Fachtna was rather enjoying adulthood, and he found the solitude he needed to keep himself content. He was able to hunt as much as he wanted, and kill as much as he needed. It was a bit strange not being around his family anymore, but he supposed it was a good thing at the same time. He needed to develop his own personality and habits, and he had never taken the time to do anything of that sort. Personality wasn't important to him, and his reluctance to speak in his youth made him rather strange as an adult. In his mind it didn't matter either way, since it was his way of doing things that mattered. But from a social point of view, Fachtna was incredibly odd and dull. Luckily for him, many didn't live long enough to actually see any personality in the first place. But for those that did, he really was something to remember.

Masquerade sneered as she pranced along beside a lesser grounded foal, she seemed at first to be acting kind .. even friendly to the other, but there was something bout this little kalona filly that gave her away to the quick witted. Maybe it was the crazy grin showing every pearly fangs, the bloodstained horns, or the wild ominous glow to her pupil-less eyes. Maybe it was even a mix of all three factors that in any smart creator would have set off alarms to stay far far away. She cackled "well ... momma always said lessers were a good source of protein ..." the little kalona squealed suddenly and launched at her prey fangs flashing ears laid flat. Her wicked back curved horn was lowered ready for a death blow until another scent drifting on the breeze assaulted her. Skidding to a halt she swirled around forgetting about her prey and giggled even louder. The small brown and blue filly watched the woods in the direction from which she thought the source of the scent was coming.

Fachtna was soon watching something interesting alright, and his thoughts were quickly interrupted as he noticed the Kalona filly in the distance. She looked busy with some useless prey, and that was refreshing. He found himself grinning at her little cackling noises, and it reminded him of his sisters at youth. She seemed to have noticed him quickly though, and he made his way out of the woods, but didn't come too close to the filly and her prey. It wasn't his ground to intrude, and it was her hunt, her game.
He remembered all of his hunts, and all of his colts and fillies that never returned to their family members. Those were some of his best memories, so he wouldn't intrude on the little one's adventure. She was interesting to look at, and her eyes were definitely appealing. She would scare many in her youth, and even into her adulthood as well. Hopefully she would grow up strong and well, and he wondered where her parents were, and if she was off rebelling or something. He would find out later, and just watch things for now.

She spotted the red kalona stallion and her ears pricked forward, he was grinning at her .. already See knew he wouldn't act like the sparkly black stallion she'd met before.
One ear twitched towards the sound of her retreating meal and she giggled a mock sickeningly sweet sound and whirled around taking up the chase. She was a small kalona filly, almost tiny, a lot like her mother whom was very small herself. Masquerade had a good quality though, she was a little speed demon, the filly tucked her wings close lowered her head and moved like greased lightning after her prey.
It didn't take her to long to catch up, and when she did Masquerade went instantly for the death blow, lowering that wicked horn again she rammed it between two ribs, through a long, and into the heart. She yanked it back out skidded to a halt as her meal fell behind her.
Spinning gracefully she picked up the carcass by a hind leg and trotted back towards the kalona stallion not giving a second thought to the blood rolling down her horn onto her forehead.

Fachtna was glad to see that the filly finished her deed, and he watched as she dragged her win back towards him. Was she trying to get some kind of praise from him? He was rather large, and he assumed his presence was intimidating. But, he was staring down at one of his own, a filly that was just his size only weeks ago. He supposed he could compensate and show some kind of emotion for her.
"Nicely done." he then said, while bowing his head a bit. "Your footwork was great, just make sure to work on that technique of yours, that horn will come in handy many a time in the future." It still felt a bit strange to be talking to someone else's Kalona child, but he had no reason to ignore of harm the thing. He noticed quite a few Kalonas on his endeavors out, and they never harmed him or insulted him.
His parents had taught him well about his race, and he would abide by their teachings as much as he could. And now, he was staring into very young and new Kalona eyes. He had no idea what to DO with a younger Kalona, so he only stared back for a moment, before saying, "You should enjoy your meal, too." He wasn't being kind, but he was being civil. He rather liked being civil, and it was the same civility that he used with his sisters.

Masquerade dropped her kill a few feet in front of he older stallion and tilted her head up to look at him. "Thank you sir" she grinned psychotically, the filly seemed a little out of her mind at times and at others she seemed almost perfectly normal. Her tail flicked lazily behind her and she tore at the grass beneath her with a bright blue hoof.
"You like, or at least don't mind, my extra horn?" she cocked her head genuinely surprised then grinned wide bearing her fangs "most of our brethren thinks it means I'm a unicorn half-ling" her tail lashed angrily at the thought. She released the tension in her wings stretching them up, the black leather was transparent showing he world behind her in a hazy shadow.
"I really only eat the flesh of the legs then chew on the bones, you can have the rest if you'd like." The little filly liked being around her own race and didnt mind sharing what was hers with them as long as they returned civility, besides momma had said she needed to listen to her elders and their views before completely deciding on her own.

