A cool summer breeze swept past the large stallion's body as he seemingly pranced in the meadow. His wings began to move up and down, which was a silly attempt at flying. Just recently, he'd met another flutter, who was well, fluttering around. This caught his attention, mostly because he'd yet learned how to fly.
Dichali huffed as he gave up, but the stallion continued to prance, deciding to practice something new. He held his head high and raised his tail and wings, hoping nobody was watching.

Tuli made her way through the meadow, she was on her way to a nearby stream for water. She'd been visiting with her brothers and was making her way back to him home for the day. She hummed pleasantly to herself as she walked along, the breeze twirling the feathers that hung from her ear.
In the distance, a flash of bright orange and yellow caught her eye. At first, she thought it may be her mother, but then she recognized the stance of a stallion. She squinted a bit as she slowed her pace, he seemed to have wings...but they were unique in shape to her. What was he?

Dichali slowed when he noticed something in the distance, and finally stopped when he made out what it was. The stallion blushed fiercely, glad that the mare was far enough away not to see. He lowered his wings and stood staring at her. What should he do? Should he approach her, or would that be too bold? Perhaps he should let her come to him? But would that make him seem as if he didn't want company? Despite all of the questions running through his head, he nickered a greeting and stayed put.

Her ears flitted as she heard his greeting. She sounded a nicker in return. "At least he seems friendly," she thought to herself, she continued making her way closer to him. Her vision slowly picking up on his features.
A few yards out, she called out a greeting to him, "Hello!" she smiled, her tail swished back and forth quickly. "You've lovely wings!" She couldn't think of any other reason to give for approaching him. She wanted a better look.

His... Wings? Of all things he figured she'd comment on, he didn't think it would be his wings. His haircolor would have been understandable. But why his wings? Were they really that special?
"Thank you, Miss. Yours are quite beautiful if I do say so myself." He smiled politely, unsure of what else to say or do. Meeting others was just so new for him.

Tuli stopped, her cheeks blushing slightly. No one, besides her family, had ever called her beautiful. "Well, thank you." She smiled and lowered her head in greeting, "My name's Tuulikki....But most just call me Tuli." She raised her head again, the smile still on her face. "I've never seen wings like your's." her own wings moving slightly enough to make her feathers ruffle. "Did you get them from your parents?" her head tilted.

Dichali kept the smile on his face as he answered. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Tuli. I'm called Dichali." He nodded and looked back at his wings. "Really? I didn't really think that these kind of wings were that rare." His brow furrowed at her question. In truth, he'd never met his parents before. Only his adoptive parents Dusty and Eton. "Well, I suppose I could have. I'm not really sure, though. Never really knew my parents."

"Oh," She changed the subject back to his wings quickly, "I'd say they're very rare. I've never seen wings without feathers before." She took a few steps, extending her nose close to the wings for expection, "May I?" she just wanted to see the texture, they seemed so light. "I've only ever seen wings like mine," She spread one of her wings, then folded it back in casually.

"Really? I've got this cousin, Amitola, who's got wings kind of like this. They're a different shape, though. And pink." He noticed his rambling and stopped talking for a moment. With a brow raised at her question, he grinned. "As long as you don't plan on eating them, I don't see why not. Sometimes it's like they aren't even there."

"There's more like you?" her ears perked with interest as she listened to his story. She carefully nosed one of his wings, they were almost transparent, they seemed so fragile.
"They seem so light. Do they carry you well?" Her head tilted again as she looked back up to the stallion. She was glad he was nice and not offended by her many questions. Some soquili were put off by her curiousity.

"Well, I don't think I made Amitola up... Though it could be a possibility." Dichali grinned at her while thinking about his 'father's' imaginary friend, Smit.
He looked down at her question, trying to hide his blushing. "Well... Uhm... I wouldn't really know. I never learned how to fly."

"Well, that wasn't exactly what I meant." She laughed, casting a playful grin at Dichali.
"You haven't learned yet?" Her eyes widened a bit. "Oh, you've got to learn to fly, if you're able! It's a wonderful adventure." she got a little excited, "It's easier to glide than to fly...especially in the beginning. Have you jumped off a cliff or something high?" she didn't realize that seemed like an odd question to most. Like her father had shown her mother....he also showed Tuli how to fly by having her jump from a cliff into the safety of a lake below. It was a family thing she guessed.

His green eyes widened at the question. "Jumped? Off a... Cliff? Can't say I have." Dichali tried to think of it as logically as he could, but jumping off a cliff just didn't seem... Logical. He could see how something high may work without getting hurt too awfully bad, though. Maybe she was just exaggerating? The stallion hoped for her sake that she was. "May I ask how you'd manage to do that without killing yourself?"

She watched as his eyes widened, she looked at him curiously. "Without killing yourself? You land in the water, silly!" it didn't cross her mind that some cliffs had nothing but rocky ledges and solid ground at the bottom. "You should try, really. That's how I learned!" she whinnied a bit. "My father took me to a cliff not far from our home," She stopped for a moment, she was able to laugh about it now...it wasn't so funny then, "He basically scared me into jumping. But, it worked!" her wings extended and she fluttered them quickly.

Oh. Water. He hadn't thought of that. The only cliffs Dichali had seen were no place close to water. "Of course... But, if I tried, wouldn't it look silly? I mean, a full grown stallion jumping off a cliff in an effort to fly?" With that, he fluttered his own wings and chuckled at the thought of him flailing and flapping his wings in the air.
