 He was a living sparkle factory, Vibrant knew that, they had made his whol life a living hell and now the only creature he ever loved had left without a word of goodbye. The stallion snorted and tossed his long mane and let his glowing orbs explore the world around him. Spring had come and gone and now summer time was here, the whle world was bright, and hot .. oh man it was hot. Vibrant shook his entire body and let off a rain storm of sparkles. "Well .. there is a lake near here ... a dip would be divine." With a flick of his long tail Vibrant Shades of Death was moving forward the skull on is rump grinning maniacly ot at the world on either side of him. The sun was beating down on his deep black coat and made ViSoD alittle uncomfortable It wasn't long before he saw the sparkling waters of the lake before him and VSoD picke dup his pace hooves drumming lightly against the hard earth. Without a care he leapt at the edge and dove right into the waters sending up a large splash.

After having been cooped up for a few days. The young mare decided perhaps it was time to get out. Just, leave her mother for a bit and do a bit of her own wandering. Soul searching. Her other siblings did it, so why not her? Apparently there was something out there that they had found that kept them away for so long.
As the day grew longer, she had found herself wandering at a nearby lake. The beaded bracelets around her front legs clinked together as she came to the edge. Peering over to look at her reflection. A small sigh passing through her dark gray lips. She had spent much time trying to make her...plain look all the more special. Taking on these bracelets and putting flowers in her hair. Maybe she needed brighter colors?
But her thoughts were broken as the sound of hooves thundering against the ground and the sudden splash in the water caught her attention. And--before she knew it. A large wave of water was coming her way. And as it hit, a look of utter shock completely washed away her current look of displeasure. And there she stood. Soaked. Curly hair matted against her body. Small petals from her flowers were dislodged and stuck in bits of wet mane.
Could today get any worse?

Vibrant's head popped back up facing away from the mare, his long mane spread out across the water around him in a bright tri-colored veil. He swam in a circles and his bright red glowing eyes fell on the mare and he paused barely remembering to kick his legs to keep himself a float. "Oh...oh dear..." he swam quickly for the shore and climbed out sparkles falling from his body with every drop of water that ran off his coat.
"I'm sorry .. I didn't mean to splash you." He shifted nervously back and forth on his hooves turning his ears back slightly in a sad way.
Darn him, he was so odd around mares and he always had been but it seemed worse now after he'd lost his love. The whole world had seemed to go dark on him, everything was either black or grey nothing lighter or brighter, not even his amazingly bright and sparkling coat seemed anything more than a grey blob to him now.
He shifted his mane and watched her with his sad glowing eyes, he could only hope she wasn't ad ... er too mad anyway.

The mare blinked rapidly. Trying to keep the water from getting into her eyes. But alas, there was only one thing to do. And it would finish the job already done on most of her flowers. Taking a few steps back from the water's edge, she shook her entire body head to toe. Water droplets spritzing everywhere, carrying bits and pieces of her gray flowers.
Still, her mane stuck to the sides of her neck, face and her forehead. Though the sudden sound of a voice startled her just a bit. Taipa had heard the sound of hooves, but never really expected for the owner to just pop out of the water like that.
Glancing at the stallion through her wet hair, she managed a small smile. "Its fine. I was thinking about getting new flowers. I don't think these ones really suited me anyway."

He smiled as well as he could and forced his ears to flick back forward. He stepped back carefully and shook himself as well sending droplets and sparkles flying in a cascade of bright rainbowy light. His mane looked wild after the vigorous shaking but he didn't bother to try and fix it. His glowing eyes studied her carefully, she was a natural colored mare with bright teal/aquaish tribal markings. She was very pretty, very pretty indeed.
"Ones that matched your tribal markings would look very nice, or even ones that matched your eyes."
He nodded as if agreeing with his own statement and flicked his long tail back and forth across his rump which covered and uncovered the rainbow skull and cross bones.
"I'm Vibrant Shades of Death ... but most just think up a derogatory name for me base doff my sparkelyness .. or call me Vib" The stallion shrugged, he no longer cared what anybody called him, there wasn't enough life left in him to care.

