 Days were hotter and longer, this is how Akuba liked it, he had the 'cold' winter colours, and his coat attracted alot of heat, apart from the silvery-white stripes that cooled him during the summer. He had a new look and was happy to show it off. So he started doing a models walk, head held high, in a horsey way.

 Her curled tail blew in the wind as she stepped out of the forest for the first time in a long time. Abeni adored the summer weather. Her pelt attracted the sun's warmth and she welcomed it. It had seemed like ages since she had felt its rays grace her cheeks. "Well, the sun's abscence is just a part of winter," she thought with a smile. She walked along the tree line so as to not stray too far from home.

Akuba continued strutting, thinking happy thoughts about his past summers and laughing to himself,"Ahhh,those where the days",Akuba stopped strutting, he cold see moving stripes, but he couldn't make out what it was because of a couple of bushes,"huh?"

While she walked she'd periodically pause and look out at the expanse of grass before her. At one point she looked out and actually saw movement besides the slightly swaying grasses. And this movement was not small nor medium, but rather large and familiar in shape. Her entire system of senses lept at the sight of another. Another who happened to share the same markings she wore. Straying away from the trees she headed towards the figure.

Akuba saw the figure move towards him, he stood his ground, it could be any animal. Dangerous maybe?
"Hello?",Akuba said putting on his manly and confident voice on.

His voice strartled her causing her to stop where she was. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. He is in fact a strangerer in a strange place. Something terrible could happen to her and no oone would know! Though as a natural reaction to a greeting Abeni replied. "H-hello." She was disappointed that her reply was stammered and weak, but as soon as she heard herself she pulled herself together and regained her composure.

Akuba continued walking towards the figure listening to it's stammering 'h-hello', this built up his confidence again, akuba russled past the bushes to see an amazing mare, she had stripes, not like his, but having stripes at all was a start.
"Um...Hi I am Akuba nice to meet you?"

She cleared the throat daintily like her mother had taught her and replied, "Hello Akuba. It is quite a delight to meet you. My name is Abeni." She added a smile in as a warm gesture.
However in her head she was marvelling at his color and markings. The only others she had seen such strange colors on were Joeri and his son, but she always thought it was because they were of different breeds. No, he hadn't wings or a strange horn or tail. He was just like her and the rest of her family. His coat was the color of lilacs and saphires but with snowy white markings that were familiar but yet different. He was a sight to see that was for certain.

Akuba sensed her pause but did not wish for it to go on,"I just thought you'd be a dangerous creature or something, love your stripes and your colours, i was scared that'd it'd be a tiger or something of the sort because your markings are like what you'd find on a tiger."

"Well if you haven't noticed," she started, slowly closing the gap between them, "you also have the markings of a tiger. Just not the same color." In her mind she laughed at the thought of her being a dangerous creature. She was the farthest from dangerous! His apparent awareness was endearing though and since Abeni was always thinking of everyone's future of course her first thought was that it was a good quality for a father to have.

"Royalty? Really?" Abeni had never met anyone with that type of importance. At least... she didn't think she had. She passed overr that thought to answer his question. "I was just taking a walk. I didn't realize how far away from home I'd gotten." She neglected to tell him that she was also looking for her younger sister who was morethan capable of taking care of herself. Abeni was just very protective of her.

"Do people often mistake you for royalty then?" She was unsure if the meaning behind the color was actually well known and she was just sheltered, making her feel slightly embarrassed in asking.
