The mighty hunter was inching on his prey; one could see it shaking with fear. He would bring down his prey, like he had everything else he went after. After all, he was the biggest, strongest lion ever.
The butterfly he had been hunting fluttered its yellow wings as it drank from the flower. The wind moved the plant which looked like it was shaking. The first time the butterfly was probably aware that the juvenile was around was when he pounced the plant which sent the fluttering bug into the air high above his harasser, though it didn't stop the cub from trying.
Seeing his prey vanished, he sighed and plopped down, sending fluff from the flowers and seeds from the dandelion went through the air. Having lost his game, the young lion didn't have a game plan, yet. Looking to lovely white flowers, he lay and watched them dance in the breeze.

Her sister had ran off somewhere and left Naga'nika all by herself. Not that this bothered her all too much. Tiamat was much more adventurous than herself and as such, she needed to find something to do. It had been a while since she had played with her newfound friend. The thought made her smile, her parents were happy to hear that she was making friends, since she was rather shy.
After she wandered around for a bit looking for something to do, she caught on to a familiar scent. Dakarai! A smile slowly lit up her face as she flicked her tail happily and headed in his direction.

Dakarai finally stood up again, shaking off all the little bits of fluff that had clung to his pale fur. Walking over to the flower, he sniffed, the scent was really nice. While contemplating taking it back home, he thought he heard something. Ear back, the stripped cub turned and caught a familiar scent. Hoping up, he smiled brightly and called out to the lioness he couldn't see yet, "Naga'nika!" Delighted to get to see his new friend again, the blue eyes were sharply looking for her distinctive lime green coat.
Spotting green moving, he bound forward, laughing happily. The thoughts of his failed hunt far from his mind, new fun and the first adventure happily took its place.

Well, Naga'nika wouldn't have to call Dakarai to get his attention as she had already caught it. She stood all the way up so that she could catch where Dakarai was. He would be easier to see on the plains then she would be. Ah, he had spotted her.
"Dakarai!" She called out happily as she walked towards him with a shy smile. Once she had gotten close enough to the other cub, she noticed that he had grown as well! This was good, she didn't want to be taller than him, that would be too weird for her. Her head tilted, "What are you doing?" She then asked softly, "Can I join?"

Getting closer, he joyfully stated, "Its great to see you again!" He was very proud of his growing; he had a mane, of course. Sure, it was just coming in, but it was still there. She had grown as well; they both weren't little cubs, no tough grown up cubs. Secure in that idea, he answered her question, it was after all about his great game, "I was hunting butterflies, and of course you can join, I'd love to play with you more." This was great, sure, she might see him mess up, but it was fun to practice stalking and pouncing skills. They could be a great hunting team; nothing would get by them, not even a cheating butterfly.
Blue eyes shined with excitement as he wiggled around a bit, eager to spend more time with his friend, they had so much fun before! Sure, Tiamat wasn't there, but they could play again another time, he was full of faith that Naga'nita was just as fun, both lionesses were full of fun. Twice the fun of his father and younger brother combined, in fact.

As Dakarai replied, Naga'nika's eyes lit up happily. Hunting butterflies sounded like something she would do and enjoy! "Yea, I was hoping to see you around something." It was nice to have friends outside of her family that she could play with.
As his excitment shown, she couldn't help but feel it starting to take over her as well. It sounded like a lot of fun, afterall! She nodded her head and then replied, "Really? Yay!" She flicked her tail slightly before she let her gaze wander around the two of them, "Were you hunting here or going to start hunting at some other place?"

Delighted to see she was also happy about his activity, his little mind went planning. Her question was answered after a moment, "I started somewhere south, I think, but stalked the butterfly to here. There are a lot of nice flowers around here, they seem to like them." One of a hunter's skills is to know their prey, he knew his even if he didn't know that he knew it. What was clear to him, was the flapping things liked to settle on flowers and fold up their lovely wings.
It could be smelt on the breeze, but you can see the dancing flowers everywhere, surely there would be lots of butterflies around for him and Naga'nita to catch and have fun stalking.

With his answer, Naga'nika glanced around and noticed how many little flowers were surrounding them. There were plenty of little flowers around that there was bound to be butterflies for them to stalk and play with. Lime green eyes lit up at the thought of playing as she turned back towards Dakarai, "Yea, I didn't realize how many flowers were here."
Her ears flicked slightly as she slightly lowered herself to the ground and got into stalking position. With Dakarai, they would catch lots of butterflies. "Lets go and find some butterflies!"

