- "red" and "blue". They wear vests with glowing red or blue lights on the chest, shoulder, and back. Attached with a thick cord is a laser gun which fires harmless beams of light.
The lights on the vests are targets, which may be tagged by the other team for points. Chest shots get you 15 points, back gets you 10 points, and the small shoulder targets get 50 points.
You can also score points by shooting the targets at the team's base (200 points) or the smaller target under the bridge/through the grate (100 points). Shooting either of these sets off an alarm to call the base's defenders, and they can only be shot every few seconds.
Wearing the vest, there is a small display on its front which is angled so that the wearer can glance down and see it. This display will show you your lives, ammo, and total score, like this:
10 | 60 | 010 is the maximum lives, 60 the maximum ammo, and there is no maximum score.
When you run out of lives or ammo, you are unable to shoot. You can still be shot, but no one can get points from shooting you.
By returning to your team's base, you can replenish your lives and ammo to full.
ARENA RULES
Keep both hands on your gun at all times!
No running, crawling, jumping, or roughhousing!
No climbing the obstacles!
Keep a distance of at least 3 feet from other players!
The game begins when the music starts. When the music ends, head out of the arena!
If you run into technical difficulties (non-functioning guns or whatnot), just leave the arena and you will receive a voucher for a free game!
OTHER ARENA NOTES
The only light inside the arena is provided by black lights, which makes it easy to see the flashing lights on the vests of the other teams.
A fog machine makes it hard to see more than several yards.
The walls and obstacles are all made of a soft plastic over a bit of cushioning, over metal girders. You won't hurt yourself too much by slamming into them, unless you're really unlucky and slam right into the girder.
