He was lost, in more ways than one. He thought he had found the path he needed, thought he'd found a way in the world, a way for him to be normal, not to be some freak of nature whom everyone scorned. He was big enough, he had always been big enough to be a lion, the only thing he was truely lacking was a real mane.
That long fleck of hair, gold as the suns rays, that ran down his back, he decided had been the givaway, he wasn't getting a mane, he wasn't and because of that they wouldn't accept him as a lion.
Having been cast away fromt he pride he thought he would call home, the young adolecent Cheeton walked through the lands with bowed head and hungry belly. He was alone and though he was far from frightened he was lost in his own thoughts. What would he do now? The lion part of him longed to be a part of soemthign yet the cheetah side screamed for independance. He didn't know what to do, he needed guidance, if only some would come to him.

The young hybrid couldn't be more optimistic about the future, but at the same time one really couldn't tell by how quiet she'd become. Toh Ni was constantly thinking out the best course of action, the best plan that she could come up with. It wasn't that she was some type of genius, but she was mature in her late juvenile days and determined to do her -best- for this coalition, and not just half-a** throw something together. She'd spent a fair amount of time, then, consulting with older creatures for their opinions. Huang's mother, Huang himself, her father and mother, and Ausi, of course, just to gather a solid idea of what would contribute to a good, healthy community.
A council would be best, she'd decided, since she didn't have that much experience yet. The difference between intelligence and wisdom was what you were able to do with it and what you -had- done with it, and she didn't have the latter yet.
Her attention did turn, however, as she spotted Mbura and paused her heavy thoughts.
"Hey... you okay?" She questioned, pushing backward with her fore paws to sit up straight on her log perch.

His ears perked at the sound of foot steps int he foliage but he didn't so much as lift his head until he was hailed. Ice green eyes settle on the young hybred, his golden fringe falling almost delecately over one of those confused, sad eyes.
"Thats really two questions." He replied with a quiet snerk. "Am I dying? No, so I suppose that means I am okay, but am I okay really? well the answer is no to that too. You wouldn't understand." He sighed heavily and sat, assuming he was about to get in to a conversation he decided sitting was an easier option to standing on already achey paws.
Flicking his bangs from his gaze he settled his view upon the youngster before him his brow furrowing suddenly and a slight tilt of the head following suit. "Wha..uhm I mean who are you?" He blinked a few times, he felt he was almost looking in a mirror. At first he had thought leopard but then his perception had changed, this youngster was somethign like him, something inbetween.

Toh Ni blinked, confused. Two questions? Ahhh, now it made sense. Toh recognized his figure well enough to know. She knew by now that there were three major species of big cat to be considered in their spit of land: Lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Being a mix between cheetah and leopard, and having befriended a leopard and lion hybrid, as well as being well associated with cheetahs her age, and leopards older, she was relatively certain that this fellow must be a hybrid as well.
She offered a small smile and stayed fast to her perch.
"Maybe I'd understand better than you think. I'm glad that you're not hurt or dying, but if you'd like I'm still happy to lend an ear if you need to talk. You're like me... aren't you? A hybrid, I mean? Does that have something to do with your second answer...?" She questioned gently, never being too forceful with her tone.

The young cheeton tenced slightly, it was true he was soemthing else, and it hurt him that he was inbetween two worlds, he longed for the company of a pride yet strove to be an independant. he had tried so hard to become the lion, just a lion, acting eating, thinking like the maned beasts, but that hadn't worked out and here he was lost between one thing and another.
A light nod topped the golden fringe once again in to his pale green eyes and he sighed heavily. "Yes, my mother was a lioness, my father a cheetah." he sighed heavily "I wish I was a lion, I tried to be a lion.." He trailed off tencing his shoulder mucles as he did so, his current state of mind was because he was a cheeton.
"I thought maybe I could get away with it." He shook his dark head and settled slowly down in to the foliage. "I was wrong, I could have been a lion." Lifting his gaze to look at the female before him, his gaze almost pleading for an affirmation that he could be a lion. He knew it was a foolish endeavour, but still, he longed for the affirmation of his dream. Even if he knew himself that it could never be, for though he posesseed the pulky forequarters of his lioness mother, he was tall and lanky and who knew if he would ever get a mane.
He suddenly realised he'd just ranted at the female, splurging out all of his hopes and fears in one long tyrade, without knowing it he'd let all of his feelings escape and he felt a little better for it. Maybe she would understand, she was like him after all. Something inbetween. "My names Mbura." He coughs puffing out his chest to try and seem more couragous, larger, like the lion he longed to be.

