Isle De Gambino had always been a very scenic place. Lots of flashing lights, ritzy stores and even the boardwalk along the beach. Damaris had been to the boardwalk before it was fun, her dad had brought her there quite a few times when she was a kid. The dazzling lights and plethora of rides made for a very enjoyable evening. Damaris was thinking about the last time she had been there when she spotted the ferris wheel off on the horizon.

She had come to Isle De Gambino to just get out of the house, get some nice salty fresh air. It was fun although she hadn't really come with anyone. She had a good amount of money, she had been saving her allowance and didn't have any plans on what to spend it on so she brought it with her encase anything caught her eye.

She was wearing a blue sun dress with hibiscuses on it. It was finally summer and she had her bathing suit on underneath. She figured that a sun dress would be easiest to get off and just jump into the water if she felt like it.

Valens had absolutely no idea where he currently was but this place was great! There was so much flash to it, things he'd not seen before now and he couldn't help but stare like some sort of tourist. The best and worst thing about this current adventure was the fact that Ellie wasn't here today. He was relying completely on his own sense of direction and it had gotten him to this place instead of the park that he had been looking to find.

The horse boy had dressed quickly this morning, having planned and plotted on how to get out the door without his Silver colored shadow following. He loved Ellie dearly, he really did but there were days when a guy wanted to explore without someone holding onto their hand. As a result he was in raggedly cut off shorts that still were covered in grass stains, his tank top was on backwards but lucky not inside out.

The one thing he'd gotten from Mr Tsuzuki on right was his wooden training weapon which was strapped to his back. He'd made sure to grab it on his way out the door thinking a park would be the best place to practice his training. To bad he'd never found the park so instead he was walking through a shopping district wide eyed with a weapon on his back... strangely enough that was almost considered normal in Gaia.

There were plenty of flamboyant and some would say weird, outfits that caught Damaris' eyes but nothing that interested her enough to send her into the shops. The girl was starting to get somewhat bored. Normally shopping was fun, but she wasn't really in the mood today. She hadn't seen her friends for a while so she wanted more social interaction.

As Damaris made her way down the street she accidentally tripped on her flipflop sending her tumbling into the person in front of her, who incidentally happened to be Valens.

"Oh! I'm really sorry, I just tripped and," She started before she looked up and noticed it was a familiar face. "Valens! Hi." She said excitedly, she was hoping to meet up with the horse boy again some time, she was overjoyed to see him.

Valens gave a sound of surprise when a girl in front of him suddenly tripped only to land against him and he instictively reached his hands to catch hold of her. He started to talk at the same time that she did as well, "Oh! Wow, are you alright?" Half worried she might have hurt herself by crashing into him. His dark eyes went wide with delight when the girl he caught said his name and it clicked in his mind who he was starring at, "Damaris!"

The horse boy's ears turned forward and his tail started to swish behind him rapidly, "Are you alright?" He asked again, sounding even more concerned now that the one who tripped was someone he knew and liked.

Damaris got herself back to a normal standing position instead of leaning against Valens and twisted around her ankle to make sure it was ok, "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, if you weren't there I would have probably done a concrete faceplant." She said with a giggle.

"So how are you? I'm really glad to see you again!" She said giving Valens a warm smile. She had a bit of a warm feeling in her tummy, she didn't know exactly what it was and it wasn't anything really prominent, just a nice warm feeling.

"I am glad I was here to help, wouldn't have wanted you to get hurt." He said, deciding that despite having gotten lost that he had ended up in the right place if he were able to keep her from face planting.

"I'm pretty good, just out for a stroll." He said as he looked around a moment before his gaze returned to her, "Exploring this new place actually, I've never been here before."

His family lived closer to Barton so it had been a bit of a walk, not that he minded since he was quite fit and he was best at the physical aspect of things. He'd not even noticed the distance he'd covered, "I'm glad to see you too. Its been to long." His mind going to the picture she'd given him that was currently framed and hanging on his bedroom wall, "How have things been?"

"I've been good." She said. She had been good, even if she had been bored, there was nothing really to complain about.