Following her lead, he slunk down and whispered, "We'll catch lots together" Confident in both his and Naga'nita's hunting ability, he was very excited. Crawling forward, belly inch from the ground as me moved carefully. Ah, there was another fluttering bug, a lovely bright white winged butterfly. Smiling, he wiggled his hind end and crept closer, tense for the catch.

As she crept after Dakarai, Naga'nika's lime green eyes gazed out for their intended prey. It didn't take her long before she caught Dakarai's posture change. And then, she let her eyes wander to where he was looking at. A butterfly!
With the grass surrounding the two, Naga'nika looked at Dakarai before she leaned in to whisper softly, "I'll go around to the other side and block the escape path." She then took one last look at Dakarai to make sure he knew what she was doing and if he had anything else to add. After a few seconds, she turned and slowly crept around the butterfly in a nice circle before she was on the other side, directly across from Dakarai and waiting.

Watching the fluttering bug he aimed to catch, the young hunter didn't go for the pounce because Naga'nita had whispered to him. Understand, he waited for her to get into place before he flushed out their quarry. When she was in position, he pounced forward and had his paws out to catch the little bug.
The butterfly took off, but not too far, landing on what it perceived to be a light green flower, didn't seem like one when it landed though.
Daka froze and watched as the butterfly landed on his friend, lowly speaking, "You caught it!" Well, it caught her, but he wasn't going to say it, fact was it was still where it was in easy reach, and thats all that mattered.

Dakarai had pounced forward in an attempt to catch the butterfly, Naga'nika stood her ground waiting for it to try and escape the other way. She was about to stand up but she stopped herself, the butterfly was heading in her direction. Her lime eyes watched it intently as it flew closer to her, but she never expected what happened next!
The butterfly had decided that she would be a nice landing spot and landed on her head. She tried her hardest not to disturb the butterfly before smiling widely at Dakarai, "I did! But you helped!"

Daka grinned from ear to fuzzy ear proclaiming, "Of course, we make a great team!" How could they not do anything they set their mind to when they worked together? The only better team would also have Tiamat in it. Not to spook the butterfly, he watched it a few minutes, amazed by it. He still hadn't grasped the concept of what to do with something once its caught, besides to let it go unharmed, the killers instinct alluded him for the most part. For the young juvenile, that was just fine.
Of course, now with the butterfly caught, they needed a new adventure and things came to mind, "Wanna go to the watering hole? There are great flowers there and frogs to hunt! I can show you how to pick flowers too, if you'd like." He didn't know if she already knew, but since being taught the clever trick, he was more than happy to share it. Thats what you do with great things, or things that make you happy, you share them. Such was the case with the neat place his father brought him to, he planned on sharing that with his friends too. While unsure if Naga'nika would like to go as far out as that, he was sure Tiamat would be.
That was for later; even he didn't feel brave enough to venture that far from home and mother. Besides, there were plenty of adventures and little things that made nose to hunt, who could ask for more then hunting and friends?

With a slight nod of her head, Naga'nika agreed, "Yea we do!" The motion set the butterfly fluttering off her head and into the air. She raised her paw to wave at it shyly, "Good-bye Butterfly!" She watched it flutter off away from them to somewhere else.
She turned her attention back to Dakarai. Normally she would have shyly gone back home now, since she normally doesn't stay out too long but Dakarai said the magic word. 'Watering hole.' The little green juvenile loves the watering hole, its one of her favorite places to go to. It didn't take her a second thought as she nodded her head, "That sounds great! Lets go, Dakarai!" She was ready and waited for him to lead the way.

Blue eyes followed the butterfly's escape, a golden paw joining the green one to wave a farewell to the butterfly they had hunted and caught. Back to his companion, he was delighted that she had agreed to go. "Alright, race ya!" He playfully tapped her leg and turned to dart off. Running he looked behind to make sure she didn't get lost.
Leaping through the grass, he didn't want to get caught yet, but also didn't want to lose Naga'nika either. The watering hole wasn't too, too far off, so he was confident he could keep up the run until they got there, but wouldn't press faster then what seemed comfortable to his friend.
