Since her visit to the ocean, the paintaloosa had become rather energized and high on life, so to say. With her new adult form, well, she had discovered the eccastcy of flight, which she hadn't tried in her foalhood. It was such an awesome way to spend one's time! Zipping over the trees, making crazy turns in the air, why she felt she could do just about anything at all! Anything! Yet she hadn't quite tried landing thus far, and she was sure she had lost track of Scabbers a long time ago. Best not to think about such things. Scabbers would meet her back at Ryuten, and the landing, well, how hard could osmething like that be?

Flicking her pale gaze downwards she attempted to take a look at the ground below, and wondering why it had gotten so flat. Was she perhaps in D'ob? Naw, not already! It would have taken much longer for her to reach this place if she had walked with Scabbers, hadn't it? Surely! It was just a trick of her sights was all, due to the trees going by so quickly... did that even make sense?

Whatever. The mare hadn't the patience nor the time to think about such things, as her gaze lingered a bit too long on the ground below, hoping to spot something of interest. That was her first mistake. With her focus not on her flying, the paintaloosa easily lost the motion of her wings, and then her body began to angle downward as if to follow her head and the way it dipped down to look. Before she knew it the wind spilled from her feathered grasp and Mecriana found herself becoming all to intimate with rushing of ground towards her face. Yipes! This wasn't going to be good.

Had Storm not been a seer, she would have felt the severe injury of such a stupid stunt. As it was, she glared at the careening image in her mind and positioned herself out of the way of "Miss Stupid" and "Miss Stupid's Brain." She tossed her mane, her eyes scanning the area around her with defiance.

Her mind counted and sure enough, seconds later the paintaloosa she'd thought she'd sensed caming rushing by on an obvious path that lead only to the ground.

"Watch where you're going, dumbass!" she shouted to the young idiot, a smirk coming to her face, and long with a small chuckle as she imagined the concussion that followed. Maybe she'd get knocked out and she could advise a few young stallions to head in this general direction. That event would be useful in itself.

"The ground hits hard," she added as an afterthought, stopping in her venture as a thought that some serious injury might came out of this passed over her mind. Perhaps it wouldn't be good to be aroud a dead body - especially if she hadn't caused it.

Um... well perhaps she should have taken lessons from someone before attempting on this on her own. Such a thought sure sounded nice, late, but nice. Had she been a coward she probably would have resigned herself to fear about falling and the prospect of injury, but ignorance was bliss as was her pracitcally empty head. She wasn't smart, but thank goodness she had some luck to her as she had the sense to open her wings and give 'em a flap, however it didn't entirely save her from the crash landing.

A slip of her footing from the rough landing, the colapse of of her knees and down she went onto the hard ground, which she had previously thought to be the softest in all Urin. Just her luck. Ugh, everything hurt, but the paintaloosa couldn't help but sneer at the words that had caught her attention. The chuckle not escaping her either. The fact someone was around to even see that was bad enough, but this particular mare must have been some kind of b***h.

"No s**t, Dappleass!" Mec shouted back, rolling to her belly with a grunt that bit into her sides. If her body didn't feel that for a week than there must be something wrong with her senses. "Got any other advice you're itching to share?" A hard snort, the bearing of her teeth at the difficulty of getting herself up, and Mecriana was on her hooves once more, albit with some aching to her joints.
PostPosted: Thu May 29, 2008 3:45 pm

She was right on with b***h. There were several other words, phrases and nasty tongues to emphasis to that particular phrase, but b***h was good enough for Storm. The mare would no doubt be calling "Dappleass" many other things in very short order. The thought had Storm grinning broader, her ego getting the best of her, or perhaps this ego was justified.

"Yes, actually. Learn to <******** fly," Storm shot back, a sneer on her lips as she flapped her wings impatiently.

"I'd offer to teach you," she added as afterthought and gazed Mec over. "But I've not the time, and you're case is beyond help." She ground her teeth together, the pressure of all the things she had to do bearing down on her head and causing her stress levels to rise. On any normal given day she might have laughed, shrugged it off, and kept going, but not today. Today she was pissed. Today she was frustrated. Today she was in love. Hah! What a concept: Love.

"So it looks like your on your own, grumpy miss child," Storm gave her a wry glance before picking up the pace into a walk again. "Good bloody luck."

Learn to fly? You'd think she'd see that coming a mile away, but still her nostrils flared in her jerk manner. "Please," she started off saying, perhaps to go far enough to ask her to help teach, "With that horn so far up your a** you wouldn't be able to teach." A thorough shake of the paintaloosa's body got a jolt of acheing from her bones, but not enough she couldn't bite it back for the time being.

