I could hardly believe it was Father's day when I woke up this morning. I woke up, moments before I had to go to church (just got back, btw), more than a little groggy, and not really in the mood to go to church ( sweatdrop ). When I came on youtube just minutes before we (sister, brother-in-law) left, it donned on me that it's Father's day, considering there were like 20 different Father's day videos on the new videos section.
So, because of this, I wanted to share all this with you.
God is our Father. Our great, loving, awesome Father.
Lately I've been feeling like the only relationship that I have with God is a servant's relationship. Not saying that we aren't servants to God, but I had been feeling like that's all I am to God: a servant that He truly doesn't need, considering God does not need anything, and just a guy He'll call on the last day and say, "well, servant, serve me." Again, I'm not trying to say that I'm not a servant of God, because I am. But I tell you, feeling like that's all you are to God kinda...well, sucks. And with good reason! Because if all I was to God was a servant, I wouldn't be able to say this now.
Watch this video real quickly, if you will.

Powerful, huh? I think so.
If you read Romans 3:9-17, you'll find that all are sinners.
9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
13"Their throats are open graves;
their tongues practice deceit."
"The poison of vipers is on their lips."
14"Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."
15"Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16ruin and misery mark their ways,
17and the way of peace they do not know."
18"There is no fear of God before their eyes."
Doesn't all this sound terrible, and kinda hardcore in the way God is describing our sin? No wonder we were dead, gathering wrath upon ourselves!
The way the world views people who do wrong is obvious: they are hated. How much more does a holy and righteous God hate sin? Like, INFINITY!
If God is a righteous judge, which is true, then what would we be to God? Criminals. We are worthy of death and damnation.
So, we criminals, are worth nothing but to be chaff for the fire.
Yet what does God say?
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
WOW!!! God so loved the World that HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON!
Do the math here (I SUCK at math, but this is easy)
Jesus equals infinite worth, for He is God
John 1:1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
God became a man.
John 1:14
14The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
He was given as a sacrifice for us sinners.
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Sinners =criminals
God=Righeous judge
Jesus=God
Jesus=God became a man
We, who are sinners, are worth nothing. At least, in some certain way, we have no worth because of our sin. God is worth EVERYTHING.
God=everything and more.
Sinners=nothing at least in some way.
Yet, to God, WE ARE WORTH INFINITY.
Why?
Because Jesus is worth infinity, as God. Yet, He gave Himself for us, worth nothing in comparisson.
As the scriptures say (I can't find the exact scripture), "Who are we, LORD, that you'd take notice of us?"
God so found it to His great pleasure to save us, worth nothing, by paying for us with an infinite price, God Himself.
AMAZING!
Romans 8:28-39
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[m] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 1:10-13
10He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
Luke 12:32
32"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
Dear brothers and sisters, God is our Father, and He DELIGHTS to give us the Kingdom.
Lately, I've been on a downward slope with God. My hreat for the past month has not been wanting to praise Him like I used to, or talk with Him like I used to, but I tell you, I love my Father God. He has not forsaken me, nor will He ever. I want you to know that, if you feel this way, that God is not looking for a way to push you away whenever you screw up. He paid with Jesus, His own Son!
Praise God, for how Wonderful, Loving, Merciful, and may I again stress LOVING He is.
Happy Father's day God! heart heart heart heart heart He's the greatest Father and more!

Now, I didn't just want to honor God with this. I also wanted to honor our human fathers as well. I know that some of you have had bad times with your human dads, and I'm sorry if this will offend you. But I did want to honor dads as well.
My dad passed away when I was 5 years old, so I did not get to know him as well as my other family members. However, I do know that he loved me, and that he cared for me and my family, and that he is an honorable father. I remember the times when my dad would comfort me when I was afraid, or hug me when I was sad, and play with me when he could, and all the good things. I remember his discipline, which was never pleasant, but neccessary. God is also like this with us. He disciplines the ones He loves. Praise God for that, because if He didn't do that, we'd be evil, spoiled, bratfaces. Anyway, I wanted to honor my earth father as well. For all the years, good and bad, no matter how short they were, I love that man. And Jesus honored me with him.
Happy father's day, daddy.
Please, this is an open forum for anything you want to share about our Father God or your dads. Praise God.
