Like always, Kamaria had a lot of her mind and in order to help clear it, the lioness thought that a short stroll through the beach might be a good idea. Her goal of the day was to try and loosen up and be more social. She had Aten, Senatla and the cubs for company, but even they were heading out to mingle on many occassions. Other than Jethro, Kamaria hadn't really conversed with anybody new.

As she walked along the very edge of the sand, the lioness hummed a soft melody and watched the local lions interact with one another. Perhaps part of what made it so hard was the fact that typical Bahari life was so relaxed and simple. Everyone seemed to know one another and if they didn't, they were all comfortable in each other's company. This was so new to Kamaria that she felt like she would have to try too hard to fit in.

One lioness, though a social bug herself, was hanging a bit away from the others that were lingering by the shore of the beach. She was searching for shells, a past time that she'd had since she was a cub and now continued with as an adult. She wanted to make a pair of necklaces for she and her sister, something to remember home by in their travels into the world, and maybe they'd have another purpose that she wasn't yet aware of.

A small pile had already been started on the largest leaf that Kinda had been able to find. Carefully she had just rinsed another shell and was carrying it back to the pile when she spotted Kamaria by chance, and after setting the finding down she called over.

"Good morning! A beautiful day, isn't it friend?"

While watching those around her, Kamaria caught site of the brown lioness picking up shells from the sand. She appeared to be collecting them for some reason. When the lioness called out to her, Kamaria was alert and ready with a response. She was so relieved that someone had taken the time to speak with her so that she wouldn't have to go through the long process of deciding what was right and wrong to say.

"Good morning to you too!" She said with a smile. Perhaps this whole conversing thing wouldn't be as difficult as she was constantly worrying. Approaching the stranger, the lioness continued the conversation, "It is surprisingly beautiful today, though I have yet to see a day that does not impress me here."

Leaning down to examine the beautiful shells that Kinda had collected, Kamaria asked, "May I ask what yours plans are for those?"

"We haven't had a storm in a while, they can be quite ferocious out this close by the sea, but even in their own way they're quite beautiful as well. It always amazes me, seeing the majesty of the ocean and all it's raw power." Kinda grinned, it was as if she truly were talking to an old friend, and not a stranger that she'd just laid eyes on for the second time. "I don't mind at all, I'm going to make necklaces for my sister and I! We're leaving soon for a while, I don't know how long. She wants to see the world past our borders and I can no more deny my own curiosity than let her venture out there alone."

A short, mirthful and fond laugh, and Kinda was smiling again right after.

"We're the only girls in our litter so I guess we've always had that 'gotta stick together' attitude, not to mention she's hopeless and she'd probably get into all kinds of trouble without me. So... just something to remember home by."

Kinda's manner of speech was very comforting to a new lioness of the pride. She spoke as though she'd known Kamaria for years now. With a smile, the spotted lioness listened to the other's story thoughtfully. Kinda reminded her somewhat of herself, having an internal struggle with remaining in the safety of home and the desire to explore and learn more of the world around them.

When Kinda spoke of the shells, Kamaria nodded. "That sounds like a lovely idea. You both were raised here, i'd imagine?" Kamaria asked. Surely the two lionesses would become home sick during their travels. The shell necklaces were a beautiful reminder of where they came from.

"Would you mind if I watched you make them? I think they would also make beautiful gifts and I-" Kamaria stopped and her cheeks flushed. Even without words, it was clear that she had someone special in mind.

"Hmm... We were, along with our four brothers." Kinda replied, pawing at the ground and digging up another couple of shells. "I don't mind if you watch." She smiled, then that smile turned into a grin. "It's for someone close to you isn't it? I don't mean to be rude, but it's just so clear... They're a very lucky creature, then... These do take time to make. I hope that whoever you gift it to realizes the dedication you have for them, show them by putting one of these together for them."

Kinda offered another heartfelt smile, then turned to try another spot.

"I'll need you to help me gather some more shells then. I'll do you one better and show you how to make them yourself, rather than just having you watch. How does that sound?"

Kamaria smiled when Kinda spoke of her brothers. So, she came from a large family. By her very friendly nature, the spotted lioness assumed that it was a good family. Her reasons for leaving were simply to explore new lands, so it seemed that she had a very good relationship with both the Bahari'mtoto and her family.

With a light blush, Kamaria imagined what it would be like to have a family of her own, six cubs, loyal mate. Her fantasy was cut short, when Kinda pointed out the obvious. Blushing ferociously, the lioness let out a nervous laugh. "Well, he.." She stopped and tried to think of the right words. They weren't anything official just yet, and they had only met recently, but what she felt was shared between the two of them.

When Kinda continued, Kamaria took this as an opportunity to simply leave what she said where it was. There was no use trying to explain her complicated relationship. That would certainly take a bit of time.

Smiling warmly, with cheeks still of pink hue, the lioness wished to thank Kinda. "I appreciate your doing this. I've come to realise, however, that I don't even know your name. And how foolish of myself to not give you mine. I am Kamaria."

