The playground was nearly empty, despite the perfect weather and agreeable time of day to go outside and send the children scampering to the parks and playgrounds. Unless someone was hiding really well, Ferox was pretty sure he was currently the only playground occupant.
This didn't bother him, of course. He could scamper around as he wished while pondering the one thing that really was bothering him. Daddy. Or "Hell's Bells, how many times do I have to tell you I'm NOT daddy?" as he preferred to put it.
That wasn't bothering him, of course. He'd gotten that line as long as he could remember in being with Leraje, to the point where it was an amusing little game for him. No, no, it was because Leraje had taken Cel out for a round of his wild street performing scheme, and leaving Ferox here while he and the jivvin worked. No fair! He'd wanted to do it, too! But NO. Cel was the favorite! Cel was the cute one to get the money! Hmph. Ferox knew Leraje was not one for attentions and affection, but at least it was nice that he ignored the two of them equally.
Until now, of course.
Stupid Cel. This was all his fault, Ferox decided as he huffily tried (and failed) to play on the swings. Stupid Leraje.

" Youuuuu are ooold, you can't catch me" Mareike taunted Nickle as she raced down the sidewalk into the near empty play ground. For the last ten minutes she'd been scaring away birds searching the ground for grass seed and generally being a nuisance to anything she'd come into contact with. This of course simply made the thistle haired girl smile.
Spotting a strange looking child about her age over on the swings Mareike headed in their direction hoping to have a bit of fun.
Nickle followed after his daughter slowly shaking his head and yet smirking. in his left hand he clutched the bright green Frisbee that was supposed to be being played with today. Mareike would have to ask for it, and nicely if she wanted the toy later. The dark haired man was still somewhat annoyed with his inability to get respect out of Mareike.

As the strange girl arrived and approached, Ferox peered up to watch her. She was funny looking, though he wasn't about to make a big deal of it. Just about everyone he knew was funny looking. Wonder why.
"'lo," he offered as a halfhearted greeting as she drew close. Maybe she'd be fun. More fun than daddy and Cel, at least.

" Hi" Mareike returned the greeting and further examined the boy. Much like Adriel whom she'd met in gymnastics this boy had a cool looking extra limb. Sure he lacked wings like she had but still a tail would be cool to have wouldn't it? Ruffling her feathers a but Mareike smiled despite the small jealousy she felt." Who are you?" Names were important, Mareike liked to know who she was talking to.
