About Rose

About Ellie______________________ Rose sat in her garden waiting for Ellie. She sighed and shuffled her feet a bit. It had been a very long time since she had willingly hung out with someone other than one of her family members and she seriously wondered what she had gotten herself into.
Ellie wasn't a bad sort. Not by her standards, actually. A little crazy maybe, but unlike most foxes she'd met, most definitely not fake. And in her opinion, that was all that mattered.
I'm still not sure this is the best of ideas though, she thought and kicked a clump of dirt away from herself. But of course, Rose had been through worse before. If things got to be too much, she could always walk away.

Ellie smiled as she trotted towards Rose and noticed that she had been led into a garden, a very beautiful one at that. She paid more attention to the plants then she was Rose at the moment. After sniffing a little to hard and getting a face full of pollen she shook her head and turned back to Rose.
"So, we planting something or what?" she asked boredly and a bit rudely. Not that she could help it, she had never exactly been good with people, or other foxes for that matter.
She sat down waiting for her anwser when she realized something. Ellie couldn't remember the fox ever giving her name. Now, either she had been being rude and missed her name or she just hadn't told her it yet. Ellie couldn't decide weather to ask or just guess, because she could ask and either be told it or et yelled at for being rude and if she guessed she might get it wrong or the fox would ask why she knew her name when she hadn't told her, that or there is a slim chance she'd get it right....

Rose smirked at Ellie's brashness. She stood up and patted the leather bag at her neck. Then pointed to a row of freshly turned earth.
"You were the one whom said you were bored. We're going to add a row of rose bushes today. And if we get done with a reasonable amount of time left, we can weed and then water the preexisting plants," she pulled the pouch from her neck and opened it, spilling a couple of seeds unto her paw to give to Ellie. "If you think you can handle it of course."
Even when Rose was hanging out with potential friends, she still had an attitude. She'd be lucky if she didn't scare a crazy vixen away from her.

Ellie glanced at Rose before examining the fresh dirt, obviously where they were going to be putting the rose bush seeds.
"Yeah, Yeah, I know I was it's just..." she trailed off, not bothering to explain any further, figuring it wasn't any of Rose's business what her thoughts were. "That sounds nice and....relaxing I guess. And, yeah I can handle it" She glared slightly at Rose for insulting her. She took the seeds from Rose's paw and scooted over towards the holes in the ground.
She waited for Rose's signal that she could began planting, be decided to ask a question as she waited, "So, do like do this a lot?" She asking, glancing out of the corner of her eye.

Rose watched Ellie swipe the seeds from her paw and walk over to the overturned dirt. She smiled faintly and surprised herself.
She liked Ellie. Strange, Rose really didn't like anyone.
"Yes," she said in reply to Ellie's question. "I do this 'a lot'. More than a lot actually." She gestured around her at the very large garden. "All of this needs to be constantly cared for. No one else is going to do it and besides I wouldn't want them too. So I'm out here almost every day."
She stuck a seed into the earth and covered it over. Then she moved onto the next patch.
"What about you Ellie?? What do you like to do?"

Ellie gave and amused snort, "How can you do something more than a lot without being completely consumed by it?" She asked before looking around before giving another snort and going back to planting the seeds, "Never mind, you do this more than a lot" she teased
The nest question caught her off guard. No one ever really bother to get to know her enough to eve ask a question like that. Frowning, after a quick pause in planting she spoke. "I guess I like to sketch..." She thought aloud. It wasn't her only hobby though. She often liked to go outside at night to think too, but she wasn't sure if that was a hobby...

Rose smiled and planted another seed. Teasing was a strange concept for her. She wasn't sure how to respond so she answered the question honestly.
"I can't really be consumed by it if I like it in the first place, right?" she commented, a bit of laughter in her voice.
She nodded when she heard Ellie liked to sketch. The vixen had that kind of artistic look about her.
"I would love to see some of your work, some day," she told Ellie, while she dug a tiny hole in the ground. "I'm sure you're very good at it."
She said this a little awkwardly. Rose wasn't good at compliments. In fact her first instinct was to sneer at Ellie, for something so trivial as sketching. There had been a time when she really would have been delighted to see Ellie's work. But time, and certain other events in her life, had made her cold and cynical. Asking after Ellie's sketching was now to her what a fish must feel trying live on land; it just wasn't a part of her nature anymore. But for the life of her, Rose was trying.

Ellie laughed, "Actually, you can" she said, responding to the conversation about being consumed by something.
Ellie glanced up at Rose slightly, with a skeptic look on her face, and then went back to planting seeds. "I don't know, you don't sound very enthusiastic" she mumbled under her breath. "And im only average at it..." she contradicted the last part of Rose's statement a little louder that before, so she'd be able to actually hear that part.
She looked up again at Rose for a minute, examining her slightly, before speaking, "Im out of seeds"
