I'm pretty new to actually wearing lolita, and I had a question about pumps. I know that you can wear them, but do you only wear them with tights? Can you wear them with socks?

I have these shoes and I was thinking of making a small strap for them.

I vote that you don't make a strap at all, the shoe is fine. The thing about pumps is that they generally are a bit less than lolita because of sharp edges and angles. Those shoes are pretty nicely rounded, though, and don't have a super narrow heel. I would advise wearing a pair of stockings and a more classical outfit if possible, or even a gothic outfit. They're a bit too mature for sweet, in my opinion. Either way, socks are certainly permissible as long as they coordinate well with your outfit. (:

Thank you! I was hoping that they would work since I don't have enough money to buy $50-$60 shoes. sweatdrop

Also, would this skirt and this shirt and vest go together? The shirt is a kinda see through so I put on the vest to cover myself up. Please excuse my messy hair and face. ^^" Oh, and the skirt is actually ivory. The flash washed the color out of it quite a bit.

And then I was going to wear the pumps with them as well. So is that alright, or is it a big no-no?

It should be fine, yes. I'd advise making sure that your shirt is tucked into the skirt so it doesn't hang out like in the photos, and that the vest doesn't constrict the poof at the hips, but it should be fine. The vest looks short enough that your skirt will remain full.

Also, this isn't a must, but if the blouse [your phrasing confused me] is more of a cream color, you may want to find a white one soon. Not immediately, but soon, since the gingham in the skirt is white and black rather than cream and black [again, if this is incorrect, let me know; the phrasing kind of threw me].

Sorry for the weird phrasing, but you're right. I'll start looking for a white shirt very soon. Thanks for pointing that out!

It's not critical since you're just starting, but it's definitely something you'll want to invest in, since so much of lolita is just plain white instead of cream. That outfit sounds cute, though! Remember to take photos and show us when you wear it. We'd all love to see! (:

I will! My skirt should be arriving at my doorstep soon. ^^