Unfortunatly for Storm, this was a normal day for Mecriana. The inticement to argue and the invitation to do such was more than she could stand. Call it an addiction of sorts, but whatever it was Mec hadn't the strength to resist it despite the sight of the other's horn, or the obvious bad mood. Mecriana wasn't grumpy, in a bad mood, or even pissed off and frustrated, she was simply just Mecriana. Argumentive, and unwilling to backoff.

Walk away? How disappointing! "Jerk-bithces walking off, wow, who didn't see this crap happening." Ears laid back the paintaloosa was actually hoping for this to continue, as she moved off into a trot after Dappleass, sure to make her hoofbeats heard."

"Exactly why I'm not going to bother to try," Storm answered matter-of-factly, ignoring the vicious mental imagery that she was getting from the younger mare.

If there was one thing Storm hated, it was having someone in her personal space. She paused and pinned her own ears, looking back towards Mecriana with a haughty eye. The little slut was trotting her way in as though she were going to take a victory.

Storm snorted and stomped a foot, her tail swishing back and forth with continuing aggravation.

"If I were you, I wouldn't take a step closer," she warned. That was all she was giving: One warning.

The very sight of Dappleass' reaction was more than encouraging, the haughty glance back the pinned ears, Mecriana seemed to take that as a promise as to what was to come. And what she was more than willing to meet at her own expense, as was the paintaloosa's sheer addiction.

Her hoofs picked at the ground as she slowed her stride to a walk, taking two purposeful steps forward. "You're not me." Thankfully for that, Dappleass was already in a bad mood, grouchy, and apparently insulting anyone who came into her line of sight. Revenge didn't seem to matter though, Mec just wanted one thing. The paintaloosa raised her head, ears still pinned against her skull as her nostrils flared as if to answer, and decline, that warning.

Then again Mec wasn't one to wait for anything at all, certainly not an intended opponent to launch the first attack, it was too formal, and it held little backbone for the prospect. It was like a cowards way out, as if to say 'you started it' when really that wasn't the case at all. With the one warning given, and denied, Mecriana gave a sudden arch to her neck and seemed to almost 'dance' forward with her teeth bared. Snaking her muzzle out, she hoped to seize Storm's hide between her teeth.

Storm gave a pretentious snort, almost laughing at Mercriana's display of dominance. She shifted her weight to her right foot and waited, her mind toying over the little bits of information in Mecriana's. There was nothing interesting. She was a boring mare on top of it.

She took a nervous step back when Mercriana advanced; her steps were almost elegant. Oh, she had the form with her ears pinned and her neck arched, and it made Storm want to do other things than fight with her.

But fighting it was, and Storm had no qualms about cheating. The retreat had only been a distractant, one to make Mercriana potentionally wash over with the desire to taste blood and one that gave Storm the space she needed.

Without even a warning flick of her tail, Storm slammed her body weight into her front hooves and pivoted on them. Her back legs lashed out towards Mecriana's arched nose, and if the girl thought to take her head out of the situation, Storm didn't mind hitting her squarely in the chest instead.

Just as soon as her head went in, sudden movement caught her off guard. Sudden as in, holy-drek where had that come from? She had already advanced to the point where even a balk to the side wouldn't save her, and though Mecriana was a quick little devil the tip of a sharp hoof scuffed her nose and slipped to pound against her upper chest as she pulled her head out of the way. That smarted! Her nose thoroughly felt as though she had ran smack dab into a tree again; but there was no use in wasting momentum and an opening to think about it. In fact; Mec hardly thought about anything relevant, she didn't quite rely on her brain to make battle tactics. Really she didn't rely on her brain for anything; you can thank instinct for being in the driver's seat.

After that smack to the nose Mec continued to plunge forward, accepting the blow to her chest without refrute to twist away. As she lunged she rose partially onto her hind legs in an almost jumping fashion; her folded forelegs aimed to ram into Dappleass' exposed hip and her stinging nose plunged foreward with the intent to lock onto the golden hide. Blood dribbled the side of her nostril as she did so; her own blood.

Usually a strike to the nose settled them. It left their brains numb and reeling and they thought twice about coming after her.

The sting in her side and the fact her legs buckled underneath her left her with the knoweldge that this one didn't learn quickly at all. Hissing through her teeth and letting out both a cry of pain and challenge, Storm uttered a sharp, "Can't you take a ******** hint?"

