joining status Applications to new members are currently open until further notice. The Joining Process:
1. Check to see if joining is open. 2. Check to make sure that your rogue meets the following criteria:
Pelt colour: Red, black and white are the dominant and accepted colours within the Firekin pride. However, rogues that have other pelt-colours/markings are also allowed, though restricted to: - Hot colours (yellows/oranges) which cover no more than 40% of the lion. Yellows and oranges must be hot, not brown or subdued. - Cooler colours (greens/blues etc...) which cover no more than 5% of the lion. Preferably paired with red for joining rogues.
We reserve the right to reject any lion if we feel it does not follow the color rules. For borderline cases, it comes down to a vote between pride owners.
Examples: Typical Firekin: x, x, x, x, x Accepted variances: x, x, x, x, x, x Unaccepted variances: x, x, x, x x Some 'borderline' that would need to be discussed between pride owners: x, x
exclaim Please note! There are firekin in the pride who do not conform to the color rules. Before you ship an angry letter to the mule, know that most of the huria colored firekin received their rank due to a plot event in the past. The majority of them were slaves who fought for their freedom during the war, and were rewarded with a spot in the pride regardless of their coloration. Please use the above guidelines, not other pride members.
Other than looking like a Firekin, rogues will need to be:
- Adolescent/adult - Physically strong or; - Mentally adept - Prime condition / health - Willing to obey the laws of the pride - Be of a 'typical' mindest of a Firekin* - Intending to join without children dependent on them
*On the whole, Firekin are strong, fierce, stubborn and very loyal to their pride. Think of them as spartans in lion form!! Firekin are NOT evil or psychopathic.
exclaim Please note! II We do not currently take gods as members without discussion. If you have an idea, send a PM to the mule.3. If joining is open, fill in the application form and PM to the mule:Motoujamii-Simo Joining Application Character Name: Character Image: Rper Name: Rank: (please choose from either; guard, soldier, cub-sitter, hunter) Brief Personality Description: History: RP Example: (preferably an RP with the character applying for) 3. If you are accepted, your character will be expected to take part in a duel to earn his or her right into the pride. See post below for more information. (To check whether you have been accepted or not, please check the 'accepted' list found in this sticky.)

The Rogue Joining Process - Battle System
Once your application is approved:
- Check the duel thread in the subforum to see if there are any firekin available, or post your own. If no match is found, one of the pride owners will happily use one of their own firekin for your joining process. You can find the duel thread here.
- Once a fighting partner is found, decide between you who will begin the duel RP.
- Only one joining duel may be created at a time. The duel will need to be finished before creating the next. If the other participant does not respond in a weeks time, a new duel may be started regardless of completion
RPing the duel:
- The character who is going to roll first will set up the battle thread in the sub forum. Mark the RP as [duel] .
- Each RPer takes it in turns to randomise five numbers between 1 and 3 (one number at a time - totalling 10 posts altogether).
- A roll of: 1 = miss / failed attack 2 = bide 3 = a hit / successful attack
- Once the rolls have been completed, the RPers will go back and edit their characters response into the posts, one at a time.
- A duel is deemed complete when each RPer has edited into their five posts with the appropriate responses.
- When the duel is complete, PM the link of the RP to the mule where your characters will then be made into full members.
Determining the winner:
The winner of the duel is the character with the highest total when all numbers from the randomised moves are added together. So, for instance: Ea: 1st roll: 1 2nd roll: 3 3rd roll: 3 4th roll: 2 5th roll: 1 TOTAL: 10 Fia: 1st roll: 2 2nd roll: 2 3rd roll: 3 4th roll: 1 5th roll: 1 TOTAL: 9
From the example above, you can see that Ea is the winner, her moves totalling a 10 which beats Fia’s 9. If there is a tie, the rogue is also permitted to become a pride member.
>> For a live example please go here
What happens next?
The winner is accepted as a full member of the pride. The owner of the rogue must then PM the mule with a link to their completed RP. Once it is approved, they may submit for a cert change.
The loser is sent away from the pride, but encouraged to continue training and return again to challenge and participate in another duel when their skills are improved. A returning rogue (one who has participated in a duel before) does not need to go through the joining application process. Instead they can simply apply to be partnered up with a combatant in a week’s time. This continues until the rogue is successful in the duel. A duel needs to be complete (all posts edited with RP responses) before you can try for a second duel - and so on.
End Note:
And to finish! It must be said that there's no consequence to a losing firekin. Combatants will be expected to be good sports. The battles are fuels, not life and death struggles and are done in good faith.

Occasionaly, characters may be allowed in for a limited time for plot purposes. Whether it's a spy trying to break into the ranks or something else that you cook up.
Any such plot is welcome but must be agreed with one the IC/OOC rulers of the pride before it can be undertaken

FAQ- Duel System
Okay~ Here to answer your questions about our new little game thing! First, a brief summary of why we are trying out this system.
1. What happens if a rogue loses more then five times?
At the moment, they'll need to continue to try. You're still completing rps with the character, and we will be aware of people trying very hard. If it ever got to be around ten RPs all lost due to bad luck, well, we may step in. However, we really would look highly on someone who kept rping. In some ways, the joining process is just an attempt to integrate you more into the pride then just a meeting with a reagent. Since you can technically battle more then one pride member- your lion will end up joining the pride with quite a few frenemies under their belt.
Remember, a draw also will count as a 'win' for a rogue. So really, rogues have more chances then loses.
2. But my character is an experienced fighter!
This is probably going to be the biggest issue. For rogues joining, it's simply something that is going to have to be tolerated. If loosing one good-natured duel totally destroys your character, then they might not be a good match for our pride. ;[ Firekin are a race of fighters, yes. But, they must also fall in rank too. We don't want characters who consider themselves to be unbeatable. Namely- we want people who can place nice with each other.
3. Okay. I have a firekin who is an experienced fighter! I don't want them to lose to ugly-face rogues!
I will say this in bold caps underline. YOUR FIREKIN CAN NOT BE "CALLED OUT" TO A DICE DUEL.**** If you have a character in the pride that you don't want to fight, don't want to lose, well... don't RP in a dice fight! XD
The general idea is this. Most people will use one of their characters for dice fights, then rest will RP fights normally, or not fight at all. For example: Ea will eventually be my dice fight character. Ea is a character I consider able to tolerate the occasional loss.
Another thing to note, again. These battles are not life and death struggles. We don't care how you RP the dice fight. Don't let it stress you out if you think your firekin is going to have to constantly defend it's status in the pride. <33 It won't.
4. Okay. So it's all good. But I think we could do better! What about handicaps and level ups?! Come on!
PM us your system! :3 For the moment, we want to keep this as easy-peasy as possible. In the future, if enough people like it, we will expand to incorporate battle knowledge and such.
Have a question? Send it in!

***Unless your character is named Yugi.
