 Things were starting to get difficult for Malice. Not only was her family in shambles over her recent bond with Toku, but it now appeared that she was already ahead of schedule- meaning, that she was most definitely pregnant! Pregnancy was only an 'idea' to her family, but now it would become a very true reality. Malice didn't envision herself as any kind of bearer of children, but it appeared she had no choice. She and Toku would soon have their own little monsters running around, and Malice was balancing a mixture of joy and fright together in her mind. Children. When she remembered her childhood, she could remember only good things. Now it was time to carry one yet another generation, and what fine Kalona they would be!
"Now to find Toku.." she then grunted, while slowly getting up from the muggy ground. Her belly had grown just a tad, and she knew it would soon get worse as the days went by. Her thoughts while walking involved Toku's mindset, and she wondered if he was prepared for this sort of scenario, or if he would get shocked or run away or something. "Or maybe this is his fault." she then muttered again, while shrugging in annoyance. Yes, blame it on him. Everyone else seemed to be blaming things on him these days, and she was starting to enjoy the constant blame on Toku as a measure of enjoyment and fun. She was sure he was tired of it, though. Pity for him?
"Toku!" she then shouted, and her tone carried a usual growl. "Are you around here?" He never went THAT far, so she hoped her calculations on distance were correct. He always woke up before her, since he was specific in what he wanted to munch on for the day.

 Toku had spent the time since the meeting, resting, eating, and spending his time with Malice, what else was there to do after the group meeting? He couldn't risk such an early reappearance after that last time. Other then that rough spot he felt things had calmed down and were well again.
Quietly he picked at the dead deer another strip of meat down the throat and a quiet sigh. He started to go for another bite when a voice cut through the woods. Malice was calling him it seemed, "Hm... another time..." he kicked the dead corpse once over to check for any last bites before turning to make way towards Malice.
Not but a moment latter he emerged from the tree's behind her, she seemed, different lately, he couldn't deny that, rounder in the middle. He didn't mind it though. She was still herself same firey spirit and deadly smile. "You called?"

Most mares were disgustingly romantic about children or they were the opposite, pissed off or something. Mares were so flimsey about life's resources, but Malice found herself rather calm and composed. She only stared at Toku briefly, before tilting her head with a snort. "I'm pregnant you know." Well, he probably didn't know, but the you know made the sentence less.. stiff. She wasn't an expert at conversation anyhow, but this was Toku she was talking too, and there was no reason to hold back or hide anything. "I don't know how many, but we will have children of our own soon."
She didn't FEEL motherly by saying such, but she did feel a sense of accomplishment. More Kalona would soon emerge into the world, and she and Toku would observe and teach them as much as they knew. The actual 'family drama' was far out of her mind at this point, and she felt satisfied in concentrating on only the offspring that would come. "Are you prepared to father them?" As she spoke this time, her voice went much lower, and her eyes scaled him carefully. "You have always promised that you would be compliant, and I think now then ever we will need the teamwork we have always shared to a higher degree." Kalona children were to be taught the future, so that they could strive and survive amongst the garbage of the world. Hopefully they would dispose of some, too.

Toku cocked his head to the side curiously, the words hung for a moment and soon she continued on he made his way closer glancing casually at the round in her stomach, so it had finally happened? He wasn't sure when, but it happened. "So it seems."
He tilted his head again letting out a chuckle, "Prepared? Of course, does that mean all will be well?" He chuckled, his voice growing somewhat softer as hers grew low, "Of course we can do this, but I do wonder, will they have their mothers pride? Their grandfathers strength? Grandmothers will?" He paused unsure of what to say, "A bit of reckless streak like me?" For one of the rare moments he gently nuzzled her neck, "They will be a handful, but they will be perfect."

She was relieved that he was calm at the strangely-put news, and she shifted her weight a bit at his unusual gesture. But Perfect. That was definitely nice sounding, wasn't it? "I believe so too." she then finally responded while lowering her eyes towards her stomach. "I'm sure my parents felt the same way with all of their children as well, call it parental intuition or something." Maybe she and Toku already had that? Or maybe, they were ready for such a task.
"But now what do we do with the family?" her question was hesitant, and she looked at Toku with some sadness in her eyes. "The children must be accepted, since they will be fine Kalona. I suppose we should give it our all and raise them to be the best possible." But they already would be the best, wouldn't they? There was hardly a need to stress, so Malice just breathed in before resting her body against a tree. "It will be a long road from here, that's for sure."

Why should Toku panic? He had wanted this, she had wanted it, finally having it was well, interesting. He was almost excited to b honest but a part of him felt the tired with the knowledge of the weight that parenting would be soon coming.
"And they were right, you are perfect Malice. Powerful, cunning, and here you stand to pass that on." He paused as the dreaded question, perhaps the biggest weight of all burden was placed before him plain, her family disproved him and what if this pregnancy and the kids? Would they be shunned as he was? Or worse? "They will be accepted, they will accept no less and nor will we." He watched her rest and he sighed softly, the hardest burdens were all about to begin. "Long road indeed..." quietly he took his place beside her, occasionally pressing his nose to her neck massaging her in reasurence whispering quietly, "We came this far Malice, we'll reach this roads end as well."
And any one who tries to stop us is dead... he thought.

With a lazy smile, Malice only watched Toku's hooves silently, as if enjoying his words a bit too much. She wished her parents could see the confidence that Toku carried, and the strength he also had as a Kalona. She saw no flaws in him, so she was determined to erase whatever they saw from the past with what he was in her own eyes. "I was never hesitant in choosing you as my mate, and I am sorry again towards what you have been through. But like you said, this will be a great circumstance and future for the both of us. And for our offspring." Would it be boys? Girls? She was starting to imagine many possibilities!
Once her eyes met his again she felt her own usual confidence drain back into her mind, and she nodded while moving her weight away from the tree. "We balance each other out well, you and I." she then commented, before chuckling to herself. "But the true balances will come out amongst the children, and like you said, it will be interesting to see who they carry-on like, and what they will look like as well." She could already imagine teaching them how to hunt and kill, and the thought was most wonderful in her mind. "Be prepared to hunt even more then we do now!"

Toku shook his head slowly smiling at Malice as she spoke, "I'm... honored you had that faith and thats why I would have no other to bare my children, and my trust." He chuckled, "Don't apologize, that was my own mistake, I brought you along you did no fault."
For a moment he seemed to understand why Rot was so strong in his decisions, why he protected Maeryn so much. But once again it was back to smirks and plotting, the words of balance hinting but not outright saying. "In time Malice, in time. They are new news still, it will take many moons before they be born." He laughed at the last part, "And on that note lets find something for you then."

"Its strange but, I think I've been pregnant for some time already. It wasn't until recently when my stomach blew up like this.. so the children could arrive at any time now." Goodness.. she and Toku would have to prepare themselves until then! They were basically ready anyhow, but mentally they needed to become prepared. Children were a handful, no matter how perfect they were. At least the raising part would be fun for the both of them as well.
"And yes, I suppose eating sounds like a wonderful idea, since I need to stay big and strong for the little one's sake." She wondered how her mother had felt while going through all of the pregnancies, and if she was careful and modest towards the life inside her. Malice usually didn't care about anyone besides herself, but now she had something else to consider. What a strange feeling that was! "Be grateful that I am not feeling moody or anything." A curved grin struck her face, and she slowly caught up to where Toku was standing so that they could leave to go find a morsel to eat.

Toku chuckled quietly, "Well it has been a while since well..." he chuckled again winking, "Soon they will arrive indeed and we will ensure they have a warm welcome to our world, and a nice fresh killed meal to enjoy." He paused, "Course that will be the only free meal I guess? Learn quick and learn young to kill and survive."
Toku continued to walk as Malice caught up, his own grin flickering on his face, "Moody? You? Never, maybe... strong willed?" he laughed, "And if you tried anything I'm sure I could handle you..." he said with a teasing nudge to the side, but it was all in good nature.
He knew very well any fight between them would be one hell of a throw down, pregnant or not, she was a cunning one sure to find a way to take him down.

