APE ESCAPE
Released: 1999
Story: A monkey by the name of Spector finds a helmet (pipo helmit) that provides him with great intelligence but also makes him evil. He creates helmits for his minions *other monkeys* (not as good as his of course) to fight along side him and help him in his plan of world domination.
Spike works with a Professor (the helmits inventor), and teh professors granddaughter Natalie. He then travels through dementions/times to diffrent parts of teh world looking for the monkeys and trying to capture then and Spector. He also is out to recue his friend Jake who is brainwashed to being Spectors personal Slave.
Gameplay: Traveling through to diffrent maps the character runs around and uses new gadgets during diffrent missions to capture monkeys. You're main capture tool is a net. Spike has tools to help him fight, sneak, hide, fly, and more. There are also mini bonus boss rounds which include racing (running, swimming, skiing).
After each mission there is a check off in which your progress is shown by natalie and you're led to your next mission.
Characters:
Spike: Main character who you are. He runs around and tries to save the world and stop Spector
Spector: Main bad guy who is out to dominate the entire world with a hate for humans. (He was once a part of a zoo)
Proffesor: Really smart guy who gives you gadgets and helps you along until the very end. Spike works for him
Jake: Spikes friend who later gets captured and controlled by Spector. He is a villain whom you fight with as mini games before you can move on in certain points of the game.
Natalie: Granddaughter of the proffessor she continues to help spike as well like her grandfather. After stages she gives you a detail of the monkeys you captured and congradulates you.
