Hello and welcome to the Xera Challenege!

Now this going to be for everyone.

Each and every week or whenever I feel like it the guild is going to do one challenge.

It's a good way to keep the guild active and fun.

There will be many challenges such as: Play Super Ghost N Goblins or something like that in that matter.

However seeing that are many of us who don't own every single next-gen console just yet. This will be mostly last-gen games. It would be much easier on us since there are well..emulators and stuff...

And if you don't have one no fear! There always flash drives that can hold em.

Anyways on to this week challenge!

It's really simple actually.

Review one game of the past!
-Just don't do PS2, GCN or X-box.
-N64 and PSone counts.
-If you have the actual game good.
-If you don't...emulation is your best bet.
-No I'm not giving you links. Use google there is plenty of emulators out there and even roms. So nyah.
-Just make a basic review and make it numerical if you want to.
-That is all.

Just basically post your review in this post.

Next Week's Challenge will be great!

I hope you like hard games!

New Challenge:

Uh yea it's the new challenge. Mhm. Well in this challenge most of us have played this game.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

If not well now is your chance to play it on the SNES.

All right this the challenge till next Monday.

Here are the rules.
-Play it on Expert Mode
-If you get as far as you can make sure you post your score. Like (First Stage Score: Some Number)
-You can take a picture if you want, make sure the flash is not on.
-Just have fun.
-If you die keep contiuning

Also there will be a prize if you beat the game twice . wink

This challenge will end next Monday.

Majora's Mask: over 9000/10
Well, that's what I want to write, anyways.
Give me some time. I'll pull out something besides my usually praised games. Perhaps Mario 3, just because I am not as impressed with it as I think most people are.
Know, why did Xera find it fitting to include "nyah" in his post?

----------What can one say about a simple RPG game for the Game Boy? What words can one possibly muster together for a game that’s 2D, with only two colors in the whole game asides from black outlines? No words, just one very long number: 10,290,000,000,000,000 . That is how many combinations of little animals you can muster to do battle for you in Pokémon, version blue and/or red.
----------Of course, it is impossible to capture all 150 Pokémon with just game cartridge. But that simply encourages multiplayer. Multiplayer itself is sickingly simplistic as only two can play at a time (with the use of link cable) and they can only trade Pokémon or fight. However, this can be taken with a grain of sand when one understands this type of multiplayer was before consol online play.
----------But it is not simply the near limitless team options a player has that makes Pokémon Blue Version so addictively fun. In order to achieve total victory in the game (becoming the greatest Pokémon trainer ever) players must train their little critters of doom in the art of combat. The battle system is turn biased, and sadly each Pokémon can only know four moves at any given time. This is a true shame when one considers the vast number of great moves any one Pokémon can learn and use. However, it also adds a strategic element that can easy be overseen and forgotten. Especially when a handful of moves cannot be erased nor forgotten, leaving that Pokémon with only three other moves. And each move can only be used a certain number of times before the Pokémon must be healed aty a Pokémon center in order for the attack to be used again in battle. And, the stronger the attack, the fewer number of times it can be used before its pp (number of time attack can be used) is used up.
----------The game itself is not easy, and it’s quite possible to lose battles frequently (and therefore get stuck in some instances) if time is not set aside to train. This is a game that demands around 80 hours, but it’s not impossible to beat the game in less time.
----------It is easy to become attached and fond of the little digital monsters. Especially when so many of them are just adorable. Such fondness encourages players to keep playing, and gives gamers a sense of pride and achievement when a tough battle is won, or when a Pokémon evolves into its next stage.
----------Pokémon, though its premise, story, graphics, and even gameplay are rather simplistic, gives such a solid experience that even after the game is soundly conquered, players will come back repeatedly for more.

Pokemon Blue/Red version merits a 4/5.

Sum up
Pros:
Great little soundtrack
Fun game play
Gradual increase in difficulty prevents boredom
Near limitless team combinations
High replay factor

Cons:
Gameplay can get repetitive at times
Multiplayer lacking
Sorting out items can get tiresome
Attacks are limited

Title:Banjo-Kazooie
Platform: N64
ERSB: E
Genre: Platformer
Players:One
Connectivity: None

The Good
-It's fun
-Lot of humor
-Great music
-Graphics are nice.
- Controls well.

The Bad
-A tad on the easy side
-Limited Powerups
-Pressing A to speed up voices is annoying
-Life system is annoying
-When you leave you have to re-get the notes to get a higher note score.
-The Grunty Cave music gets annoying after a while.

Although Banjo-Tooie is much better in presentation and gameplay. One can say that this the second best game on the old N64. Of course having an N64 since launched gave me a chance to play this game when I was young. While the gameplay is sort of kind of limited for its time it was ahead of the ball game. Huge levels, lots of collecting and most of all being a great platformer.

One of the keys difference as to say Mario 64 was in fact the look of the game up until that time the only game to awe anyone was in fact probably OoT. However this game stole the show by means of hype. While it did meet the hype there was still more they could of done. Mumbo wasn't around as often, we really didn't know about Banjo nor Kazooie. It was mostly about the gameplay.

While one of the solid titles of the N64 there wasn't enough to keep some myself coming back for more. Sure I don't hate it now but the fact still remains the sequel is still the best in the Banjo-Kazooie series.

It's still a fun game to pick up to see where the roots of the series came from. The music, the jokes and frankly the colorful characters. But it needed more.

Banjo-Kazooie gets a 9.25/10

Do PC games count? As in like, from the pre-2000 era?
