It didn't seem too long before a small little filly, tiny in fact compared to others around, was off exploring on her own. Truth was, that she was always fleeing from her family and strutting about as if there was nothing better then herself. Though once and a while she would scamper back to home where things were less scary once the sun sank below the HUGE mountains. Today she wandered very, VERY far from normal, far from her home and her parents.
The small lavender and pink filly stood under one of the larger pines outside a the very big, very dark forest. Hot pink eyes grow larger as she craned her neck upwards trying to see as far as she could. Though she only didn't see too far, only resulting in her rump plopping against the ground as she sat back. That was one HUGE tree, and everything seemed huge to the little filly.
"Wow" She exclaimed looked around at the other trees. "Why can't things ever be small?"
Frowning slightly the filly looked around at the lengthening grass that was almost as tall as she was. Standing she turned to walk out into it, but it felt more like swimming them anything else... Stopping she thought she had heard something off in the distance a soft rustling... Maybe it was just her imagination, she was too cute to be hunted or anything... Right?

Scarlet was taking an evening walk though the valley between her montains. She had her basket tied to her back like Nenharma alwasy tied it when she went on her strolls. She hummed to herself but stopped when she saw a particularly frightened filly up a head. She tilted her head and made a thoughtful little noise before she strolled over.
"You shouldn't be out without your parents. Do they know where you are," she asked softly as she came up next to the little pony. "It's dangerous for a pretty little thing like you to be out at this time." Scarlet flopped onto her hip, making sure to keep the basket safely secure of her back. "You look frightened."

The small filly jumped and wheeled around to land her eyes upon a strange colored mare who was like her mother... Kinda anyways, A brow raised as she craned her neck to the side and she looked at the strange object tied to her back? What was that? It looked like something she had once been in, but what was it? A bask... Something like that...
"Huh? I'm always out without my parents." She stated stomping a tiny lavender hoof. "So why would I be frightened? Not like your going to sprout fangs... Are ya?" she asked narrowing her eyes a little.
Stomping her tiny hooves again, she glared up at the larger mare, hoping that she wouldn't sprout fangs and become scary... Melos doubted it though, nothing that looked like this... mare could ever be scary. The markings were all wrong for one and there were other things, but she couldn't think of them as she waited for a reply from the mare. Her two toned pink tail twitched behind her.

Scarlet chuckled and gently nuzzled the tiny filly. She sure was a fire cracker. So much like she had been as a child. She took a moment to remember before she asnwered, "no, I'm not that kind of Soquili. Those are skin walkers. You best watch out for those, they like to feast on tiny little morsels like yourself." Scarlet smiled and shinnied out of the rope. She set her basket gently on the ground and curled herself around it. She took a deep breath, smelling the evening air and looked back at the pink child.
"Don't your parents worry about you? If you were my child, I'd never let you out of my sight. I'd be far to worried. They much have a great deal of trust in you to let you out so close to night fall." Scarlet smiled again and laid her head down on the grass. "Come, lay with me, my bones are tired from carrying my basket around." She patted down some grass next to her for the filly incase she wanted to sit. If not, the Scarlet would not mind at all.

Melos remained where she had been seated watching the mare, though she had closed one eye in thought when something about a skin walking was mentioned. How could a 'skin' walk? She had seen skins at some creature's place and they didn't walk on their own. Surely this mare must have been joking about these Skin walking things. Soon things came about to her parents having trust in her, yea they did.. Somewhat anyways. Mainly they were always busy...
"They are always busy with my siblings so I just sneak away." Melos huffed as she stood and paced a bit, her small hooves stomping with every step. "Sometimes I wish I could have been an only child, then my parents would pay attention to only me. Never my sister or brother, just me and me alone."
In a fit of frustration that was little more then a temper tantrum, the filly kicked at a small stone that bounced off the tree she had been looking at and came back at her. Striking her in the rump and she huffed again stomping her hooves in one place. It seemed that the little Diva couldn't get her way with anything anymore. It was completely frustrating to say the very least and she wasn't liking all the thinking that was going on...

"If you were my filly I wouldn't let you out of my sight, that's for sure. I'm sorry you feel so left out. But surly you much have some affection for your siblings. They are a part of you, after all." She stood up and walked over to the filly, kicking the rock away. She sighed musically and dragged her basket over and smiled again at the child. "I think what you have is a case of Siblingitis. It gose away as you grow up, but it seems horrible at the time. I know that when your grow older you'll look back and know how foolish it was to be so bitter."
She nuged the small wonder and said, "Besides, if you take them for granted then you loose them. Do you want to hear what happened to my family?"

