There it was, it was done, the lie was told, and the pup was safe within the pack now. Alas had saved one of the pack, and she had tried to cover her tracks so that her new pack would not suffer for her need. She curled herself around the small blue and orange pup and gently touched her nose to the warm fluffy pelt. She would explain to Crunch, and with luck, and love he would understand and accept Tempeste as his own.
"It'll be okay now...you'll see little one" The pup was healthy and strong and starting to open her little eyes, Alas doubted she would have any memory of Agua Azul at all. She glanced at the entrance to the den and inhaled, there he came.
She hoped this went smoothly, she felt the hardest part was passed.

 Gracia had came by and told him that Alas was back in the territory. Not that he wouldn't have found her scent once he had gotten to that part of the border, but he moved towards the den on large but swift paws. For such a big wolf, he did move well.
Alas was talking to someone, a small someone from the sound of her soft voice. "Alas? Who are you..." the words died in his throat. There was a small pup behind her on one of the piles of fresh bedding, courtesy of Gracia.
"Twist gave birth a couple weeks ago," not a question, but a statement it was obvious this was the daughter to the stormy wolf. His dark blue eyes looked out at Alas from under his red lightning eyes.

Alas looked up at her mate her eyes filled with too many emotions love, hope, concern, guilt. She knew what was done could not be undone, now all she wanted, all she needed was her mates understanding. For his statement she gave only a soft nod, she would not lie or attempt to make her deed seem anymore wrong or right then it was.
"Her name is Tempeste." Alas murmured softly and slowly moved away from the pup to sit before her mate, and future alpha. She feared for a moment that Crunch would turn her away with her small burden to keep his pack safe, but she pushed the fear aside, she had to trust that Crunch would understand and accept the pup and her actions.
"I would raise her as my own, I know Akiiki Chibale has so much love to offer..."

Dark blue eyes followed Alas' movement as she came before him. His eyes betraying no inner thoughts, but his standing wasn't that of anything but wanting understanding.
He listened to the name, "Tempeste," he restated in a whisper looking down to the small ball of fur, voice soft and gently. Almost like he was trying to get a feel for it.
Then Crunch moved his eyes back to Alas, this time eyes showing love reflecting out of them. "And we will never take that offer from anyone, that deserves and seeks love," he spoke swiftly, "Was it hard to get her out of the pack?"

Alas felt her heart expand in her chest at Crunch's words and she knew that she could never love anyone as much as or in the way she loved her mate. She let out a soft sigh and looked down at the small ball of fuzz.
"The hardest part was not getting her here, or even covering scent or tracks...it was the lie. Twist was...cold I'm sure she felt the loss, but not the way Wazaam did. He is just a pawn, and I feel badly for causing him grief, but in the end I hope someday he can see that I saved at least one of them."
She moved to nuzzle Crunch lovingly thankful for his understanding. "I told them she was dead, I hope that way the pack won't come under fire for what I've done."

Eyes hardened at the mention of Twister and her cold side, and even her pawn of a mate. "Twist is far from being a kind creature, so I don't know if she could feel anything for anyone but herself. As for her...pawn, he let himself get into that position, and even turned his back on his siblings. I have no compassion for them." The words matched his harsh dark eyes. "Besides if he is to blind to see the good in saving at least this one, then he is worst then his 'mate'."
Feeling her nuzzle, the large blue male looked at Alas and then to Tempeste, then back to his mate again, "I know that lie had to be horrible for you." He spoke in a comforting manner and moved to sit if not lay down beside her and the new little one.
"She'll be raised up with Musketeer's pups, well young teens now. She'll know what it is like to have a loving family and someone that cares for another."

"She's very young...I doubt she'll ever remember Agua Azul, but I will need to find milk for her." She nodded softly to herself. "Being raised with Musketeers pups will be good for all of them. I worry for little Moranna, she's quite frail, we will need to take care when the harsher seasons come."
Alas moved to nuzzle her mate tenderly. The lie she would have to live with, and she could. She hoped the pack embraced their adopted daughter as well.
She gazed at Crunch and gave a soft smile. "It will be good practice, our first pup." She gazed down at Tempeste tenderly, for a moment she remembered a younger Twist, so eager, so ambitious. Alas had felt so tenderly for the young alpha female, yet as a maternal figure she seemed to have failed her. She would make up for it though, Tempeste would know love and family.

