Winter Arena

User Image

Description: As one walks in, they will see that the arena is now a lot smaller than the previous one, seeming to be starting some type of pattern. Now, the fighting area is only 100 yards in diameter, the ground covered in two inches of snow over soiled ground underneath, and the temperatures being a cold 20 degrees Fahrenheit, despite the ceiling being open with the sun shining down. However, there is no sign of a designated platform, meaning the entire area is pretty much game. 25 yards from the stands each are 10 feet blocks of ice, designated at each corner of the arena, blocky with no definite shape, yet can be stood upon with the right footing. The blocks are so thick, however, that breaking them is not something of ease, or melting them. In the middle, with a diameter of 30 yards is a sitting pool of water iced over with a nice firm sheet of ice, the water underneath being 10 feet deep. However, if it takes too much stress, the ice can easily break.

Ten Count Boundary: The ten count starts as soon as someone goes over the twenty foot wall into the stands, or into the pool of water. If a person is already in a counted area and the other fighter enters in, the count is reset. If a person is being forced to stay in a counted area against their own will, for example, by being binded by an indirect attack (such as vines, tendrils, etc.), then the count stops. However, the count continues if a person is using their own body to keep the other fighter down AND have no part of their body inside the fighting zone (as well as being at least five yards away from the fighting zone). In this case, the count is being counted against both members.

Terren walked onto the feild. A shiver ran down her body do to the cold. It only took her seconds to get use to it. Her normal attire, shorts and a takned top in black, appeared on her body. Her bare feet slapped gently on the ice as she walked to the center of the icey field. She sighed and took a seat, levitating on the air so her a** didn't touch the ground. She would have fun here.

Syre pumped a fist to the crowd as he walked out onto the icy arena. Some cheered some booed. After his last match Syre had gained some notice. Nice to have.

Syre noticed instantly that the whether was cold. No problem Syre heated up his own body and was no longer bothered by it, plus where he set his feet the snow melted giving him better footing. However there was a down side to that, the pool of water in the middle of the arena covered by a thin sheet of ice. That could be a problem if stepped on.

Syre saw his opponent waiting for him and drew his sword and dagger as he walked. No more fist fighting. He had had enough of that last round time to get down to business.

Something occurred to Syre just then, his opponent was female. Wonderful it was always interesting fighting them and a bit more fun for that reason. Syre stopped a few feet before the ice in the middle of the ring with his red hot sword and dagger in his right and left hands respectively.
"Heaven or hell baby, lets rock!" Syre would shout as he slid into a stance right foot forward right hand with sword out, dagger in chest height.

Terren turned as her opponent walked out. "A bit cocky with that fist pumping babe." While waiting, she had lit up a ciggerette. She tossed it into the sky where it burst to flames and heated the audience briefly before the flames fell away. She noted the snow melting beneath his feet and laughed. "Don't ya know, babe, that whats beneath the snow, is ice. Have fun freezing your a** off. Your not going to be able to through as powerful attacks spiritually and magically unless you allow yourself to warm up the natrual way." Terren stood where she was. Her feet touching the bare ice and snow. Nothing around her melted and Terren liked that. Her vampiric blood kept her warm, as her body was usually cold as death anyways. She flipped backwards and stood on the center of the ring where the thin sheet of ice was. Her understanding was that if she went into the water, it would be ten seconds until ring out. She would await her opponents first move.

Syre politely smiled to the girl and her comments.
"Not over," Syre tapped the soil under his foot with the toe of his boot. "here its not ice. As for heating up the natural way, this is natural for me," Syre raised an eyebrow for the last word, "babe."

Syre took a quick shuffle forward, still on land, and quickly sent his sword arm down. The heated sword connected squarely with the ice, making a large hole on impact and sending a shattering crack threw the thin ice, right at his opponent. The ice would have broken on its own but with the girls added 100 or more so pounds it would break much quicker and she would likely fall into the negative thirty some odd degrees water. Syre didn't think the cold would harm her really but it didn't matter how supernatural you were that much cold is bound to at least slow you down a bit.

After his blade hit Syre would slid back a bit from the edge and move back into stance whether his opponent fell in or not.

She watched his movements. "Predictable." She said. As his sword came down she began heating her body. When she dunked into the cold water she shivered once before pulling herself out of the cold water. She dried herself off through the heat coursing through her body. She allowed the heat to disperse, waiting to call it again if needed. She stood on the edge of the pool still, her back to it. Again, she would await the attack. She decided she would be defensive this time instead of offensive. Her left hand slid to the katana on her waist and her right hand slid behind her back and rested on the small of it. "You know, I like water." She said, chuckleing. Just then a strong, cold breeze shot through the air, making the temperature drop another 10 degrees.

Syre noticed the change but was still not bothered by it. The heat from his body radiated out and heated the air directly around him as well giving him a nice warm pocket of air.

Syre learned something from that small bit of time though. His opponent was a bit of an elementalist at least good with cold and heat likely fire water and ice. Who knew what else she could do, he also knew she was a vampire. He didn't exactly know what that did for her but it did mean she was not human. No human limitations most likely just like him.
He caught himself wondering her age but gave himself a mental slap. This was a fight not a date, sheesh.
Syre thought he would play a bit of a mind game. Nothing to it really but fun none the less.
"Predictable, maybe, but I have learned many things about my opponent. She is not effected by cold in the same manor most would be, probably the same for heat, she is a vampire, and she is a bit of an elementalist. On the other hand what do you know about me, what do you know of who or what I am or can do? As far as you know, I can make my sword glow and that's it, as far as you know."

Most likely she could tell that heat was what made the sword glow red but who knew maybe she didn't. Other then that there was very little that could be told about the the man in the red cloak a few feet away from her. Other then that he was charming and attractive of course.

