He had come to a decision, and it hadn't been very lightly either. His wanderigns accross the borders of the kunundanahkhun lands had become more and more frequent of late and now, now he had made a choice. It was time to leave. the thougth made a ball form in his stomach. he was going to leave all he knew, all he understood for a place which was just out there.
It had to be done, he knew it. Taking a deep breath he made a beeline for his motehrs den. He was old enough now to be sent to the Parastar quarters, but he and his brother hadn't quite been shipped off yet. Which was just as well, he needed to tell his mother he was going. She had to know, she would care, wouldn't she?

Gurami lay at the entrace to her den, so much had happened recently, her palest daughter had gone, flown the nest in search of her true love and she knew it would only be a short time before she must release her sons to the throws of the parastar. It was a hard time for her to see her family disperse, but it was the way of the pride. perhaps her most colourful daughter would find ehr way more easily in the pride. perhaps.

Guppi smiled, his mother, in the same place she always was. Shaking his head, he let a chuckle roll over his lips. "Hey ma, whats happenin'?" he smiled and padded up to her brushing his cheek against hers in greeting.
The smile on his maw creased happily, he was always pleased to see his mother resting in the same place she always did.

Gurami puurred at the greeting, licking her palest sons face, a gentle sigh rolling over her lips. "Guppi, hello my darling, I'm fine, just thinking about the fact taht you and your brother must join the parastar soon." She smiles a little saddly.

Guppi swallowed hard, he didn't expect his mother to say that, after all, she never really mentioned that fact that they must be segregated. "yeah, well mum, I kinda wanna tlk to you about that." He rubbed the back of his neck gently with a paw and looekd up at his mother with pale, lilac eyes. "I.>i want to leave mother..i met someone.." he trailed off, okay that wasn't so hard now was it?

Gurami blinked disbeleivingly. Guppi had met someone? She wondered when, she wondered how. Clearing her throat she looked at her son. she knew noone else would care that he was gone. he wasn't a female, he was invisable to the bulk of the pride, his coat colour, inherited fromt he father she loved so much, undesirable to all. Sighing she nodded ehr head softly. "I understand guppi. i really do, but, you do know that out there, things are different?"

Guppi nodded slowly. "I know mother, I know, I heard Liza speaking of the fact that males rule the roost. Sounds weird to me but, but it's not a lioness I'v found mother, she, well she's a cheetah." he paused, he wondered if his mother knew what a cheetah was. "I'm going to go to the savannah with her."

Gurami did a quick double take "A cheetah?" she raised a brow, confused by his words, she of course, knew what a cheetah was, but why would guppi give up pridal life, for a cheetah? It was a question she would haev asked, but perhaps the answer was too frightening. "Oh..I see.." She could think of nothing more to say.

Guppi felt a little taken aback by his mother, she seemed confused, frightened almost by his words. "Yes mother, a cheetah, i really like her. She's blind and, well i think i can help ehr in the world." he puffed out his chest, he felt sort of like a hero, he'd driven away ehr fear of lions and she, well she had introduced him to something beautiful. "I'm going, mother, and well, I won't be back." he sighed gently and lowered his head. "I need to find my true place in the world and it isn't here ma."

Gurami let a slow sigh roll over her lips. It seemed she was to loose two of her children to the outside, for love? Oh that darned thing called love that pulled at the heart ad told you what to do and where to go. "I know guppi, i understand, it's just, well you're so young and this, well a cheetah, i know so very little about them. How do you know she will even be there when you get back? They don't usually live in the jungle."

Guppi licked his lips and shook his head. "Mother, really now, I'm not a baby any more. i need to go out in to the world." He paused and smiled in a secretive manner "She'll be there ma and I'll learn everything about cheetahs from her. i just know it. we..i found something i needed in her. Please, will you be happy for me?"

A long exasperated sigh rolled over her lips and she rolled her eyes. She knew her son got his ideals from hsi father. Who could blame him really? he wanted to see the world, and who was she to stop him? "Guppi, my little love I won't stop you, you know that." She smiled wanely. "Please, just promise me you'll be careful and don't put too much faith in these cheetahs. They are very differnt from us."

Guppi smiled saddly and moved to his mothers side, he licked her face grooming her cheeks softly. "Thankyou for careing mother. I, well I just wanted you to know I was going. You knew I would go eventually. i..i can't stand not being loved or cared for. Not everyone is like you are with pops. I need to find some where that I belong. You know that right?"

Gurami looked to her son and nodded. Her poor boy, if only he had gained his fathers deep orange or more of her own lemon yellow. Perhaps he would not have been loved, but certainly he would have been wanted. "I understand guppi. I do, i truely do. i just want you to be careful, the outside world is a very differnt, difficult place."

The young male nodded and took a step backwards. "I know mother, i know, i'll be careful. You know I'll always think of you." he smiled widely his soft lilac eyes shimmering in the bright sun. "I love you ma." he let a wide smile grace his maw as he turned and bolted away, back through the trees. he wanted to get back to his friend, wanted to be away. he wanted to see the savannah. The grass was always greener on the other side, perhaps it wasn't but he beleived it to be and that was all that mattered.