That was true, the little girl, Tempeste, he was still getting use to it, was awefully young. Turning his head and gently stroking the small pup, so tiny and yet he could smell her strength already. "Do you know where you can get any milk?" his questioned turning an ear towards Alas.
Blue orbs locked on the..their first little girl, she was too young to recall anything of Aqua Azul. Wasn't that how they lost their sister? Him and his siblings lost Hershey, sheesh he would only know his lost sister by her pelt, after all there couldn't be to many wolves out there with their name scrawled across their side...okay with that particular name.
He placed his paw upon Alas' and gently nuzzled his nose into her warm neck, and as if being able to read her mind spoke. "Twist was already lost when you found her. She played you, thi...our daughter will have a chance that Twist was born without."

"Yes the milk should be easy to acquire, I may even be able to provide it myself..." She murmured softly and nuzzled the stormy pup before licking Crunch's muzzle.
"I will save this one, love her as my own, and never allow her to be touched with the darkness that Twist held in her heart." Alas nuzzled Crunch lovingly, thankful that he understood and was willing to aid her.
She curled up beneath her mate feeling safe beneath his dark blue frame. She longed to remain now, but still her time must be divided, it was not yet time to fully leave Agua Azul. She nuzzled beneath Crunch's neck "Will you watch her for me this evening?" She looked at him hopefully needing to leave and find herbs and such if she was to attempt to induce her own milk.

"That is an oath that I'll see the whole pack will also make. Agua Azul is like a disease and it needs to be cleaned out of the woods, but for now, Twist will be fretting over her remaining pups and not plotting anything." Or this was his spoken hope.
Crunch looked out towards the door of the den, and then back towards his small personal family, his mate and adopted daughter, though he wouldn't call her that from this day forward, she would just be his daughter. Then he thought of something, if she was a great wolfess, basing her faith were it was taught to be in Akiiki Chibale then she might even become the next Alpha. It was one of those things that would have to wait, cause he was no where near ready to hand over his family even to his daughter.
"I'll watch her, do what you must, and be careful," he murmured into her ear.

Alas nuzzled Crunch again thankfully, lovingly. She nodded in hope that he was right, Twist would be occupied with her pups. She moved out from beneath the protective stance of her mate and nuzzled him once more before standing and shaking off.
Alas moved over to the tiny pup and gave her a tender lick before nodding. "I'll be back with milk before dawn." She smiled at Crunch "I'll be careful."
With that the pink healer headed away from the den, though her heart would always remain there with her beloved and now her daughter. She gave the softest of sighs and glanced back before finally heading out in earnest.

Watching and listening to everything Alas said he gave her a gentle lick before sitting down next to Tempeste again. It was going to be a long night, but it looked like the little pup was going to just continue sleeping soundly. Did Alas take note of the pups before choosing this one?
He wouldn't ask, and so he laid down and placed his head right next to the small form of the stormy girl.

The smell of the early pre-dawn morning breezed into the den, his nose twitching as his eyes moved towards the entrance. Crunch was sitting in the little nook of the den that allowed him to watch the entrance and the main sleeping quarter with ease.
He had gently moved Tempeste with him to his little post and was waiting for Alas. "She should be getting here soon," he thought out loud and then looked towards his daughter.
"Your mother will be bringing you breakfast any minute."

Alas had quite an evening trying to produce milk but finally her body had responded and she knew she would be able to provide just enough to quickly wean Tempeste onto softened meat. She had set back off towards the scent of Crunch when her morning took a turn.
There in the darkness of the too early morning was a small white ball of fur. Alas came closer at first thinking it was a tiny rabbit, she blinked and tilted her head at the scent, no rabbit...a pup. She looked around concerned and scented the area.
Alas returned to the tiny white and pink pup her heart tight with emotion, she had found the parents, the rest of the litter...what had killed them? She looked down and frowned this little one was no larger then Tempeste as Alas approached and lightly nosed it the tiny pup scrambled eagerly over and began to suckle.
The pink healer frowned before lightly picking up the tiny white and pink female. If Crunch understood then Tempeste would have a sister, and the girls would be their family. She headed back off the scent of blood still strong in her nose.
Finally Alas reached her mate and new daughter her eyes gleamed at first with love for Crunch before she moved closer the little pup still held tenderly in her jaws.

The sound outside the den got the alpha's head turned towards the den entrance. The paw falls were already apart of his recognization, he knew it was Alas, the dark blue eyes were warm in the morning at the sight of his mate. Although, a small movement drew his eyes to the ball of white and pink fur in her maw.
His first thought wasn't anything but what popped out of his mouth, "What happened to her family?" the pup's scent was all he needed to know her gender.

Alas set the pup down beside Tempeste and nudged the two together. The pups she noted curled close instantly. She sat close to Crunch and nuzzled his chest lovingly. "All dead...they were torn up by something...a bear maybe?" She sighed softly.
She gazed up at Crunch her blue eyes warming at the sight of him. "Our family?" She looked down at the pups hopefully, she wanted to raise them right, to prove that no matter their origins they could be loved and learn to love in return.