"You've never been to Isle De Gambino before?" Damaris asked a little surprised. "So you've never been to the board walk?" Well that was just nuts! Everyone should at least go to the board walk once in a while. "We should go over there, I think it's opening soon for the evening, it's a lot of fun." She suggested, she thought going to the boardwalk with a friend would be a lot of fun.

He shook his head, "I don't normally get to wander as far as this since I always have my Silver shadow following me." He said, looking over his shoulder to where Ellie was currently not and smiled, "I was able to duck out early before she woke up and head out on my own."

The horse boy seemed far to pleased with himself and the fact that he'd been able to outwit a very smart dragoness. His ears turned forward before flicking back and forth, "Nope, whats the Boardwalk?" He found himself asking.

Damaris sounded pretty excited over whatever it was so he was pretty excited to go and see what it was.

"A boardwalk is like a carnival, but on a really big dock thats over the beach. It's really fun, if you look over there you can see the top of the ferris wheel." She said pointing off in the direction of the boardwalk.

"They have lots of games, and you can win really cool prizes at games, and they even have funnel cakes!" She said remembering the last time she had been there, it had been a long time.

"Oh! Thats cool, I went to a carnival once with a friend of mine named Reese, it was a lot of fun." He said, "I hope they have that game with the hammer, I'm good at that one." He'd been able to win it the last time he'd tried proving himself against some people who didn't think he'd do very well given his age.

He fell into step alongside the girl looking forward to exploring the Boardwalk with her, how could such awesome things exist without him even knowing about them? He would have to tell Ellie all about the place after he explore it with Damaris, maybe she would let the pair of them wander farther if she knew how many cool things were out there to be found.

Suddenly he was patting down his pockets, trying to figure something out... and then gave a happy sound, "Cool!" He did have money with him. It had no doubt gone through the washing machine with the shorts last time he'd washed his clothing but it was still usable!

It was around four in the afternoon, they would have all evening to spend at the boardwalk. Damaris was really looking forward to it.

"I think they have that game, at least it was there last time I went there." She said, "It's been a while, but I remember I'm good at that game where you throw the ball at the target and then the person on the platform gets dunked in water." She said remembering when she first went there the person taunting her cause she was young, and then she wailed on the ball with her tail and nailed the bulls-eye. That was fun.

"There is a game like that? Sounds awesome." He told her, trying to picture that in his mind and grinned, sounded like something they should try, "If we can find the hammer game I will try to win you a prize." He told her, after all she had given him that drawing so he wanted to give something to her in return. He could win her some sort of cute stuffed animals, girls liked cute things after all.

His ears and eyes were moving rapidly in all directions as he took in the sounds and sights all around them, soaking it all in.

"Aww, thanks Valens." Damaris said with a sweet smile. It took about a half an hour for them to make it across the city to the boardwalk. But it wasn't a sweltering or particularly humid day so it was a pretty nice stroll.

The ticket booth was dwarfed by just about everything else at the boardwalk. Even the food stands looked bigger. "Well, here we are." Damaris said to Valens excitedly as she walked up to the ticket booth to pay to get in and get some game tickets.

Valens couldn't figured out where to look when they arrived, so many things to see, so many people, and Damaris's excitement only fueled his own making him almost jump up and down in place. He drew in a breath and let it out slowly to keep from just running forward into the thick of it all. No, first he would need to pay and he didn't want to lose sight of Damaris as he might not be lucky enough to find her again with so many people around.

He used the control techniques he'd learned from his weapon teacher to get everything inside of him under control before trotting forward to pay after Damaris did, "Cool, what should we do first?" He asked of his companion, deciding that she had been here before she was the best to get advice from.

"Hmm, well the games are the closest thing, then there's the food courts then the rides. We can just make our way around that way." She said after they paid for their tickets and went in. It was just as neat as she'd remembered.

"Hey, there's that hammer game you said you liked!" Damaris said pointing to a stand with a muscular guy with no shirt on, trying to intimidate people and make the game look really tough and manly.

"Gee, that does look pretty hard." Damaris thought wanting to see Valens do it. He didn't look that strong or anything but maybe the game wasn't as difficult as it was cracked up to be.