Taipa turned her face away as he shook himself out as well. Not wanting anymore water to get splashed into her face. Even if it were just tiny droplets being shaken off. She had had enough of being wet for one day. More than enough, indeed.
Her eyes looked down at the petals that had finally fluttered down to the ground. Pawing at them for a second with a hoof. She kind of liked the gray colore of them. But still, they probably blended more into her mane and tail. Looking up at him, her smile grew just a bit more. "I suppose. Kinda wanted to stand out, but I guess gray flowers on a mare with gray colores of her own don't really stand out huh?"
An eyebrow raised as he mentioned derogatory names because of his sparkles. And her head tilted just slightly with curiosity. "I don't see why someone would do that. Just because you have sparkles. It makes you...unique. Different from the mundane in fact." Bowing her head slightly, she blew a small puff of breath to move the wet curls out of her eyes. "My names Taipa. Its a pleasure to meet you Vib. Even if our meeting was a wet one."

He smiled slightly at her, but it was obviously forces, he was the picture of despair despite his tyring to look happy.
"Well, most don't undertsand a sparkly sallion they think I'm more femanin than I should be." He made a movement like a horsey shrug, "it doesn't bother me much anymore though, I just kinda let it slide and move on." His ears perked at her name and he siled again, atlittle less forced this time and shook his mane again.
"Your name is very beautiful, it suits suh a pretty mare as yourelf very very well. My own daughte is a natural colored mare, ut she's got different hues of brown to her with a soft brushing of bright hwite sparkles to her," he chuckled "you'd almost never know we were relate dunless ou saw her mother."
The stallion stepped foreward his bloody looking silver hooves striking the ground softly now "would you like to walk?" He cocked his head to the side making his mane cascade across his neck almost the the ground.

"Pfft." The sound she made caused her lips to smack together just a bit as air passed through them. Just because one had sparkles didn't make them femanine. "If you want to call a stallion femanine, you'd best be going after one who was all pink and girly looking. But--theres nothing wrong with a pink stallion either. I've seen a few around who weren't girly at all. You shouldn't be called names just because of what you were born with." She wrinkled her nose lightly. "You really shouldn't just let them call you names like that. But..." Nibbling on her bottom lip, she tried to remember what her mother would say in this kind of situation. "Getting into fights about it either is no cause for solution. Unfortunately I'm not as good as giving out advice as my mother is."
Taipa's smile grew a bit as he complimented her name and apparently her looks as well. She'd never really thought she was all that special. Her older siblings had really caught all the looks. Even Chidi had the white face mark of their father to make him stand out. "Oh? So you have children? That must be nice. I think..that if we all looked similar to our parents there wouldn't be much variety in the larger families that are out there. I, myself, do not show any majority when it comes to looking like my parents."
Her gaze was distracted briefly as his mane flowed against his neck. Different colored seemed strewn about, which would indeed make one stick out fairly well amongst others. Especially with the bright ends. "Sure, where to? A walk might get me a bit dryer."

He decided to answer the walk question before back tracking to the rest of her words "well, I'm a bit of a wanderer now, so just walking is fine with me unless you had a destination in mind?"
"I don't let their words bother me anymore, it's just not worth the trouble." He walked steadily keeping his footsteps light and nearly silent. It was a hot do, so he figured it wouldn't take long for them to dry off walking under the sun.
"I have two daughters, one looks more like me and the other more like her mother." He smiled sadly and shook his head "I haven't seen my other daughter or my now ex-mate in many many moons." His ears flicked back for a moment before he forced himself to perk up again "yet maybe it's for the best and wasn't meant to be? Who knows .. the gods are strange in their judgements and decisions."
"Variety is very good in a family, we wouldn't all want to be carbon copies of our parents right?"

"A wandered hmm?" Yiska was a wanderer. Thats what her brother mostly did. He'd wandered through almost the entire Soquili lands. And occasionally he'd return to them all to tell them the stories of his travels. But as of late his visits had become less frequent.
She walked casually beside him. Her tail flicking back and forth in a nonchalant fashion as the sun started to dry her off. And she was thankful for that. Cause she really didn't want to be wet. Glancing at him out of the corner of her eye, she smiled. "Well, its good that you don't let it bother you. Some Soquili have troubles with getting over those kinds of things."
The sad smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. And she frowned just lightly. It seemed like a sad subject for him to talk about. "My brothers Yiska and Chidi look more like my father. Vasu'Raj looks like my mother and my older sister Shadi and I are more of a mix really." She tried to smile just a bit, perhaps just to lighten the mood. "Maybe. My mother believes that the gods and spirits have plans for everyone. And if something doesn't work out then theres some reason for it. Like.." Her eyes lifted upward as she glanced at the sky for a moment. "Like what paths we take that don't work out aren't what is good for what we were put here for to do. And so the gods and spirits try to put us back on the right path."
She laughed lightly. "No, I don't think we'd all want to be carbon copies of our parents. Everyone had their own indiviuality and pride themselves in being different. Plus it would probably get pretty confusing."

