The Goal! As most of you know we are currently planning to advertise the guild as to get roughly 50 people in here at any given time. While doing this is our first plan of action, we also need to be preparing for the guild's Anniversary that will be comming up in a little over a month. The more people we get working on this the bigger and better the party will be, so for right now consentrate mostly on our plan to bring people into the guild and then work on this second. I hope to start advertising for the Anniversary one week before it begins, giving maximum time for word to spread, and the more people we have in the guild to help, the easier and faster that goal will be to accomplish. After some discussion we've decided that for this party we want to at least go for the goal of 10,000 posts!!! We've been able to hold some pretty big parties in years past, and I think if we get everyone's support this goal will be in our grasps. So please, post your ideas about what you would like to see in the guild's anniversary party, and what you think would attract more people to the party. We will use any suggestions to help build the invitation and create a plan of action for getting people's attention. If we can get everything put together and get people excited about this party, then I'm sure we will have a blow out and one of the biggest parties this guild has seen yet! So get those brain gears turning and help us have the best anniversary ball we can!!

Suggestions/Ideas Ideas for advertising:1. Make threads in Forums(Go to forums with an attention grabbing title and use the thread to get people excited about the party.) 2. Guilds(If you are apart of a guild, use that to try and get people excited for it. If you can talk the guild's captain into wanting to go, they will be more willing to help you advertise in said guild.) 3. Subscribed Threads(Go to threads you visit often and try to get people there excited about it, the more they know you the more likely they are to come.) 4. Friends(PM or tell your friends about the party and try to get them interested in going.) 5. Member Invite(PM any member that has been on in the last month, but not in the guild and tell them about the party.) Ideas for during the Party:1. Avatar Contests 2. Lottery 3. Secret suprises?! surprised 4. Free avi art 5. (Just remember to help out with goal for 50 people at any given time right now. It's currently the most important mission, and after we get it started and going we can all focus more on this goal. However, if you have an idea that you're afraid of forgetting or just want us to know, don't be afraid to post it. Any help on both plans is greatly appreciated.)

Ideas for the party... Some party games with prizes 3nodding
Idea for advertising: how about making a thread in the Registered Guild's forum to advertise the guild and the party...
Invite some people who post decent sounding posts in the General Discussion. Or find a thread where the subject is something like "we want old gaia back" or..."gaia oldies" or something and post in there and invite people from there.

*sighs* I don't think that wanting thousands of users coming through the guild in less than a month is the best goal. I know at times it's better to aim high and miss than aim low and miss, but when it comes to mass psychology it can be better to aim low and hit. We've never had a party get over a few thousand posts. I say we aim for 10,000 posts at the party right now. If things in the guild go better than we could ever predict, we can amend the goal, but for now, aim for something we can hit.
Events during the party. *Avatar contest (prize to be determined, provided by me, greater than 1,000,000g in value.) *Lottery (All proceeds go to prize, supplemented by 500,000g by me). *Roleplay fun (to be discussed in mod forum as not to give away secret.)

I can see what you mean about aiming too high and all that, I just got really excited about the idea and like to think that if we could get others excited about it then they would want to spread the word and so on and so forth. Easing back for this party wouldn't be too bad of an idea, it would allow our guild to retain the new members and hopefully get some more people interested in the guild. If nothing else my goal is to have the idea in everyone's head's that at some time, maybe not this year, we can get a party set up that is so grand it will have all of gaia talking. mrgreen xp
(I'll edit the first post tomorrow when I've got more time.)

Well, if we advertise, be sure to mention the ridiculous gifts being given away for participating in the contests.
Oh yeah, the four runner ups for the avatar contest will receive Olympics Tshirts.

So we've decided to bribe our party guests? Always the best way to get people to come. xd

I totally understand where you're coming from, Chaos, but too much enthusiasm can be a bad thing. Each time I decided to take over Gaia I was euphoric, and it fell apart quick. What we need is a group of able-minded users who want to see a nice community with lots and lots of members, and we need these few people to be steady, but ambitious.
I appreciate your ambition, Chaos, but remember the current gold-centered paradigm. This website's most prolific guilds are polls. You have to be prepared for indifference, and keep searching for that those few users who want to come here and have a really good time.
A good reference for this guild would be a spam-free chatterbox.

[King_Chaos] It's fine, I understand, but a spam free chatterbox? By golly I'm not sure if you could call that a chatterbox at all. lol Yeah, it seems like a deliberate oxymoron... But if you THINK about it, if you pulled all the spam out of the chatterbox, you'd mostly have games, hangouts, and informal discussions. *nod nod*

Well this guild is a spam-free chatterbox when you think about it. You should also focus on the idea that the members respect each other here and don't foux on stupid immature topics like you find in the chatterbox..

Alrighty, first post updated.
So basically we need to focus on respect, games, fun, and overall a community feel when trying to get new members. For the party about the same things only obviously adding in large amounts of free gold. xd
Edit: Also, what do you guys think about inviting members of the guild that may have forgotten about us? This is a long prosses, because we did it last year, but basically it's just going through the member's list and finding people who have logged on sometime in this month and PMing them an invite. If you all think we can do this then we'll just have to get people to help send invites to them and pick certain page numbers for each person.

That would be great Neduls. 3nodding
If we do go ahead with the member invite plan I'm going to need people to help me with that. We did it with two or three people last year and that was just a pain, so if we can get at least five working on it, that would be great.
