I don't know much about guitars and don't know how to play but I wan't to start learning now that I am out of school and have more time. so I was thinking about buying this guitar, used for $175 plus $20 swhipping from a different place. I was just wondering if it was worth it, the details on the other one are a bit different, I post them. The features of the one I was thinking of buying: 3-piece mahogany set neck with Ultra Access, 25.5" scale, Mahogany body (Quilted maple top on Black Cherry finish) Rosewood fingerboard with 24 x-tra jumbo frets and gothic cross inlays EMG Active 81TW/89 pickups with coil-splitting and 5-way switch Original Floyd Rose Tremolo, Grover tuners, Black Chrome hardware, Abalone binding ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, should I buy it?

Its used but it says great condition...even if there is some minor things wrong, I wouldn't mind fixing them for the price I would be buying it for.
Note: The link is for a seven string, the one I might buy is a six, its pretty much the same, I couldn't find a picture of the six string without a direct link to where I am buying it from...but I don't trust posting it in case some decide to buy it before me.

Well, in that case, I would say that it may turn out to be a pretty good buy. It is a good price for a used but kinda low so I don't know if it will be in such great shape. But hey, if you are willing to repair it, then it may turn out fine. The guitar itself seems pretty nice but I myself am a Ibanez kinda guy wink

I know the pickups on it are really good and I really like the cross details on it.... The only thing I don't know about is the color, it shows a black one but the details say (black cherry finish) which would make it this version. .X.

As long as it's in pretty good condition, you should be fine.

Yeah, I wouldn't of recommended buying it off of the internet because before you buy it you need to play it and see if it feels alright. Some internet guitars have awful action or are top heavy but as long as it is alright smile It looks like a nice guitar anyhow and a good price for a first guitar Has it arrived yet?

Not a Schecter fan. I lean towards Ibanez and Jackson. Seems like a decent guitar though.

Well, I know buying it online is a bit sketchy but hell, if I don't like it I can most likely sell it for twice the price I bought it for seeing how a new one is about $850.
I'll let you guys know how it is when it arives, with acurate info, I'll some of my knowledgable friends check it out.

The Schecter's I've played felt good, though it's all personal preference. I too, however, own a Jackson instead (though my brother's Ibanez plays great, and is probably a better guitar).
EMGs though, are nice to get on a guitar that cheap. If they work properly, they just about pay for the guitar themselves.

I think fender stratocasters are the best ones for begginers, they are cheap as hell and work pretty good.
