Jess walked into the store, Kamira holding her hand. Her daughter went and got a cart from the rack, and Jess lifted her into it. "So, Kami, what should we get for dinner tonight?" Jess asked with a smile.

Shopping with two children in tow was quite the adventure. Niki sighed as first they had fought over who was to ride in the cart. The woman settled that quickly, but deeming that neither girl would and instead made both walk beside her cart as she shopped.
Allete quickly grew tired of walking and found a nice spot on the floor to sit. Let Evelyn keep walking, sitting was much easier! It required much less effort than walking. The girl started to doze off when a cart rolled up next to her. She figured it would be her mother, back to scold her for wandering off. (Which she hadn't done. In fact, her mother had been the one to wander off!)
The girl looked up sleepily and found that this was not her mother. But the girl with her had wings! And this girl's wings were different than either of her pairs!

Kamira looked down from her pech on the cart, catching sight of Allete. "Hey, whatcha doin'?" she asked. After tugging on Jess' sleeve, she had gotten her guardian to set her down. "I'm Kamira." she said, holding out a hand like she had seen the grown-ups do. Jess hovered nearby, leaning on the cart.

Allete smiled a bit sheepishly. "Nappin'..." She studied the girl's hand for a moment before reaching out to shake it. People did weird things, sometimes. "I'm Allete." A pause, and then. "I like your wings."

"Thanks. I like yours too!" Kamira said happily. Her tail swished a little bit as she looked around. "So...."
Jess smiled and shook her head. Her little Kamira could be so awkward sometimes, but that didn't make her any less cute.

Allete grinned. "Thanks..." This girl was definately safe. There were no scary purple arm things! Unfortunately, the store wasn't exactly a playground and there wasn't much to do. But she did notice something cool. "You has a tail!"

"Mm-hm, I do." Kamira said, grinning. She swished her tail, this time more pronounced.
Meanwhile, Jess was scanning the aisle behind the pair and adding products to the cart. She looked back at the pair and smiled again.

"Can I touch?" She'd learned that not all limbs were safe... so she wanted to make sure this tail wasn't going to like eat her or something.

"Erm...okay." Kamira said, sitting down. Her tail swished a smidge closer to Allete, and she folded her wings.
Meanwhile, Jess had roamed a bit farther away and had gotten the steaks for tonight. She was nearly done shopping when she came back and saw the pair interacting. Aw, Kamira's got a friend.

Allete grinned happily and knelt to touch the girl's tail. It wasn't all soft and fuzzy like her wings looked, but it was definitely interesting to touch. Allete glanced around the store for a moment. This was kind of a boring place. There wasn't much to look at... plus that girl's mommy was nearby, so they couldn't do anything too fun...

Kamira giggled a little bit as Allete touched her tail. Unexpectedly, that was her tickle spot!
Jess heard Kamira laugh and turned around. "Mmkay, you two. Don't get into too much trouble, I'm going to go get the rest of the stuff Kamira and I need for dinner tonight." With that, Jess began to cruise the cart down an aisle. When she was sure nobody was looking, after some fervent glances, she pushed the cart and then jumped onto the bed of it, riding the cart down the aisel. "Wheee!"

The girl paused as Kamira started to laugh. Was it funny? Allete started to run her fingers across the tail again when Jess spoke up. Allete grinned as her new friend's mommy left. "Wanna go find the candy?" Allete knew their was a magical place in this store that had loads of candy, just sitting on the shelves!

"Mmkay!" Kamira said enthusiastically. "Come on! I know where it is, too!" she chirped, darting through the aisles. She thought she saw Jess streaking down an aisle riding a cart full of dinner goodies, but she wasn't sure.

"Oooh, goodie!" The girl happily followed along after her new friend. CANDY! Allete glanced about at the other aisles as they passed them, looking for anything else of interest. She thought she might've seen her mother somewhere as well, but they were moving too quickly for Allete to tell if it was or not...

Kamira raced down the aisles, finally skidding to a halt at the end of an aisle right before the candy section. "There it is!" she said triumphantly, motioning towards the candy display. There was a smorgasboard of sugary treats, all lined up for the taking...