His little speech took all of about eight seconds all the while he was waiting for his cue to attack. Time was good for him. Tick tock, tick tock.

She chuckled. "Ah, everything you said about me is correct." Her smile stuck upon her lips. "As for the answer to the age, I'm well over 200 kid." She said, revealing at last her mental abilities. "As for what I know about you. Lets see, you're very curious in nature, it's easy to see that you are, yourself, a bit of an elementalist, judging on the heat radiating off of you. As well, your also waiting to see how I fight." She bowed her head respectfully. "Although you won't find out, until you attack." The next gust of wind took the temperature down another 5 degrees.

"What the hell is this?"

A couple murmurs shot up from the crowd. They had come to see a fight. What they were getting now was...a debate?

"BOOOOOOO!"

Someone threw a tomato.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
PostPosted: Fri Jun 13, 2008 10:05 pm

"Heh you might be able to tell what I'm thinking but apparently you cant tell age. Over two hundred you say, well I'm not so cruel as to call you a child but if it pleases you, you can call me old man. As you said however, I wont find anything else about you until I fight. So, dance with me?" Syre said with a quick bow.

Syre was no human though he could have been mistaken for one. He was well over one thousand years of age himself. This girl was a bit cocky, but Syre sort of thought it was fun. It gave her an edge.

And with that Syre began. He slammed his sword down into the earth and as he yanked his sword up a few chucks of ruble and iced over ground came with it. He then spun hitting most of the bits of earth with the broad side of his sword like a bat.
The pieces of earth raced towards his opponent with a fair amount of speed. Syre ran after them gaining on them preparing himself for his next attack. What that would be would depend on how the girl reacted to the flying earth.
There were a few solid chucks of iced over ground in there, those would serve as projectiles with potential to cut or bruise the rest would just be distractions. All that was left of this turn was to see how she reacted.

Mean while a tomato landed a few feet from the pair who ever threw it sure was a weakling.

Terren, grateful for th earth, held her hand up and stopped the projectiles. Her deffinsive acts didn't take anything, but what she was planning would require all of her charges at top. She jumped up and over the man, pulling a few flips in the air. She turned to face him when she landed, and again, awaited his attack.

Hmph his opponent spent her move simply moving not trying to even take a piece. Well his move now.
Syre saw his opponent jump and knew where she was headed as soon as she went up and towards him. So she would land behind him. As she was in the air Syre took the necessary steps backwards, stuck his sword up in an attempt to stab her as she was flipping, and swung his dagger out. It should happen that the blade would come across her stomach as she landed. If the first attack didn't get her the second attack was very likely to.
The attack would be incredibly hard to dodge seeing as she still had to land and wouldn't have time to really move anywhere else. Unless she wanted to fall on the ground, which would probably be a very bad idea as it would be hard to get up quickly in the snow.
Should she choose to fall Syre would have a follow up attack ready. If not then he would wait for his next move patently.

Watching, or more like feeling his moves, she knew what she had to do. She unsheathed her katana quickly during the third flip. As his sword cam up, hers came down to protect herself. She got a minor scratch on her arm as she landed quickly. Her feet slipped from her, moving her into a crouched possition as she caught herself. She straighted herself up quickly. As she did so, she prepared her first attack. She took a deep inhale and blew out. Fire errupted from her mouth, much like a dragon. She moved her hands in a constant flowing motion, pulling frozen earth from the ground. The wind picked up and shot the fire shooting towards him and the frozen earth, with her pushing motion from her final hand movement went flying towards him at a nice, even 90 miles an hour. Quickly after sending off her attack she pulled her katana up and held it across her torso, awaiting him.

Finally an attack. But the girl had left her queen open. Of course the girl couldn't have known it but Syre's skin could never burn. His cells acted differently then most, instead of being burnt by fire they turned the energy of the heat into energy for themselves. Heat increased Syres ability to regenerate, his muscles to move quickly, and even for his brain to process faster.
Syre would take advantage of his opponents blunder and strike. This next attack would most likely end the match.
Syres eye's focused and his heart raced as a thin smile spread across his face. Fire sprang from the girls mouth and Syre pivoted. Fire and earth raced towards him and Syre toward it. The snow and ice on the earth melted in the fire turning it to mainly mud as Syre raced forward he found himself constantly berated by mud balls. A few shards of ice actually managed to make it to him however one cutting his cheek below his eye and another his left bicep just below the shoulder. Shallow wounds both. But he trudged on and before the fire had even ended Syre had made it to his needed place. His opponent was now quite inside his reach threw the fire. Syre shoved his right hand holding the sword forward in a lunge at his opponents stomach. All his opponent would see was a blade red hot much the same color as the flame coming at her faster then movement made possible out of the flames inches from her body. Syre would still be hidden in the flames his heat and presence invisible to her senses because of her own attack.
The sword should make its mark and impale the girl and with it Syre his mark in this tournament.

What Syre didn't realize was that her senses were still open do to his brain waves. It was true that her eyes and much of her physical senses couldn't feel or see him and what not. That didn't stop her from moving her katan slightly downwards in a blocking motion. As she blocked it, she jumped back and returned her katana to the possition it was previously in. She just gracefully shook her head. "Mind ravaging isn't it." She said as she continued to jump back. She stood again over the pool of water. Though she wasn't touching land, she could still be knocked off balance as if she were. She again awaited another attack from her opponent. She learned her lesson about the fire, and wouldn't use it again until the time was right. From her pocket she took a small seed out and tossed to an area of non-frozen earth. The seed buried itself with in it and began to sprout.

Wind - 5
Earth -10

Due to her not useing fire anymore, it allowed Terren to build her other elements up quicker.
