Gear walked on his own through the valleys, lost in thought. He'd been feeling... off for awhile now. He was having a hard time remembering things and keeping track of what day it was. It disturbed him. Not to mention the flashes of a different life... where he and his brother got along. But no.. Steel said Quicksilver was an idiot and she was always right. Though... maybe...
He sighed and crouched down, it was harder to hide as an adult, watching where his other siblings were. A part of him longed to join them... but another part screamed at him for even thinking of it. They were worthless and could never appreciate his talent... right?
"What are you doing?" Steel asked from behind him
He winced and turned, backing away from where his siblings were "I was just watching them... know thy enemy and all that.."
"Hmm... don't get too close. Quicksilver and Phoenix would like nothing more than to take advantage of your talent."
He sighed "I know Steel... but maybe..."
She looked at him sharply "No maybe's. You look peaky again... here.. take your medicine."
He made a face but obediently drank the potion she handed him and made a face at the taste. After a few moments his face relaxed and he smirked.. oh yes... there was no more doubt. He was on the right side. And without giving another glance back.. walked back to the caves with Steel.

"Come on, Phoenix," Quicksilver begged his sister, absentmindedly spinning one of his gears. "This has gone on long enough. Something's wrong with Gear, you and I both know it. Steel must have re-wired him or something..."
"I know, Silver, I know," Phoenix sighed. "I mean, I don't think she re-wired him since he's an organic. But how he's acting, what he's doing....it isn't right. And it's not our like brother..."

Dragon made his way over quickly, wanting to tell Phoenix what he just heard "Phoenix!... You grew!" he shook his head "But never mind that... I just saw your brother and sister. I couldn't hear everything but it seemed like he was confused. I think he's sick cause your sister gave him 'medicine'.."

Phoenix nodded, "Yeah it was kinda sudden..."
"Wait- what?" Quicksliver frowned. "Medicine? No way...I bet it was a potion! Or poison...I wouldn't put either past Steelfire..."

Dragon shrugged "I don't know but he drank it and seemed to get better from whatever was confusing him." He frowned "Do you think she's controlling him with it?"

"Of course she is!" Quicksilver leaped to his feet. "That fiend! She's somehow warped his perception and convinced him that we're the enemies!"
"But then..." Phoenix frowned. "How do we help him?"

Dragon frowned "He's an adult already like you... he might be starting to fight it on his own. I think we mainly have to get him away long enough for that potion to wear off." He sighed "If we can destroy all of it that might be helpful too..."

"Right!" Quicksilver said pacing, already formulating a plan. "So we just have to kidnap Gear, stash him somewhere Far away from Steelfire, and wait for the potion to wear off..."
"But how would we destroy the rest of the potion..." Phoenix sighed. "And even if we did, she could just make more, couldn't she?"

He shrugged "I have a feeling he'll be more on guard if he's off it. I doubt she'll be able to slip it to him again. I'm not sure how we'll destroy it though.. or even how we'll get him out.."

Phoenix nodded, "Right..."
"Ok..." Quicksilver frowned. "This is us, this is the cave..."