Ignoring the nasty pain as she did, Storm ripped her body away from Merc's teeth and instead slammed her whole side into the other's ribcage, aiming a bite for the boned lining of the mare's back as she did.

If that was how they were going to fight, Storm wanted Merc on her knees. No one tussled with her and kept it up. No one.

"Back off mare," she growled as she aimed her horn just to slice the skin. She didn't want to cripple her. It was unwise to make enemies through death, but a fight like this was pointless and vulgar.

No. No, Mec was not able to take subtle and not so subtle hints unless they were directly spelled out for her; anything and everything Dappleass had done before had been a mere challenge to the paintaloosa. Scabbers had even told her so, and he was so smart. ~Hint to what?~ she found herself thinking, and with that distraction she found herself being slammed into by the other mare.

That jostled her awake enough to realize that teeth were aimed at her. The next series of events happened rather quickly, the distinct sharpness of the pinch to her spine had her feeling as though her back had hollowed and she stumbled in her rather violent attempt to rip herself away from Storm's grip. If finally sank in though, a bit too late but enough to put her on gaurd against an ensuing strike. For all she was worth, and really what she had left after a sore and aching body from both crash landing and Storm's blows, Mec was able to back peddle quick enough with a toss of her head to escape the horn. For the most part, there was a slight sting to her flesh afterwards, and struck defensively to the air in front of her.

Apparently this wasn't the fight she had thought it was in the begining. It was upsetting news for both loss of a brawl and seemingly getting the other's intentions mixed up. "... Oops", she couldn't help but mutter, and though she did not advance again, her muscles were tensed as she continued to slowly back away in a literal interrpretation of Storm's meaning. Just because she was on the defeansive and ready to end the encounter at admition to her mistake, did not mean she wouldn't defend herself if it came to it. Although admitedly running might have been the better idea; her body was already so tired.

Coughing once and slamming her foot into the ground to try and get rid of the pain in her hip, Storm furrowed her brows and looked at the girl. She'd gotten the message. No more bloodshed needed.

Staying in her spot as if to make sure there wouldn't be anyone but Mercriana backing down, Storm watched the girl and more importantly watched her thoughts.

"Do you get into fights often?" she asked as she scraped the cottonmouth coating from her tongue on her upper teeth and spit it out onto the ground. The mare tasted vile, but most Nequus did.

At the very least Storm wasn't apt to drive her into the ground, and though Mec enjoyed exchanging blows it was apparent this wasn't the sort of fight she had been looking for. Not in the slightest. It was one thing to engage in willing brawls, it was another to misread other's intentions. Still the paintaloosa continued to back step, although with less haste than she initially had.

The question however was a strange one she wasn't expecting, and briefly she paused to consider it; a wary eye still on the golden mare. She did in fact get into quite a few fights, most of them were enjoyable even when she was angry, but then Mec simply loved exchanging blows with willing opponents. Still, she wasn't satsified with a simple yes or no answer. "Yes, but its better than allowing others to walk all over me like a spineless coward." Like her pathetic sire. Absent-mindedly the mare backed another step; having momentarily been distracted.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 16, 2009 4:47 pm

Had Storm felt particularly pretentious she would have added a 'Good Girl' as Mecriana backed that final step. She did not, however.

Instead she grinned as the mare shot her firey bullets even after backing down so quickly.

"Hm," she drawled, clicking her tongue on the roof of her mouth and tossing her mane out of her eyes. It was much too long, but there was nothing she could do about that.

"Well, you're not dead yet, so you must be doing something right." Credit where credit was due. It was the way of things, and she doubt Mecriana had any sort of revenge on her mind. Storm wasn't walking all over, nor did she had any intention to. This mare, for now, was worthless to her.

"You must be better with those that use the air to their advantage, as you clearly can't fly very well." And clearly couldn't fight very well on the ground.

Sarcasm was usually difficult for her to detect, but in this special instance Mecriana was aware of the fact she couldn't fly very well. The paintaloosa was a fan of both fighting and arguing, but even she could see it was pointless in this situation; after all she had already conceeded the physical fight to the golden mare and she didn't think she had the endurance to go another round after both of the previous brawls. Very clearly the ground had won the first one.

A final flick of her tail and the scrappy young mare turned to the side, breaking the face-to-face situation that made it tempting to start another 'oops'. "You fight well, Dappleass," she replied in a parting statement. Although it was a compliment, she added in the little nickname for the otherwise nameless mare. Surely any other circumstance she would have loved to fight someone as challenging as Storm; even if she lost. As it was though, Mec was done with the encounter and was ready to pick up her loses.