"Please tell me that this isn't one fo those sob stories adults tell to get others all weepy eyed." Melos said narrowing her eyes and sweeping away just a little. "I don't like those kind of stories, they seem... Too trivial..."
Tilting her head to one side, she watched the mare, not really remembering if they are even exchanged names yet. Then again with all the talk going on she easily forgot somethings and failed to even remember. Though this 'illness' that the mare had said that she had... It wasn't really coming across right... Was it?
"Am I really that 'ill' that I don't want to be with my siblings? Like I can die from this... Siblingitis? Then again, I doubt they would care, Frilly and Pocket seem to have too much fun on their own." She shrugged looking in different direction. "I take it that... Thing, has siblings too? And if I was one of yours... I doubt I would look as cute as I am now and I certainly wouldn't have my name. You would more then likely name me something..." She tried to think. "Well I don't know, but Daddy says that some parents name their kids stupid things and claim to care for their children."

Scarlet winced, though it was barely visible. She forced a smile, having learned well on that children need patience. "I fear it is a sad story, but maybe another time, though I doubt it from your aditude." She smiled and nudged her a little. "Siblingitis is just a term for a sever case of jealousy. It's only lethal if you let it consume you. Which, if you are the strong-willed lady I think you are, it most likley will not. Therefore, you should have a long and healthy life." Scarlet beamed again and wated the filly closely. She knew that mind set... that chill.
Scarlet's smiled faltered, but only for a moment as she though of the pink filly's possible future and said, "my babies name will be Sweetpea for a filly, and Lucian for a colt." She smiled adn shook her head, "If you were mine you would have been called Sweetpea, yes. And you'd look like me and Syipher. But I'd care for you none the less. Maybe I already do care for you." She set her head on her basket and watched the filly. Twas true, her little chats with the child had grown her fond of the little tyke.

'Sweetpea'? She HAD to be joking, just the thought of the name made her stomach turn and her small bit of green twinge to her face, though as most her face was in the shadows it was barely visible. For once, she was glad to be named Melos, then she wouldn't have such a humiliating name such as Sweetpea.
"I will feel sorry for the filly that comes from that thing." She muttered to herself shaking her head, letting her short bristly mane ruffle slightly.
When it came down to her being jealous of her siblings... Her? Jealous? Hardly, she would just rather be the only child then she wouldn't have to put up with anyone else. Shaking her head once again she watched the mare as she had rested her head atop the basket, deep down hoping that the foal inside doesn't get the humiliating name.
"Don't know if it's been said or not, but Momma named me Princess Melos. Princes keeping with the name sake of my father's line and Melos being that well... I guess it has something to do with dancing, I don't know." Melos shrugged looking off toward the fading sunlight before shifting closer toward Scarlet as a slight chill had come to the air and it seemed warmer to get closer.

Scarlet smiled and said, "I am Scarlet." she shivered adn said, "my, it's getting cold. Can you get home, or shall I travel with you?" Scarlet looked at the horizon too. She needed to be getting home soon as well, her two legger would worry. "I'm sure your parents are just sick with worry about you. I would be." She sighed and watched the filly. So, kindness was not her thing. It wasn't Scarlets when she was younger. But she knew the seeds kind words planted, she knew how they grew. Maybe she could help.

Turning her hot pink colored eyes toward the skies over head, she watched the colors change and the small white dots appear. Closing one eye she tried to think of what they could really be, besides just plain ol' dots against the black/blue night sky. Melos always liked watching the colors change, but it was the cold that always got to her even if summer was fastly approaching
"I... I can get home on my own." She said finally looking away from the sky, "I don't think Daddy would like it if I came home with someone else. He doesn't like someone with your name, says that she's a flower lover and... Something else I can't remember"
As much as she did try to remember, Melos couldn't remember what it was that she was told. She was told so much about Scarlet that was friends with someone else whom Daddy hated, and that mommy hated. There were a few that they hated and expressed it greatly upon their children to hate them too... But Melos wasn't quite sure, she had met a Scarlet and she seemed nicer then what Daddy had said... Maybe he was wrong?
"Anyways it was nice to meet you Scarlet." She smiled, though it was only because of the attention she was getting.

"And a pleasure to meet you as well Princess. I do hope we can meet again. And if it will get you in trouble, I think it best not to tell you father of our meeting." She beamed again and shinnied back into her ropes, hiosting the basket onto her back. The think wiggles and gurgled a little and she smiled. "Be safe, Little Wonder."
Scarlet turned and began to sing her baby back to sleep. "Hush now, my baby, be still now don't cry. Sleep as your rocked by the stream. Sleep and remember my last luluby. So I'll be with you when you dream."

Melos gave a slightly, shaky smile as she backed away from the mare as she pulled the basket back to where it had been. Though backed away still as the mare turned to sing? to it? That was one of the oddest things she had ever seen and she turned to flee away from the sight, though had to shout back...
"Yea, sure, bye!" She shouted and soon vanished through some pushes and back toward where home was. Leaving scarlet behind.
