His eyes were becoming some sort of unhealthy obsession.
Every day he’d wake and go and test them on some distant object and every day the object would be blurred and slanted. And then he’d elapse into self-loathing and self-pity that lasted much throughout the day. Not only that, it seemed that his miserable, depressed state could only be revived by his brother – who at that time – was nowhere close by.
If only there was someway he could heal them. If only there was some way he could get them to work! But how? There was nothing neither he nor anyone could do and his future was bleak indeed.
The male, too proud to ever admit his disability, slunk onwards, head down and tail dragging. He looked rather pitiful in fact and he wasn’t even bothering to hide it. Some days it took too much effort to put on a brave face.

Bokoboko had been frolicking for a few hours now, looking despratly for something to bring back to her mother as a gift. Nana, being the oldest sibling to the litter of gods and goddess's that her mother had birthed, she was a tad bigger but-her mind was still that of a little girl. Innocent, care free. As she padded, her teal eyes blinked about as her mouth ceased to stop smiling. She padded along, her pale feet gripping the ground.
Inside, Boko had the biggest desire to be like her siblings-to be gods and goddess's... to have 'wingies'... but... she knew it was impossible.. and that she had to keep her family a bit of a secret... cause there were some who did not like gods... and she knew there were gods who would hate her mother for having a mortal daughter. It wasn't even blood anyways.
She felt her smile turn into a frown slightly, as she stopped walking so jolly-like. A bit slow and sad, though the sparkle never left her eyes. "Oh Mother." She said aloud quietly.

He pulled himself over a fallen log, dropping sluggishly to the other side. He'd not heard anything, not suspected that anyone else was close by. But lo and behold, there was!
She was close enough for Cassian to see without much trouble, a girl the colour of dust. A nice colour. A safe colour. The colour of the savannah. He reckoned she was good at hiding from danger, unlike him with his bright white pelt.
Even still, he steered away from the other, hoping she as too distracted to notice him slinking by. On a normal day he might have stopped to trade a few words, put on his 'bully boy' attitude.
But not today.
Not this day.

Bokoboko paused and lifted her head to the sky, half expecting to see Raiden Flying above making his attempts at lightening, his domain. She smiled, for she loved her sisters and her brothers very much... but she wished she was really one of them... blood siblings. She blinked, for the past images of her mother and father, were long lost. THis was a depressing thought for her and she sniffled, feeling tears budding on the rims of her teal eyes.
She knew she had them once, but she couldn't see them anymore. She could only see her new mother, Nix... and then suddenly, she felt disgusted... because her old family was gone and they left her-and Nix took her in as a starving baby. She was proud to be the child of a goddess... one of strength and power... one of such wonder.
She had lowered her head to her chest in her sorrow, but in her epiphany of happiness, her head rose and she spotted the pale one. She blinked for a moment, surprised. Wow... She was immediatly attracted to his pelt... so white and pure... like the clouds with lightening through them. She could not help but gasp...
She took a tentative step forward and felt her pink nose wiggle. He did not smell like a god, but surely anyone with that color of pelt was related to one... so pure... "Good evening." She said simply, finally.

Her voice startled him and when he looked up he looked very young, almost as if he were a tiny cub again, desperate for the comfort of his mother's embrace. He tripped and only just caught himself before he hit the ground.
"What do you want?" It wasn't the most likeable of greetings, but it wasn't said in an overly threatening way. It was more of a tired complaint, clear that the last of his energy was fading. Besides that, he'd just been caught in the most pitiful of states and now he was a little embarrased. He had a lot of pride in him, this little juvenile, and right now it'd hit rock bottom.
He'd been caught sulking by a girl!
He wiped a paw across his nose and sniffed, scowling at her from beneath a heavy brow.

Boko blinked a bit, her head cocking to the side as he asked her that question. She scrunched up her face, her blue eyes narrowing. She stood up, her front paw hitting the ground. "I didn't say I wanted anything... I just was saying good evening..." She said, her lower lip poking out, sitting down with a grunt. She turned her head away, her speckled forehead hidden under the tuft of hair on her head... she sniffed, looking at him at the corner of her eyes. "I was just wishing you well, thus starting a conversation.

He frowned and opened his mouth to give a sharp retort, but failed. He almost felt guilty now. He shouldn't have yelled at her like that, especially when she'd only said the equivelent of a 'hello'.
"Well it's not a good evening." He grumbled. "It's a terrible evening." He scowled and paused, hesitating as he glanced towards her. "I'm not the best company right now, yeah? You'd be better off starting a conversation with a frog."
And he stepped over a pile of stones as if to head on his way.

Nana could not help but feel a bit pleased that he was regretting his words earlier. She sat, her pale feet pressed together-not looking directly at him-though it was clear her attention was on him. "Well... it' is alright." She said, lowering her chin to her chest and giving her face a good wash. She wasn't used to the presence of those like herself, she was always around her god siblings... though her aunt was mortal as well, and mothered cubs as well. She lifted her head, catching his last words-before she stood up quickly and ran in front of him.
"W-wait... no." She said, throwing herself in front of him. "I want to talk to you... not a frog. I don't ususally get to talk to lions like myself..." She said, her blue eyes begging him to stay and talk-even if he was in an unhappy mood. "Please... Maybe I can help

He arched a brow. For a rather normal looking lioness she certainly seemed unsual. Just why, he couldn't put his paw on, but he was curious and who knows, maybe the chat would cheer him up.
He turned back on himself and sat, hunching his shoulders and jutting his chin. Scraggly hair fell into his eyes, eyes so pale that from a distance it would seem that he had no eyes at all.
"What do you usually talk to then?" He replied. "Ain't yah got no brothers or sisters?" He tilted his head curiously.
Snorting, he rubbed a paw across his muzzle. "You can't help me. No one can."

Nana puffed up her chest, trying to look displeased with him still but she was actually glad he was going to talk to her. It pleased her alot-and soon her little mouth lifted into a smile and her chest puffed down. Her blue eyes showed-enough-her pleasure. "Oh... Um.... I have brothers and sisters-but my mother adopted me before they were born so I am a little older-but I don't fit in." She said, looking down.
She wasn't sure if she was supposed to talk about it with others. "-Mm. My mom and siblings are Gods and Goddess's-as odd as that sounds... but its true." She said, lifting her chin high and grinning. "My family is special..." She added assuringly. "And how can you be so sure no one can help you?"

He raised an eyebrow. Adopted? Did that mean her real parents were dead, or something? A little guilt shivered inside of him but he angrily shoved it away. Hell, how was he supposed to know.
He reached the realisation, however, that not every cub had it as good as he thought. That he wasn't the only one to feel sad.
He thought of his own brother and smiled, just a little.
Then she continued and he rolled an ear forwards. "Gods and Goddesses?" He repeated the words softly. "What are they? What makes them more special than us regular lions, eh?"
He huffed. "Because they just can't, right? It's not a problem that can be fixed with a chat."

Boko sat, smiling-all happiness and sunshine obviously. Though her begining had been filled with nightmares and starvation-now she barely remembered it at all. "Yep. I was just a little baby when the god of starvation found me-said that I was dying... then a little while later-my mother found me..." She said, nodding. "And I don't regret it... being found by her. She is the best mother ever and I love her very much."
She cocked her head when a smile crossed his face-a huge grin escaping her maw. "They are gods and goddess of domains... like... my mom controls lightening and my brother-thunder... they get something that they control and care for..." She said thoughtfully. "Well... then I guess you have to find a way then." She said.
Her happiness and sunshine was showing again.
