A soft smile graced her lips as the wind rushed through her fur. It was slow, and gradual, but she easily felt the changes in herself that she could not see. She was a young adolescent. Many would easily use the word 'pretty' to describe her, but this was a word she did not understand.
Pretty, Beautiful... Ugly, repulsive. Were they so different? Why? The smile vanished as the wind died down, and her thoughts once again over took her. Kunye's sightless eyes could not even tell the difference between a Lion and a Leopard. So she really couldn't distinguish between something beautiful and repulsive, like other people could.
That wasn't to say she didn't have her own way, though. Take her views on her elder brother, for example. Many would call him Handsome, and yes, he very much was. But she found him to be beautiful. Brave, caring, and always fun to be around. That made him beautiful to her.
The smile returned easily at her shift in thoughts, tail flicking out behind her. More than any other, she had always liked to be around her eldest brother. He had stuck around her and her siblings while they grew up, helping their parents, and protecting them.
Often he would catch her sneaking out of the den, and let her curl up outside with him, rather than forcing her to return to bed.
Shaking her head, Kunye shifted to stretch out across the rock she was perched on to better enjoy the sun with her more pleasant thoughts.

His mind was full of many questions and perhaps the answers they needed were already floating about inside his skull. It didn't matter though, in the long run the answers would come to him, he had no need to truely question what was going on his head.
Shaking his brains of his trubles he spotted his little half sister. Kayune ws beautiful he felt, beautiful and ever so gentle and kind. If she wasn't blind, he had no doubt that every male in the area would flock to her.
Shaking his head he trotted up to her and nudged her cheek gently, affectionately, "what brings you out here kayune?" he whispers, his golden eyes glistening as he sat beside his sister, his large, king spotted form towering over the young females.

Her smile grew at the gentle nudge, easily picking out the scent of her brother. " Afiya. Hmmm. I like it here most... You can hear the stream near by. And it is often very windy. "
She shifted to the side carefully to slide from her low perch, and lean up against her brother's side. " And yourself? It has been a little while since I last saw you. But you sound well. "
He did indeed sound healthy. And that greatly reassured her. Days, weeks, months. It did not matter how little or how much time passed, she would worry for how her brother was doing all the same.
Her family was all she really had in the end, though she was encouraged to go out and meet others, she was always so fearful to try.

Afiya smiled lightly, his golden eyes cheered by her word. "yes it is always nice here." he smiled softly and licked his sisters head in a gentle grooming kiss.
"I'v been busy, seeing the world." He smiled wistfully, lifting his head to the view the sky. "Korou always says that the world is very differnt when you can't see but you experience it in ways noone can imagine."He smiles gently. "I bet you can hear so much better than me little sis."
He lowered hs head and looked at her with a pleased smile "has ma been looking for me? I told her I'd be away for a while, but you know what she's like, always worryin'"

She winced slightly at the question, unseeing eyes turning up towards him. " I haven't been home in a while myself... I hope she isn't worried about me. I wanted to see if... If I would be able to survive alone. " She let her head rest down.
" I couldn't go to far, in case the answer was no... But I couldn't let myself return home to be taken care of.. I cant live like that forever. So I've been living out around this area lately. "
She smiled again, shutting her eyes and nuzzling at him. " I can probably smell and hear better than you. I hope those senses will allow me to go out and esperiance the rest of our world some day... "

"It's good you're getting out" he smiled and nuzzled his sister once again. "I'm sure mother has probably been checking on you." He chuckles lightly. "You know how she is, she watches over all of us really, guardian angel she is." he grinned. he knew full well heis mother would check on her, and that she wouldn't intefere with her unles it was necessary.
"So, any boys in your life?" His golden eyes twinkled, he wasn't sure how he felt about his littlest sister having a boy in her life, but he supposed it would happen sooner or later, just gods help anyone if they hurt her.

She blinked in surprise at such a question, before letting out a laugh. " Boys? Aside from you? No. "
She gave him a bit of a wiry grin before resting her head down. " I mean... There was that guy that cub-napped me when I was younger. I met him again. " She snorts. " Aside from him, I haven't really met anyone new at all. "
" I.. I will though! " She said quickly, frowning. " I mean. I plan to. As soon as I'm ready to go further out. " She couldn't help but give a little huff at the end, tail flicking in agitation. She was sure her whole family knew of her fears, but she was absolutely determined to go out and make atleast one friend. It couldn't be that hard, right?

Afiya smiled and lay down next to his sister grooming her ears gently, his golden eyes smiling. "Don't worry, you'll find your place in the world little sis, trust me, you'll go out there one day and the world will open up imence possibilities for you!" He smiled brightly and nudged her playfully.
"You just make sure those boys know if theyhurt you I'll be hurting them okay?"

Her grin widened, and she rolled onto her back to bat up at his muzzle playfully, luckily not missing. She really didn't want to accidentally smack him in the eye! " I would offer to bring them to you first for you to give your opinion. But I'm afraid you'd scare them all off! "
Her family was alway protective. But they never really made her feel smothered. No, it always spread a feeling of warmth and love through her. " I'll make sure they know I have a powerful big brother. "

Afiya chuckled playfully, nudging his sisters paw with his nose. "You're getting good with that aim Kunye." He whispered playfully bating at one of her ears.
"Yeah well I'm sure when you grow up a little the boys will be flocking to you, you just let them know I'm watching them. I'm not having them hurt my little sis." He chuckled and settled down with a gentle sigh.
"Suppose I should see ma before I go off again. She'll give me a lecture if I don't." He grinned his golden eyed gaze looking out over the savannah, therew as so much more world for him to see, he hated to miss a thing.

" Probably best that you do. It's only a short bit from here, and it wold make her sad if you came all this way, but didn't stop by. "
Her fur ruffled a bit at his comment about growing up, but she chose not to reply to it, knowing it would likely came out as a childish pout.
" ... Afiya? " She asked a bit hesitantly, leaning against him again. " Next time... Would you take me with you to a new place? Some place where I can hear new sounds. "

Afiya cleared his throat, could he do that? "Well I'v gotta go and see ma, let me check with her then I'll take you where evr you want. You know what she's like she'll throw a fit if you just vanish off the face of the earth."
He chuckles lightly. "I can't see why you can't come with me. I'm heading to the jungle. Nice place, very green, lots of sounds for you to hear."

" The jungle?? " She smiled happily, rolling back over in her excitement. " There will be alot of birds there! I love listening to them... "
Her tail lashed about a bit, and she stood up, nodding. " Oh! I'm sure mother will say yes. She has to! " Grinning, she pounced onto her brother, to find and tug at his ear. " Thank you Afiya! "

Afiya chuckled and gentley nudged his sister off his back. "Alright, alright, you stay here I need to go and see ma. We can head out at first light okay?" He smiled and playfully pushed his sister gently.
"Yeah, it's an an amazing place full of birds and monkeys and all sorts of insects that make noises. It's a great place to explore."
He stood slowly then his tail flickering back in to it's usual high and jaunty possition. "I'll be back soon. Better get this over with." he chuckled and padded off in the direction he knew his mother would be in.

" Good luck! " She called after him, settling into the grass to try to calm herself back down and wait for his return.
Leaving at first light. She was finally leaving her home lands. She should be fearful. But she felt nothing but excitement. Afiya would be with her. Her elder brother would never let anything hurt her.
The bright smile remained on her face. It would be impossible to sleep tonight.