Fachtna snorted quietly, before putting the facts in front of him together. It was true that the filly carried a strange horn on her head, but to him it looked nothing like some of the other unicorn horns that he had devoured in the past. He could understand where other's confusion and concerns might have come from, but he wouldn't see to other's opinions. He had his own to carry, and there were many facts that made sense to him as well. "If your horn is bloodstained and screaming for death, then it is most definitely not unicorn related." And that was a good thing, for if it was, there would be a problem for the filly.
He was surprised at the filly's next offering, and he only sneered a bit, since that was 'his' own way of smiling. "Don't worry about me, I had my own share this morning." He lowered his head to quickly sniff at the kill, and he brought his purple eyes back on the filly's. "How come you are alone?" It was good to be on one's own even as a young Kalona, but he wasn't sure if he should be worried at all, since the child was alone. "And what do they call you?"
His body was still firm and strong against the ground, and Fachtna found it necessary to hold some kind of dominance over the filly in front of him. He carried more age then her, so he felt it was his duty to somehow offer her knowledge of some sort. The filly had already killed something, so what else could he possibly do? He would have to come up with something, but until then he only stood with a normal aggression, and his tail swayed back and forth as the wind moved at his sides.

She flicked her ears up to him and grinned before lowering her muzzle to take a large chunk out of the carcass' leg. She chewed for a moment then swallowed the hunk of flesh and spoke "well, my horn was passed down form my momma. She has two a straight almost unicorn like one and one like mine under it and they are connected by a bloody chain." She lowered her head and munched on another mouthful and spoke again "It's a trait passed down from her family lines ... but she says there has never been any unicorns in or family line."
"Momma doesn't mind me wondering off alone, though I think she sometimes follows me form the air," she looked up scanning the sky "she wants me to meet other kalona, learn about the views then form my own based on what she's taught me and what I've learned." Masquerade seemed to have calmed at the moment but here was still that ominous insane glow in her pupil-less eyes.
"My name is Masquerade," she giggled insanely the filly knew very well what her name meant and the fact that she lived up to it all the time. "What did your parents name you?" She cocked her head genuinely interested, this older stallion was probably the closest thing to a friend she had at the moment.

Well, it was a relief that he didn't have to kill the child. Although he loved unnecessary killing, the child was proving to be entertaining, and it was his first real conversation away from his family. It was a sign of growing for him, and he decided to just go with the flow, and see what the little one had to say. Maybe he could teach her a few things along the way as well. He remember being taught himself by some random Kalonas. He may not have shown a lot of emotion to others, but he still thought like everyone else did.
"My name is Fachtna." he then responded, while holding a straight face. "I look very similar to my grandfather, being as red as blood. And so my mother named me after him." He wondered if he was ranting about his grandfather, but he was incredibly proud of his heritage. "Is your mother strong?" He then asked, with a tilted head. "My family is very aggressive and scary, so I am always interested to hear how other Kalona families work." His family was huge, and when they met in a group together for any other creature it must have felt like hell on earth.
"What would you like to learn?" he then said, with a lowered voice. "I'd be happy to comply somehow." he then paused, and shifted his hoof. "Or really, what does your mother want you to know?" The child knew of death, and that was a good start.

Masquerade stood proudly perking her ears "my mommy is very strong and a very proud kalona unlike some I've meet in my travels associating with kalona-unicorn half-lings." She growled low in her throat at the thought of the stallion. Masquerade seemed to have a deep seeded hatred for the half-lings, maybe it was because she was thought a half-ling?
Her tail lashed angrily behind her but then the crazy grin came back "I'm not named after any of my family, but I don't know many of them." She made a movement like a shrug still grinning "I bet it's nice to have a big family, I hope I have a large and proud kalona family some day."
She shrugged again "she really wants me to learn how other families see the lessers, my god-daddy says half-ling should be tolerated as long as they reject their weaker blood for kalona blood, mommy believes that to an extent ... but I don't know what I believe besides that I hate unicorn half-lings and want them all dead." Her eyes flashed angrily and she growled low in her throat.

