She'd been trying not to grumble about things lately. She was already wanting to eat more than her usual share and she felt horrible about Taya doing all that work. But things were starting to catch up faster than she'd thought.

"Taya ... i think we should find something here ... close." She had a feeling they didn't have long so any shelter would be better than no shelter at all. There had to be caves somewhere around.

He knew it must have been hard to travel for her by now, especially through the thicker parts of the jungle. He didn't want to stop until he had found something he felt could protect them from the predators in the area, and though he didn't want to keep pushing her, he knew that if they stopped now for her it could mean bad news for the little ones when they were born.

"Just a little farther, Kinya," he said as he turned to throw a reassuring smile over his shoulder at her. He pushed through the foliage, breaking down most of what he could to make it easier for him as she followed in his wake. He knew there was something here, he could feel it. Just a little farther now.

She thought about complaining but she trusted his judgment. He hand't led them wrong before so if he said a little further then she could make it a little further. At least she could hope they found somewhere before nightfall. She'd be horribly tired by then and want a nap.

"I dont remember the jungle being this thick usually ... do you think it's rained more than usual?"

"I think it could have, most definitely," he said with a slight nod as he stalked along before her, eyes peeled for any sign of shelter. "Or perhaps we've just stumbled upon a long lost, mysterious part of the jungle unseen to mortal eyes for generations?" he chuckled at the thought and glanced over his shoulder for a moment. Even as rushed as he felt, as stressed, he could make small jokes to at least make her feel better.

It was that one glance over his shoulder that did him in, however, and he ended up tripping and falling flat on his face. With a slight 'ooph', he looked down to see what had knocked him down, spying a rather large rock that he wouldn't have missed had he been looking where he was going. He turned his head to look back in front of him, and with a widening of his eyes in surprise, found that he was staring directly into a rather comfortably-sized cave.

"How about here?" he said amusedly, pushing himself up into a sitting position. All things happened for a reason, right?

"You really think no one's come by here in that long?" She laughed softly. She doubted that. SOme sort of little creature must have even if it was only the bugs. Though they wouldn't be telling stories to anyone she thought.

"Taya!" She squeaked when he fell over but was glad that he was alright. "Don't do that ... "She nudged him gently. That had scared her. Looking up she eyed the cave. It seemed large enough and with the jungle around it would be warm too. "It seems perfect. We can stay here until the little ones are strong enough to go wandering with us."

"It's always possible, the mysterious lost lands of the stories have to be somewhere, don't they?" he said with a small chuckle, rubbing his chin with a paw where he had bopped it lightly at the ground in his fall. He was alright, it had just been a rather sudden surprise, was all.

"I'm fine," he said at the nudge, leaning in to nuzzle lightly at her neck reassuringly. He pushed himself up to his feet to look closer at the cave that loomed before them, his eyes turning to look at the jungle around them. He could smell water on the air, which meant there was a watering hole or a river running near by at least. This seemed as good a place as they were going to find. "I agree," he said softly, "we've found a home for a little while."

He leaned in to lick her ear gently, affectionately, his tail flickering behind him before he stepped forward to head into the cave to poke around and make sure there weren't any dangerous little critters.

"I doubt any sort of mysterious lost lands would be somewhere like this." She laughed softly as she padded into the cave after him. Hopefully there wasn't anything nasty already living in it, she could use a nap. "They'd be off somewhere that you had to look really hard to find."

Places like that weren't suppose to be things you could just stumble across on accident. At least not unless you were just extremely lucky. Once she'd made sure there was a nice clean spot she flopped down with a smile.

"I don't know, you'd be surprised," he said with a little smirk on his maw, though his back was to her as he poked around in the cave, nosing at bunches of old leaves that were scattered her and there. Finding nothing more than a bug here and there, and certainly nothing threatening, he let out a content nod - happy with the place.

He turned then and lay down comfortably at her side, though scooted back a little so he could nuzzle his face up against her belly with a soft growling-purr in the back of his throat. He was happy they had finally found somewhere, so she could rest for the rest of her pregnancy, and so the cubs would have a safe home to be born into. "I'm glad we finally found this place, though, I was beginning to worry that fortune had fled us for a while," his twitched behind him, brushing against the floor of the cave.

She laughed softly as he nuzzled against her stomach. It was always nice to see how happy he was about their family. He would be the perfect father, she just knew it.

"Fortune wouldn't have left us. Not after all that it's done so far." She shook her head. "Fortune doesn't bring you handsome mates and a family and then leave you flat." To ruin that sort of fortune you would have had to have laughed at it somewhere along the way. "We have all the luck in the world and so do our little ones."

He wasn't sure how good of a father he was going to be yet, he only knew that he was growing more and more excited as the days wore on. He was ready to be a father, excited to be a father, and he took that as a good sign that he was going to be a good one. He nudged his nose lightly against her belly, nuzzling at the warmth happily again. He really, truly, couldn't wait.

"You're right, it wouldn't have given us all of that and then left us on our own. I suppose we just can't have everything handed to us, though." They did have to work for some things on their own - after all, fortune had given them such an easy time of it so far. "At least now everything is done and ready, and you can rest, we can both rest, until it's time for them to arrive."

"And then i doubt either one of us will be getting any rest." She laughed softly as she shifted a bit so he could lean against her if he wanted. "I hope we have a big family ... i've always wanted a big family."

That would mean that whatever little ones there were would have plenty of brothers or sisters to play with and everyone would always have company. No one would have to be lonely too.

He supposed he hadn't even really considered until this point just how much work it was going to be to raise cubs. As she mentioned not getting any rest, he simply gave her an honest smile, his tail twitching lightly behind him. "I'm sure we'll manage, although a bigger family means even less rest than a small one," he chuckled lightly, leaning his head against her as she shifted, "but I hope we do too. It'd be nice to have a lot of cubs to play with and tell stories to."

He smiled again at the thought, letting his eyes shut partially as he nuzzled his head comfortably into her side. He couldn't wait, no matter what duties or responsibilities were going to come with it. They would have a beautiful family.

"At least there is two of us." She smiled as she leaned down and nuzzled his ear. "We'll have a wonderful family. You and me and the little ones and all the exploring that we can do."

She was sure that no matter what happened they'd be good parents. They'd love the little ones and teach them everything they knew. It wouldn't be too long now if she could tell anything about her own body. Then they would know what sort of family they'd have.
