Ziarre was worried about what that stranger had told her of, a vicious lioness with cunning tactics and a taste for torture and stealing cubs. From what she had seen, the Aali'makabila were still building members, and the theft of cubs--even those of that snake Fira's brood--would be a blow to the pride. Zaliwa needed to be told... Even if he didn't think a single lioness much of a threat, he deserved to know at least. Which was why she trotted towards his abode even now, hoping he would be of a mind to speak with her.

Eff Em Zaliwa was never particularly inclined to speak with, well, anyone. He avoided his new tribemates as much as possible, which would likely strike many as odd, given how enthusiastic he had been about recruiting. Truthfully, he only did it because the pride needed new life to survive. He wasn't very interested personally in anyone that joined. The lion was in a good mood today, though, as far as good moods go, and so he greeted Ziarre gruffly. "Come in."

Ziarre entered with a slightly hesitant step that was most uncharacteristic of her. Then again, she was still unused to pride life, still learning the proper behavior due to those ranked above her. So it was that her demeanor was respectful, almost meek...almost. It would be an impossibility for her to be completely so. "I've...come across some information I felt might be of interest to you, sir."

Eff Em The small lion was rather pleased to see the brown lioness' demeanor. At least someone around there understood their place below him. "Is that so?" he said in a kinder voice than he might've used with someone else. "Go on, then. Tell me."

Relaxing slightly, Ziarre began to report in an almost militaristic fashion. "I was on patrol some days ago, when I came upon an unfamiliar lioness hunting. Upon questioning her she showed no intent to come nearer to our location; in fact, she hadn't even known we were there. She was the one who told me of...a lioness, her sister I think--though she wasn't clear on that, the description led me to believe so, that calls herself Hakuna'jina. This Hakuna..." Ziarre took a deep breath before continuing, "The lioness claimed this Hakuna was a cub stealer and a torturer, and batshit crazy as well. A vicious b***h, with a red pelt and dark gold-edged stripes. She seemed...one well worth informing you of."

Eff Em "I suppose it's worth knowing," he grunted in return, flicking his tail, "but I don't think we need to worry too much. A single lioness, batshit crazy as she may be, isn't a match for an entire pride... even a small one. You, Kioo, Kamau and I could keep her away easily. Even Fira and Nyana would be able to aid us." He shrugged before suddenly changing the subject. "Fira's cubs -" there was a slight anger in his voice still "- are old enough to travel now. We will leave in the morning to begin our trek back into the mountains."

"As you say, mtawala," Ziarre replied, still stumbling a little over the unfamiliar title. "I confess, I am curious about the pride lands. Might I ask for the boon of some knowledge of the home I shall defend?"

Eff Em Zaliwa drew himself up in a proud sort of way, as he always did when he talked about his homelands. "The warrior tribe is actually in the mountains, rather than the valley where the rest of the pride lives. There is a single entrance to the valley, and that is where you, and the other ushujaa, will live. It is rocky and dangerous, which is why only the best of lions can become ushujaa." He paused before continuing. "In the north part of the valley is a great lake. That is where the mzazi, simulizi and tarajali live. It is a fairly open space. Directly south is a crop of huge rocks. This is where the Council lives. The dens formed by the rocks are perfect protection for the kikuu, the sheikh, and myself. West of the Council is the valley's forest. The mwindaji and msako live in its depths. This is where most of the valley's preybeasts live, and is therefore prime hunting territory."

"It sounds like both a formidable and a rich land then, in both game and terrain." Ziarre nodded slightly, a smile upon her maw. Not that she hadn't trusted Kioo, of course--the grey lioness seemed to lend herself to trustworthiness--but it was always good to know what to expect of a place where you very well might live out your days. "I hope to serve you well, mtawala." Bowing her head slightly, she waited for the expected dismissal. After all, she had done what she had come for, and Zaliwa didn't seem the type to have too much patience for idle chatter.

Eff Em "I expect you will," he replied, and though the words could certainly be interpreted as rude, he meant it as a compliment. Ziarre seemed like a good lioness to have in the tribe, and his statement meant to show that, rather than threaten. "If you see this lioness, let me know. Better safe than sorry, I suppose." With that, he turned and headed deeper into the den, ready to resume his solitude once more.