The stallion grunted slightly, since the thought of any lessors or half-flings made him sick to his stomach. "Well, you have plenty of time to meet them." He then responded. His mind was already plotting some kind of attack after his encounter with the filly, especially since she had already mentioned some creatures that were in bad taste for him. His mind was focused, and it was vulgar in thought.
Her statement about her parents made him twitch slightly, and he wondered if a beating was necessary for them. "The thing is, lessors can never be tolerated. They have a place on this earth, and that is under our hooves and in our stomachs." his teeth were now showing, and he wasn't working very hard to contain his anger anymore. "If you want to be successful in this life, then you should understand the truth about lessors. They are despicable, and will always be jealous of our perfection. Kalonas must stand strong to unite against the weakness in this world. We have to make ourselves stand out, and since we already do, we have to continue to strive in perfection. So, what will you do?"
His purple eyes were narrowed deeply on the filly's, and he was quite intimidating from a birds-eye view. "If you want unicorn half-lings dead, you should expand your list to include many of the other scums that exist."

She watched hi meagerly as he spoke of the lessers and their inferiority. Her tail was twitching happily behind her and she seemed all ears to him "So .. god-daddy Incubus is wrong?" she grinned "i didn't think he was right ... no half-lings especial uni halflings can be one of us ...ever." She tossed her mane and straightened up standing proudly "if your willing to show me the way I want to be a good strong kalona!" The spade of her tail twitched slightly back behind her and a cruel grin spread across her muzzle
She nodded her head when he told her to expand her horizons, and she turned to look at the carcass laying in front of her and a wicked smile spread across her features. "Isn't it our duty to weed out weak blood too? Those who don't prove themselves true kalona?" she cocked her head to the side ears swinging back an forth. "Mother has spoke of such intentions while in her crazy rants, and sometimes when she prays to the raven god Kalona himself to strike them down or show them the light and the error of their ways."

"No, they will never be one of us. There is a reason that they are tainted with some sort of blood somehow." Whoever the other idiot was that spoke of this 'maybe circumstance', Fachtna was not enjoying their words to her at all. But, it was his job to tell the filly how it was, and he most certainly would. It wasn't the filly's fault that false information was coming to her. It only bothered him to hear of a Kalona speak so shamefully.
"Well of course. It is our job to cast punishment on those who are not worthy. Even if a lessor idolizes you, or would become your slave, that makes them even less worthy in my eyes. I'd rather they fight against us, it keeps things bloody and less boring." He growled slightly, but his words were making him more excited then usual. "Your mother has the right idea, but she needs to do the job herself. That's why Kalonas are given our powers and capabilities, our blood lust makes us able to kill when necessary. We have a job to uphold, and it is vital that Kalona continue to do their duties."
He paused then, while looking down at the filly once again. "If you plan to commit to all of these things, then you will have a prideful and brilliant life. But if you fail somehow along the way, then I'm afraid someone will have to dispose of you." He was only speaking the truth, and he cocked his head proudly while speaking of the usual judgment. "What else do you need clarifying for?"

She listened intently ears perked forward and tail flicking excitedly behind her, for the moment she had forgotten the meal at her feet and the rumbling of hunger in her belly. She mused to herself frowning "hrm, God-daddy Incubus is from Wrath's line .. I thought they were a proud line .." the filly pawed at the earth tail flicking angrily back and forth, how could he tell her such lies?!
She nodded her head "I don't want a lesser slave, I only play with their heads .. sometimes I drag the game on for days and days earning their trust ... then when I have it.." she snapped her fangs together and giggled insanely "I love my games, it's fun to watch the horror freeze upon their faces when they die, their last thoughts of how they were to stupid to see through my masquerade."
The filly tossed her mane ears flicking back then pricking forward again "I don't plan to fail" she stamped a hoof in determination "yet if I do, I shall only deserve the death that a true kalona gives me." She still did not plan to fail, she would fight hoof and fang to be a true kalona.

Fachtna shrugged slightly, since he had no idea to what the Kalona filly was talking about. "I have never heard of that family line, so I have no input or suggestions really. But from what you've told me, he doesn't seem very proud at all. More idiotic to me." Pfft, if Fachtna had disrespected his family like that, he would have allowed his father to kill him quickly and painfully. "Lessors are lessors for a reason, there is no gray area for them."
It was amusing to hear of the child's games, and Fachtna remembered his own when he was little. "They do make hilarious faces." With a low chuckle, the stallion stretched his wings out a bit, since he was feeling more stiff then usual. He'd have to plan a kill or two for later that evening, since he was feeling rather dull for some reason.
"Well its good you have accepted reality." he then said, with a firm nod. "If you keep yourself on the right track, you'll be fine." he hoped that was convincing enough.. he didn't want to have to create an enemy or something. But still, she was only a filly. He could have faith in her abilities. His own parents had done that for him, so the filly deserved his brief time.
