So... today I came across a fanfic, that broke my mind and soul. D:
It was a Power Rangers fanfic (no, not giving you the name). In it, this monster was torturing the Pink Ranger, and... and...
Well, it was bad. Basically, you could tell that the entire reason for the fic's existence was because someone wanted to write torture scenes. Whoever they were, they had serious issues. D:
So, now, the point of this thread.
Do you read fanfics? Has any one in particular broken your brain, and made you wonder why the heck they wrote this? You don't have to give names. XD

Oh, there's a particularly nasty one that I had the unfortunate luck of coming across...
Well, I've been known to go read FFVII fanfics occasionally on fanfiction.net Well, nornally I set it to "humor" and "no rating restrictions"... well, I forgot to do the humor selection...
It involved Lord Sephiroth... and Aerith.
It... I read it a good long time ago and it still remains a memory... Just, from sheer grotesqueness...
Someone apparently had some sick, sick fantasies... Why they had to put 'em up where everyone can read them, I'll never know... I mean, it's not like I haven't seen worse from the chans... but still. @_@

where Harry and Hermione switched
bodies. Basically, Harry experienced
making out with Malfoy, periods, etc.
and Hermione, well, being a guy.

That fic broke my brain when I read it about a year ago. Dear god, man, I didn't know they made fangirls that stupid! I used to write fanfiction. I improved, but then I got into original stuff. I didn't need the springboard of pre-created characters anymore. No, I am not linking my old account that hasn't been touched in years.Admittedly? Those who read my work might say I've got a violent streak. I guess that's just how I express myself.

Ezzy- I've never really written fanfiction. I think about possible scenarios, but then I worry about screwing up canon, and then quickly toss it aside. XD

Oh wow, this thread is making me wax nostalgia. When you guys were still too young to use the intarwebz, I was reading harry potter fanfiction at the tender age of 13. That was EIGHT YEARS AGO. Fanfiction.net was so different back then. It was a community where everyone in their respective fandoms knew each other, and the admins interacted with the users more directly. And it was before the NC-17 content restriction. THAT was interesting. sweatdrop
That my immortal thing cracks me up so much. Is it real, or a work of humor? It seems almost too bad to be true. Edit: Looking at it more closely, I'd say there's no way it's real. Thank you Jesus. But it's still scarily close to a lot of fics that ARE real.
And as for things that scar, I've accidentally bumped upon countless 'romance' fanfics that made me want to erase parts of my brain. Tentacles? Snape/Hermione? With Hermione still being illegal? *dies*

where Hermione went back in time with a
timeturner and she got together with Snape,
then she shot back in time, and Snape went emo,
but still loved Hermione.
It was quite weird... but it was an alright story I guess. x//x

Merri- Morbid curiousity got to me, so I continued reading even as my mind was getting scarred. I usually don't read fanfic, though. XD
Eikichi- If the AIP you're thinking of is the same as I'm thinking of, yes. I still cannot believe I actually read all of it, even though my mind was getting scarred with each paragraph. I really think the author can't write, though. As I said, it sounded just like a vehicle for someone's sick fantasies about Power Rangers. Also, it seemed like the plot was "We're going to do this to her! Now we're going to do that to her! Let's do this while showing the other Rangers! Oh, crap, she's dead, and we can't torture her any more!". But, the description... *shudder*
Sunaya- I've heard some people say it's obviously secretly a parody, and that you shouldn't criticize it as a serious fic. But, the world may never know... and ew at tentacle rape. D:
