Arsenic's icey eyes scanned the water in front of him before him before he bent to take a drink. He didn't trust the water one bit. Two times too many had a strange soquili popped out of the water soaking him to the bone. Those were certainly unpleasent experiences that were not to be experienced again.
Once he had taken a few sips of the cool liquid he lifted his head only slightly, looking down at his reflection sadly. His eyes drooped with his lack of sleep, and his ears laid back against his head. He just didn't get much sleep lately. How could he? He hadn't seen his mate in forever and he was worried about her. What if something really bad had happened. What if she found another stallion?
Maybe he was just worrying himself to death. She was probably fine, just busy with her friends. He should probably just calm down. Relax....
Yeah, like that would happen.

The young mare's wings ruffled slightly as she walked, casually held in a loose manner against her sides. Ears swiveling to and fro to listen to the sounds of the forest, she stepped carefully from its depths, coming out alongside the pebbly shore of a small, clear lake. Nares flaring to scent the air, she found nothing peculiar about the situation, and stepped forward to take a much needed drink.
Lowering her head to the water, she drew two or three large gulps of the cooling liquid, savoring the feel of it as it slipped down her throat. Tail swishing idly to and fro, she lifted her cranium, cerulean eyes gazing from where her hooves stood across the softly rippling waters. Ayelen was content for a moment to merely watch the little waves as they ran across the surface, before lapping gently at the shore on the other side. As her eyes reached there, however, she was startled.
Jumping slightly, wings splayed out, she stared into the eyes of another Soquili, standing just as her on the other bank. How long had he been there? Perhaps she just didn't notice him when she had arrived, and in reality he had been there the whole time. Shifting her weight back and forth on her feet, she let out a tentative whinny of greeting, the sound causing the water to ripple just a little bit more.

His mane swayed slightly, swishing past his eyes as a slight breeze twirled through the air and around his frame. He hadn't even noticed the mares appearance, he had been so busy in his own depressing thoughts.
The whinny startled him so much that he reared up just slightly and stepped back, afraid that it was another of the aquatic soquili he had come to dislike so much. When he didn't see much more movement from the water he raised his eyes to those of the mare and tilted his head. When had she appeared? It must have been recently. Certainly he would have heard her before.
She seemed slightly wary. Why was that always the case? He was so little! How could anyone fear danger from him? Honestly he could recall ever harming even a fly.
He returned her whinny with a soft, friendly one of his own. A smile touched his lips as he began to trot around the lake towards her. Slowly so that she could voice any objections, but still moving so that he could perhaps have some company on such a lonely day.

Ayelen was almost relieved when she startled the other as well; at least he was almost in the same state of mind as her. Well, she could assume that, at least. Muscles relaxing again, her ears swiveled in his direction as he moved about the side of the lake. Of course she had no objections; he seemed friendly, after all.
A soft smile crossed her lips, eyes following his movement. Company would be nice at this point; wandering aimlessly about for a day or two always seemed to take a toll on you, after all. Turning herself and starting a leisurely walk to meet him midway, her head bobbed a bit with each step, mane hanging lazily from her neck.
"I feel graced by the presence of another," she called as he drew closer, "It's been a while since I've had the pleasure of conversation." A soft smile played across her lips, head giving a nod of greeting to the other equine.