She listened with patient ears, though she didn't personally know how it felt to wish to be one or the other, so strongly. There were times she longed for her father's grace in the flatlands, and times she wished she had more strength in her paws and claws like her mother, and she knew she'd always be an awkward in between, but she had learned to find her strengths as well, and that they outweighed her "weaknesses". She had speed greater than a leopard, and strength greater than a cheetah. She knew the treetops well, and had more muscle in her fore legs from the extended effort it took for her to climb with her smaller claws. She was more agile on the ground due to her lithe frame.
Mbura had strengths too, he just needed to find the middle ground as she already had.
"It's physically impossible to be anything but what you are, but you should take pride in it. We might not be full blooded lions or leopards or cheetahs, but we have the ability to balance some of the best of their strengths. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise."
Her dark red eyes observed him as he settled down, her tail lashing softly.
"Nature saw fit for us to have these strengths, just like it saw fit for them to have their weaknesses. Right, Mbura?"

Flickering his long, tufted tail he looked at the femme before him, she spoke sence, for someone so young, he felt a million miles away from her, she had found her place in the world ane he was still searching, always searching, for his. "Yes, I suppose I do have certain strengths my mother never had, but my father, he is was always soemthing differnt, a cheetah with a talent." he laughed a little, twitching his ears as he looked up in to the trees, remembering a time, not so long back really, when his father had taught him to climb a tree, with the single warning, don't rely on it, don't make the trees your home, it can be a problem.
He smiled wistfully and shook away that memory, it was a happy one, one of few he had ever had. "How did you learn this inbetween as you say?" he raised a curious brow, those pale, icey green eyes fixed upon the dark female. "I have always tried to be a lion, always, maybe it's time for a change for me. tell me how you did it." His ears perked forwards then and he waited, his eyes keen now, he wanted to learn, if she could teach him to be that inbetween, the inbetween he was supposed to be, he knew he could be good at it.
he just had to find out where to start, that was all.

"My grandmother was like that too." She grinned faintly with fondness for a female she had yet to have the pleasure to meet, but heard about through her father. "That's where I kind of got the idea for one of my talents. Maybe you have your father's too?" She stood up, tail twitching.
She couldn't have known it was the same talent, though Sauda had only ever been able to climb short trees, and it wasn't truly climbing with her claws so much as lucky, and also well practiced leaping.
"Just try different things... It was mostly trial and error, but what's important is you don't quit trying, you know?" She grinned encouragingly, staring back into green eyes with her own burgundy ones. "And if you're looking for a place to stay, you're welcome to join the Achana. It's a place meant for others like us, and anyone with an open mind. Leopards, lions, cheetahs, and of course, other hybrids."

A place to live, a place to live, to be around others like himself sounded like the best plan. he could join them and be safe, be happy and maybe learn from others to find his inbetween. "Yes, okay, I'll come with you." He smiled and puffed out his youthful chest before he clambeerd up to his foot paws. he was keen to go now, obviously the fates had led him here and he wasn't about to wait and find out where this place was, this Achana.
"I'll help you, I'm strong and sorta fast and I can climb, not as well as my father but he taught me when I was a cub." he grins broadly, a whole new world was opening up to the youngster and he could but imagine where it would lead him.
A bulb had come on in his mind now, this was what he was supposed to do, be with others like him, not afraid to be what he was, not just a lion, something perfectly inbetween.

"Well then, Mbura, welcome to the family." She smiled back, easing down from her perch to stand before him. "Let's find you a place to stay. We'll be leaving for our territory in another couple of weeks."

He gave a short nod and smiled, something good had happened here and he was glad of it. His heart felt lighter in his chest and his mind finally relaxed. family. It would be nice to be a part of a family again.
"I'm right behind you." he smiles, following the dark female off through the undergrowth to this new world, this new family.