"That's true, I'd like it if they learned how to fend on their own early. Its how I was taught and raised." Though, her parents were still affectionate will being stern. She rather liked that approach herself. She was sure Toku would agree as well, since they always saw eye to eye on similar survival issues.
"Well pregnancy has a tendency to make me feel like complete crap some days, too violent on another day, or perfectly fine like today. I suppose you lucked out." she paused then, while flicking her bangs. "I'll just have to stalk you out next time I am feeling crazy.. then you'll really learn the true ways of survival in this world!" With a well enjoyed laugh, she only shook her head while sniffing the air for life. "I'm too lazy to stalk for anything at the moment, so I'm happily relying on you to enjoy a kill. Think you can handle it?" She was quite humorous at the moment, but she was glad to be enjoying herself. In a way, she was thankful for the cheer she and Toku had over the upcoming children. It was a nice change from the usual events.

"Well the question is do we teach them, or take the path my parents did and simply discard the child in the woods and tell them good luck? Or did they just drop me off and wander away... I'm not sure which but it worked."
He continued walking on glancing over at Malice tilting his head, "Pregnency changes your mood? Hardly Malice, it all depends on what I've done and if we agree, we agree all is well, we don't you get pissed I get pissed we fight we bicker, we make up... sort of." He laughed at the stalking remark, "Or maybe I'll be stalking you to make sure kids don't make you go off the deep end hm?"
"Well I killed a deer earlier, but it's long cold now, I'm sure we can find something suitable to get you though, anything in paticuler you crave today? Rabbit? Deer? Bird maybe?"

"Goodness." she then responded, while shaking her head at Toku's terrible words. "I know you wouldn't want that, you've even told me that yourself in the past. You hated the way your parents left you like that.. and I would never do the same. There is a difference between harshness and punishment." It was sad for Toku when he thought about his past, but hopefully his future would be much brighter and better.
"Well that kind of fighting is on a normal day." she then said, with a snap of her tongue. It was hilarious when she thought about how much they bickered at each other... "The particular moment is too cheery for any kind of argument, even I can admit to that. But like I said, just be thankful at my current mood-feeling. I may change and drive you off of the deep end!" And then, she would be stuck with children alone!
"My my.. just surprise me. I have no incredible taste for anything.. just hungry I suppose." she chuckled mildly while grinning at Toku. "I know I know, I'm being indecisive and difficult. I'm allowed I think."

Toku gave a rise of his shoulders and a dip of his head, "I wouldn't actually do that... I suppose this parenting thing brings back a few bitter memories." He grew quite for a while as they walked chuckling only again as she mentioned the normal days.
"Cheery is an odd word coming from a pair of Kalona strolling through the woods." He continued on glancing back smirking, "You wouldn't be rid of me so easily, not after what I had to endure to be here Malice."
With her final words given he took off in a trot into the woods. Out of sight a few rustling sounds could be heard and the squak of a decent sized bird. Leather wings beat against the air and feathered ones alike, this continued for a few moments and soon grew quite. Not but moments latter Toku emerged four dead ducks held in his mouth.

"I know you wouldn't." she then agreed, before dropping the thought to Toku's other words. "And yes I know cheery is.. strange, but I'm pregnant and strange anyhow. I'm allowed to talk some craziness now and then." Eh, and at least around Toku she didn't have to worry about being judged or anything. Her mind was scattered currently, and good thoughts were overflowing the bad. She never had experienced such a feeling, and rather then questioning it, she just went with the flow. She figured pregnancy would drive her mad after awhile...
She was patient and cool as Toku strode away to nab some meet, and she could only grin as she saw him finally return with her meal. "That's why I keep you around." she then said, while shaking her head in a grunt. "But seriously, I am thrilled to eat." If she were off on her own, hunting would have been messy while pregnant. She didn't want to bother the children or risk hurting herself, so she supposed relying on Toku was ok for the time being. Hopefully he understood those facts as well. "So what are you hoping for, Toku? Boys, girls? Or both?" She sniffed at the meant while asking him the question.
