So... everyone has a favored style of art... painting, sketching, anime, pen and ink, realism, surrealism.... tracing other pictures and adding funny things to them... >.>;

Um..... traditional painting or drawing, sketching, digital work, anime mostly, trying to learn mor realism...
Surrealism is awesome, I just can't do it.
Not creative = Me.
So anyway, *goes off to start discussion topic on tracing*

Yes... Gestural art is akin to carving a drawing out of paper via many short strokes of the pencil. Surreal is art, out of the ordinary... an example is M.C. Escher's work, or the melting clock paintings (Salvador Dali I think it was... but I'm awful with artist names).
So Dracs, whats your style?

I didn't ask you for a definition. I just don't think gestural is art. Foundation for art...but art it self...no.
I suppose I am a surrealist, i work with superflat i suppose. Though most of my work these days is simply concept art.

Not when its just to berate one's way of approaching art. People that feel the need to try and break down, or even cast aside that which others do with little or no reason to, other than self-importance and the measuring of an e-peen, completely ruin a constructive community. What i would LOVE to see, Dracs, is some of your work. Post your deviantart link, or toss up some pics. I've seen the one you have in the Arena, I would like to see more of your style. (That pic of yours has a very brooding, emo feel to it, with a dash of the classic early 1900's gentleman ambience, btw. Very nice.)

I just wanted to be harsh against you cause i got tired of being a nice guy here. You're right what I said earlier was not constructive at all. I don't have a deviant art profile.
