You have stumbled upon a mysterious shop front while walking the cobble stone streets of Durem. Random items clutter the dusty front window, but nowhere can you find a name of the shop. Curious, you decide to check it out. What could the harm be? Stepping in, a tiny bell above the door chimes, and you are met with a blast of warmth.

The shop looks more like a home than anything, and you wonder it maybe you stumbled upon a hotel. Your eyes drift lazily as you take in the sights. The entryway is somewhat tiny, with a wall of shelving for shoes directly in front of you. There is a reception desk directly to your left, but it is facing the same direction you are. No one sits in the roller chair. From there it quickly opens to a large area which looks like a living room, with an attached kitchen. The walls bulge out in giant horizontal pillars of wood, giving the effect of a log cabin. The fire place on the far end of the room is decorated with soft stones that reach to the ceiling, and the floor is decorated with a soft rug, a coffee table and some seating space.

Before you have time to take the rest in, a woman appears from a set of stairs, just around the corner from the shoe rack. Her hair is silvery in colour and pulled back, letting the bangs and some chunks fall to the side. Her bright red eyes met yours as she spoke.

"Welcome! Welcome! Please, take off your shoes and your jacket, and make yourself at home."

She smiles politely at you, offering her hand to take your coat.

Mid-afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly as one particular college student meandered idly down the cobblestone path, her sea-green eyes on nothing in particular. Dressed in faded jeans and a sage-green hoodie, she wandered the streets without much of a purpose that day, finding herself happy just to be outside, despite the mild cold snap that had come through the night before. The landscape was pleasant around these parts – the girl had never been over this direction, having had little time and little reason to do so. She wasn’t even sure what was out here, but it was enough for her content nature to just admire the architecturally stunning buildings and enjoy the afternoon air, despite the disagreeable climate. The weather was slightly on the chilly side on this particular day, with a little overcast and a lot of wind, and for some reason Robyn was reminded of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, watching some scattered leaves dance along the pavement, a thought that made her smile.

Windsday. Today was certainly Windsday.

The girl chuckled to herself at the childhood memory as she continued onward down the street, combing a hand through her strawberry blonde hair in an attempt to detangle it. The wind, however, had other plans, taking the tresses and snagging them hopelessly, all the while whistling mischievously in her ear. Robyn made a face as her fingers caught in an especially irritable snag, pulling at it harshly until giving up with a sulking huff. At twenty-one, the college student almost always wore it up in a loose, low ponytail, one that usually hung low against her neck in a casual fashion. She'd joking call it her cobra hood, for the sea-green hair band was always sliding down, her hair fanning the back of her head like an upside down halo. But for this windy Wednesday she had decided something different. This afternoon for some strange reason the silly girl had decided to give her hair band a rest and wear the slightly wavy locks loose. Of course, this was the day the weather decided to be windy – at this rate she would never get untangled when she got back to her dorm.

Halting herself in front of what looked like a small, yet comfortable shop, Robyn hastily slipped inside, both hands clamped to the top of her head in a slightly comic fashion. Her hair was most certainly a mess, and yet as her eyes fell on the shop, the slightly disheveled student completely forgot about the wind and her knotted hair, her green eyes taking in the sight. Wood pillars, stoned fireplace, a comfortable living area… the place radiated warmth and comfort, as if someone spent a lot of their time here and wanted their guests to feel at home. The reception desk, neatly organized, was the only item that gave the appearance of a shop, despite it’s backwards appearance, and of course the many items that rested neatly on the shelves. It was only after quite a few minutes of awed silence that Roby noticed the rack placed conveniently by the door for her shoes. She had never been into a shop that required you to take off your shoes, having been so use to the “no shirt, no shoes, no service” signs at the places she frequented, and for a moment she pondered whether she should or not. In the end she vouched for the former – perhaps the owner was Japanese and this was part of their culture.

It was while she was struggling to remove her shoes – somehow she had caught herself in a strange, unbalanced position while trying to undo the knot and slip the sneaker from her foot – that Rose appeared, startling her and nearly making her fall over. Somehow she managed to regain her balance and, still poised ungracefully on one leg, looked up at Rose, blinking sheepishly.

“You scared me…”

Managing to remove the now compliant sneakers, Robyn straightened, flushing slightly and removing her hoodie so as to hand it to the obvious owner of the shop.