Vibrant tossed his mane slightly as they traveled, sparkles floated off his body as he walked falling gracefully to the ground in shower of bright twinkling rainbows. "Indeed, I find it settles my mind in the hard times set in," he smiled slightly at her his glowing eyes casting a strange glow on his cheeks.
"I hope they have something planned for this ... it's very hard for me in all truth. I love watching other happy families though, it makes me smile to see them, especially the new parents." He smiled dreamily his bright glowing eyes staring off into the distance without really seeing anything that was actually before him.
He shook his head slightly and his mane whisked against his neck "I'm glad my girls aren't totally like myself and their mother, I know Morgana is strong and won't take crap from anyone."
He twitched his tail back and forth still smiling dreamily as they walked.

"Hard times..." She repeated. More to herself than him. Taipa probably had never really experianced hard times like Vib did. Or at least to the magnitude. Usually she could escape being taunted and teased. Well, except when her siblings did it. But that was to be expected of them really.
The mare straightened up a bit as her mind came back to the conversation at hand. "If I know one thing its that my mother's words are usually true. So I rarely ever second guess them. Things can get hard sometimes and you wander around going 'Why me?' when in fact you should really see the good side to things. Everyday we learn lessons. Foals learn what plants are poisonous. Wind foals learn how to fly. Life is a lesson. And if you can learn from it and put it to use in the future you will be more successful." She bit her bottom lip just slightly. It almost seemed like she was living this exact same thing with her own problems. And yet here she was trying to give another advice about learning from their problems and trying to see the good towards the future.
The movement of his mane caught her eye for a second before her eyes darted away to look at something. Anything really. Though nothing in particular. She had noticed he himself seemed a bit off in space perhaps like she had been a second ago. But it was probably hard not to be when you thought of the past and the good times. "Yes, though sometimes ones parents often hope that their young are like them in ways. The ways that count and will help them blossom and flourish in the future. To keep their noses clean and walk the right path."

Vibrant listened quietly, though he was still slightly off in la-la-land but still he made himself smile slightly "maybe you're right ... I should stop acting like a cry baby and see what good this change in my life might bring." He knew it was easier said then done though and he'd ave to work hard to look past the depression wanting to set itself so deep in his heart that he'd never shake it loose and see the joy in the world.
He chuckled softly at her last words "oh I don't worry to much about Morgana She's a smart girl, but so much different from myself and her mother that I can't imagine her having any of my traits at all. But you are right, parents want their kids to have good attitudes that will help them succeed in life. His tail flicked lightly back and forth across his rump as they walked.
"Well, I know of an apple tree nearby that always seems to have the biggest juiciest apples about this time of year, would you like to find it?" His growing red orbs watched Taipa waiting for her her answer to his question.

Her ears flicked back and forth a couple of times. "Well, I don't think your acting like a cry baby. You haven't given up on life, so that's a start? Now all you need to do is put the pieces back together and surround yourself with those who make you happy. Even if they aren't the same people who made you happy before things went a bit sour." It was true that it was easier said than done. But really, all you needed was a little motivation. And the right person to nudge you down the better path. Or at least the one that seemed the better path anyway.
"Parents worry naturally. At least parents who care. And you obviously care for your daughter, Morgana. No matter how different from you she is." She knew this from the way her own parents acted. Most of what she spoke of she had learned from them, though now she saw perhaps that all their teachings might of been some use after all.
Turning her head, her ears perked upwards at the mention of an apple tree. "Sure. I could go for a little bite."

He gave her a soft smile, she was a kind mare much like his old love Awnaety. "Thank you for the support m'dear," he flicked his tial back and forth as they traveled towards the small lake beside which he knew the apple tree was. His coat shuddered to move the flies off and sent an even thicker shower of sarkles falling to the ground.
"I know I'm always worried about my daughter," he laughed slightly. He knew he shouldn't worry so much baout her but he did constantly.
He smiled when he saw the small lake and apple tree come into veiw "well, here we are," the tree looked healthy and seemed to have a lot of juicy apples growing on it.
