So I heard a faint rumor that Sony was working on a BC PS3 with a 160GB hard drive. This, paired with the infamous moon from last month...and trio-ed with my own personal ideas makes me ask the question:
What does the remainder of 2008 have in store for us?
E3 is coming, so this would be a nice time to kick around things you think we'll see, and things we'd like to see.
Personally, I would love a BC PS3 (as I will EVENTUALLY want one, but will never buy a non-BC model). I expect Sony will do something about BC before the year is out, and I would put money on bundles timed for holiday release. If the MGS4 package doesn't do well, then they can just pack up the 80GB's with another 2008 release.
I PREDICT that Microsoft will drop the price of the 360 sometime this year. The first drop was only in response to Sony's quickdrawback, and it would be timed quite well for a $50 or $100 cut. In response, Nintendo would likely drop the Wii by $50 or more to both keep the price advantage and boost sales.
Back to stuff I would like to see, hasn't it been a while since Nintendo did a completely new handheld?

I Don't anticipate Sony to be releasing anything more than the 80GB model (which DOES have BC BTW). However, I do anticipate seeing a price-drop on both the 80GB model, and the 40GB model, as much as a $100 price drop on each. I do also expect another 360 price drop, as well as a Wii price drop.
For Sony's E3, I expect to see a strong focus on Killzone 2, Resistance 2, GT5, LBP, and more information on Infamous, God of War III, Afrika, and some probably new titles for the PS3/PSP.
I don't think that we'll be seeing Nintendo throw out a new handheld yet, the DSlite is still selling very well (Despite the PSP's growing market share). If anything, I'm sure Nintendo will be putting their focus on the Wii, with Brawl, MKWii and WiiFit out of the way, there isn't anything really major from Nintendo on the radar.
For Microsoft, I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see MS announce a redesign of the 360, Possibly with a larger standard hard drive to further push Microsofts Digital Download agenda. I also anticipate a strong focus on Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, and a few other titles...
Also, I will put money down on Microsoft announcing that they have secured Itagaki as a developer under their game division...

I would love to see some new titles for the PSP and PS3 to be honest.
And I don't expect Microsoft to drop the price of the 360. It just doesn't sound right and it isn't the right time. They'd probably do it by the end of '09 as they'll probably be getting ready for the next Xbox.
And Nintendo... oh what can I say about Nintendo. Maybe one word can put together all the anger I have toward Nintendo since they promised us new IPs , better games, and less shovelware. That word would be: DISAPPOINTMENT. We've gotten nothing but crappy Wii games (3rd party) and little to no first party games and the same can be said about the DS. Since LoZ: PH and AW: DoR, we've gotten nothing but s**t.
"... there isn't anything really major from Nintendo on the radar." On the other hand, we all know how secretive Nintendo can be and we don't know what they might have in store. Just because we haven't heard from them since their 'casual crusade' doesn't mean they will completely disappoint us at E3 and the rest of the year.

All I know is that I'm seriously considering canceling my MGS4 preorder in favor of purchasing Civilization Revolution. Just got done playing the demo and holy freaking crap. That's the most I've been entertained by a video game this year. It really sucked me in.
...is it even possible to cancel preorders?

Since I've only got the handhelds, I wanna see some new PSP/DS titles! (yes I've finally bought the ds). I feel like I have very little to look forward to with the PSP in the next few months.
Personally, I want to hear them confirm Echochrome for the PSP. PLLLEEAAASSSEEE Sony! PLLLEEEAASSSSEEEE!!!
Nintendo NEEDS something with this E3. Serously, what's coming out for the Wii?
Hopefully some surprises will be in store this E3, last year we really didn't see anythign we hadn't already seen...

Well...
I can say this there will be Wii HD announced. Or at least Wii 2.0.
I think the Prince of Persia game will be on the Wii, Rock Band Wii, Tales of Symphonia Wii, new Zelda Wii and Kid Icarus Wii.
I also think that DLC will be announced for Brawl.

@Nter: I actually should have elaborated on a "new Nintendo handheld". The DS was a complete surprise. I had a NP subscription at the time, and NOTHING (seriously) NOTHING was said until about June before the release...it came out in November, right?
@Xera: Nintendo, at this time, has no need to HD or 2.0 the Wii. Depending on the success of Wii Fit, I think the only logical route for the Wii is to take advantage or any immersion capabilities from controls to games. A release of three or four games like No More Heroes would start getting the gamers who call themselves "hardcore" interested, and would likely start the ball rolling for getting some great 3rd party games for Nintendo.
And...again...Nintendo is very secretive about stuff. Wii controls, the DS, and the final design of their products are examples of things that they held secret, and most proved to be pretty freakin' cool when they dropped. I'm always excited for Nintendo's E3 (or similar expo).

In GFameInformer's featured article for Jun '08 they talk in detail about the game and which console it will support. For right now, Ubisoft says that the Wii will not get the same game as the PC, PS3 and 360 but a slightly different game will of course modified Wii controls.

There is Left 4 Dead, Halo Wars, and whatever MS won from the lotto out of EA. My money's on Burnout Paradise, and the new Nighttime mode + Motobikes with riders on them. As for Nintendo, I can almost promise a show-off of Skate It, maybe some info on Spore Wii, snip-its of MadWorld and ToS2, and that big announcement. Sony(Im hoping) will show off Afrika, show how much people are having fun on MGO, and show off more Killzone 2 stuff, as well as announce Bioshock.

I PREDICT NINTENDO WILL MAKE 400 HARDCORE TITLES EVERY MONTH, SONY WILL DROP BLU-RAY, AND MICROSOFT WILL FIX THEIR HARDWARE PROBLEMS.
Also hell will freeze over.
But seriously, all I've heard about Nintendo is like, one big game hinted to be at E3. So don't expect some giant game orgy the likes of which the world has never seen from them or anything.

This is for you SuperJawes: X-Play's website E3 is approaching fast, folks--it's only a month away--so the rumors and information drips are coming in. Today's drip: Nintendo intends to make "core gamers" happy at E3. They want you to know it's not just Soccer Moms who love the Big N. "We recently announced the upcoming release of Mario Super Sluggers," said Marc Franklin, director of public relations at Nintendo. "Additionally, we will be announcing several new titles that core gamers will be interested in around the time of E3." We have no idea what titles Nintendo is showing, but when we find out, we'll let you know. they got this from GamePro apparently: Gamepro: Nintendo to core gamers- "We will be announcing severeal new titles at E3"