“Thank you…”

[ gonk sorry it's so short and bad x3 ]

Rose smiled, chuckling slightly at the girls misfortune. "My apologies. Please, make yourself at home while I hang up your sweater. Or browse through the shelves if you wish." And with that, the pale woman spun slightly on her socked feet, and quietly padded over to the cabinet where she hung the girls sweater.

She returned a moment later, letting the girl catch her bearings, before asking. "Would you like some tea? Perhaps coffee?" She waited politely.

Ooc: XD Don't worry about it. Short and sweet, gets right to the point. Sometimes unnecessary dribble to fill space is just that -- unnecessary dribble.

Robyn blinked twice at Rose's apology, flushing a bit in realization. "Oh no, don't apologize!" She replied hastily, realizing that her statement had sounded rather accusing. The woman, however, had already turned away, going to put away her hoodie hospitably, giving the girl a chance to look around a bit, something she was actually quite thankful for. The room looked beautiful, and already she could see a few of the objects glinting in the sun, attracting her attention.

Stepping onto the soft, plush carpet, Robyn let her sea-green eyes wander the shelves, taking in the many items that rested there. Most of them seemed to be fairly small, at least small enough to be held, and many of them quite fancy. Tiptoeing up to a gold and white music box, she tilted her head at it, reaching forward to lift the lid. It was as she was doing this that Rose returned, and Robyn jumped again, retracting her hand.

"Ah... tea please. Thank you very much," She replied sheepishly, smiling at the owner. Very hospitable indeed.

Once again, the college student took to looking at the shelves, taking note of the pretty items that adorn it. They didn't seem to have much of a theme... unless the theme was beauty. Perhaps they were rare in some way. Robyn bit her lip. She was a college student, and while not poor by any stretch, antiques were out of her price range. It would be a shame for her to leave empty-handed though...

"No problem." She smiled, and nodded turning to walk to the open kitchen. "Any kind in particular you want?" She placed the kettle below the faucet, filling it slightly with water. She pulled it towards the stove, turning the burner on high, pulling out a mug while she waited for it to boil. "See anything you like yet?" She turned, leaning against the counter to make small chat with the girl while the water heated.

"Any kind is fine, really... if you have jasmine, I would love some of that!"

Robyn peered at the items, going slowly down the lines of shelves, occasionally pausing to look at one of the trinkets in admiration. They were all gorgeous, and many of them sparkling and glittering in the afternoon sunlight that passed through the window. And yet... none of them really called to her. Oh, she loved them all, to be sure; anyone would be thrilled to own a single piece from the shop owner's collection. But Robyn was not one who bought frivolously. Besides, letting pretty things collect dust in her closet was not her style, and her dorm room was too small to place such beautiful items on the already-crowded desk. It was a shame... they really were lovely...

Again, Robyn stopped to stare at one of the items, tilting her head to one side as she did so. A laurel wreath was directly in front of her, sitting contently between an elegant jade carving and a clear crystal sphere. It was simple enough -- no gold or jewels adorned it, although it radiated a natural beauty. The leaves were primarily a natural gold and green, looking crisp and newly plucked, except for on one side, where they had started to turn a faint orange-brown. There was something interesting about it, although the girl couldn't put her finger on it.

"Jasmine it is." She smiled, turning as a high pitched whistle started behind her. She pulled a bag of jasmine tea from the cupboard and placed it in the mug, pulling the kettle from the stove a moment later. She poured the water over the bag, letting the scent of jasmine tea fill her lungs. Once she had let it steep for a moment, she walked back over to the woman, noticing her admiring the laurel wreath. "Lovely, isn't it?"

"It's gorgeous."

For once, Robyn wasn't startled. Instead, a calmness had settled over her like a wave, a contentedness rarely felt in the hustle and bustle of every day life. There was just the now, just the present, with Rose, the shop and herself. "Absolutely gorgeous," she repeated quietly, almost to herself. The moment lingered only a second more before Robyn realized what exactly it was she was doing, and she turned, flushing a bit sheepishly, "Not that they all aren't equally as gorgeous... you have some lovely things."

Still, her sea green eyes kept traveling back to that wreath, tracing over the curves of the leaves with her gaze.