Kinda watched quietly, then smiled softly, understanding. She didn't press any further for an answer, heading in the direction of the shore.

"It's all well and good, just fine, Kamaria! I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself as well though it looks like." She smiled, pausing just at the edge of the surf. "My name is Kinda'hima."

With a light nod, Kamaria responded to the other lioness, "Well, it has been a pleasure to meet you, Kinda'hima. I will return once i've collected some shells to use for the necklace." And with another nod as though to dismiss herself, Kamaria bound off a ways in search of buried shells in the sand. The necklace for Jethro would have to be perfect.

Using her paws and muzzle, the lioness dug within the sand curiously, looking for the best shells to use. She found some rounded shells and some flat shells of various shades of beige and grey. Before she could return to Kinda, however, Kamaria was determined to find some conical shells like the one she had gifted him with before. While new to the Bahari'mtoto, Kamaria knew of the tradition of the conical shell and how mates often gave them to one another to keep each other company while apart.

They were not yet mates, but in Jethro's absense, the lioness often wised that she had a shell to listen to his sweet whispers. With a familiar blush to her cheeks, Kamaria wrapped the shells in a large leaf and carried them back to Kinda. Setting them down onto the sand, she smiled, "I think i've collected more than enough!"

Well, while Kamaria was off looking for shells Kinda thought over how best to show her what to do when the other returned. She'd not had a chance to teach anyone else before, having no younger siblings of her own and there being no cubs in the pride at the moment. She worked at it quite eagerly, collecting her share, and was ready and waiting when Kamaria returned.

"Hm?"

Well........... almost ready and waiting at least.

"Oh! I see, wow, good job, that's a very nice collection Kamaria!" Kinda praised, rising to her paws again to come closer to have a look through them all. "Hmm... Now we need to find two rocks, and something to tie them all together. Something that won't break so no seaweed, hmmm..."

Kamaria beamed when Kinda praised her. She had grown up with no parents or siblings and was not used to recognition to something she had done. Smiling boldly, the lioness awaited further instructions. "Two rocks?" She questioned, absolutely dumbfounded as to why the lions would need rocks for their necklaces.

When Kinda then explained that they would also need something to tie them together, the lioness thought back to when Jethro and she went into the jungle to explore. There had been various twines made from dried plants that made it very difficult to simply run about carelessly. "I remember seeing dried plant in the jungle that might work. I could get some and return, it wasn't very deep that I saw it."

"Yes, they have to be pointed rocks, so that we can use them to make holes in the shells, for the twine." Kinda explained, "It's easier that way instead of dulling our claws doing it, because we need them for hunting." She finished, not at all unkind in her response. She did seem surprised at Kama's offer, though. "Oh, no, that's fine, the jungle's an awful long way from here isn't it? I'm sure we could find something closer than that." She smiled. Maybe if she knew what Kamaria had planned she could suggest something. "Dried plant is a good idea though."

Blushing lightly, Kamaria found herself a bit embarassed by her suggestion. The jungle was quite a distance, but the lioness was rather used to traveling and had all the time to spare. Perhaps Kinda was eager to begin on her adventure with her sister. While the two had been discussing necklaces, Kamaria had forgotten that the other lioness had things to attend to. Feeling rather selfish, Kamaria thought maybe it would be best for her to let her go. Surely if the two sisters were always in one another's company, the other must have been worried about why Kinda was gone for so long.

Clearing her throat, Kamaria proposed, "I've almost forgotten that you were heading out with your sister. I hope i'm not keeping you. Other than twine, i'm not quite sure what could be used. What do you usually use to make a necklace for yourself?"

((This is fin, as agreed with Keiko since she had to go/was tied up.

chibi woozle: Just have Kamaria follow Kinda and we say they make their necklaces together or something?
Tahja Estes: *nods* :3 Sure,))

"Oh, there's no need to worry about that. My sister will come get me when she's ready." Kinda shook her head with a dismissive smile. It was true, they were in no real rush. Her sister was probably speaking with the King or Queen right now about their leaving for a while in travel. It would probably be a little while yet before they left, seeing as they had to say goodbye to family first too. "Hmm... I'm sure we can find some dried vines somewhere, some of the plants near here seem to grow underground, they make good twine. Come on, this way!"

All they needed now were the stones and the twine, and they'd be all set to get to work. Kinda was happy for the company while she waited for Miri to return, and it was a constructive way to pass the time. Hopefully Kamaria would be there when they came back, since Kinda found herself enjoying the other's presence as she often did even with strangers. There was a definite sense of friendship between the two, and for Kinda, that was just one more reason to look as much forward to coming home as starting the journey.

Together the two lionesses headed off again, this time in search of the final pieces for their necklaces. They had definitely found much more than just that, though, and maybe without even realizing it Kinda had made it a little easier for a new face to feel at home.
