Violet seemed to be etched in gold as the lion kept walking, his silver eyes on the distance as he seemed to be leading someone or something. Blood was marred across his snow colored muzzle, meshing in with the many scars that littered it as well.

It hadn't been a day just yet, but it had been close enough. The dawn was coming now, lighting his white fur a different color entirely as he soldiered along. The girl behind him had talked for a bit, however Akiiki's stolid silence had stopped this from happening after too long, something he was happy with as Okoth was harder to control at these times.

The further he was from water the harder it was to control his demonic side, the side he'd tried so hard to hide. It was leaking out around this female and her own demon. Why he had no clue, however it was happening and he wanted to ensure that it didn't happen any longer.

He just wanted to live in peace as it had been handed to him that he would be forbidden love like his family, like his friends.

Maso followed the male as the two moved away from the watering whole she limped as she looked onward cursing the demon in her as she let out a small mental growl. She was started to get more and more annoyed with Oni'awiti and she wasn't helping. It began to take more and more each time to took over to subdue her.

She then fell to the ground not able to walk another step. She looked to the male her eyes where weak as she growled softly. She then closed her eyes slowly then opened them once more the sun began to hit Ki making him glow with a odd allure light. She then panicked seeing another lion beside him made up of the sun raise. He looked evil and controlling. She then closed her eyes as she fell asleep.

"Akiiki..." She said softly before the could hands of sleep grasped her. She was out could but her breathing was normal and she was no longer bleeding. She then slowly began to stir waking late the next night. She let out a grown as her eyes looked to the stars above the two. She then began to slowly search around for the white and violet colored male.

He'd seen the lioness fall, yet he'd merely set down, waiting patiently for her to rise again. Which didn't happen. Maso was out cold, though Aki wasn't so fond of this place as a resting place. Clearly her body had different ideas.

Shaking his head, the white lion walked slowly over to her and lay down, his silver eyes watching steadily on the lightening horizon for predators that might ruin her sleep and his own watch.

~~~
Scarred chin moving as a tongue in a sleeping mouth ran across teeth the color of ivory piano keys after usage, the male was out like a light. Akiiki had laid next to her for the entire day, his body weary and his spirit entirely broken.
If he'd been in better shape he would never have fallen asleep next to a stranger in the middle of the savannah, no protection in sight, no way of knowing if he'd survive till the morning. But Akiiki was in terrible physical shape, mental having been destroyed years ago. The white and violet male was laid on his stomach beside Maso, his breath coming short and silently, his body not moving an inch, even the wind didn't rustle his overly abundant mane.
It was as if he were dead, though the rise and fall of his prominant ribcage showed otherwise.
The female growned as she woke. She looked to the male as she watched him for a few moment then a unimaginable large amount of fear began to stir inside her. Her breathing began to quicken as she crawled closer to the other male.
"Akiiki." She said softly as she moved her paw out nudging him.
"Hey wake up." She nudged him once more but this time a little harder. She then stood as she growled and moved over to face him.
"HEY!!!! YOU!" She yell in a semi roar. She growled as she flopped down she was getting mad and flusted as tears began to gather in her eyes.
"You are not suppose to do this." She said bluntly as she growled. "You where doing so well and now you go and die on me! An I haven't even known you that long! You would think this wouldn't bother me but never before have I meet someone simalure to me!" She kept yelling at him seeming to slowly feel better from getting some anger out at yell at a bod that looked quite lifeless to her.
With the violet mane down over his eyes, it was impossible for Maso to see that Akiiki's eyes had indeed opened. Her yelling and prodding had woken him instantly, but his body wasn't agreeing with him. It wasn't moving despite how much he wanted it to move. Wasn't even twitching.
Okoth was deep within him, laughing his furry a** off at Akiiki's misfortune, at having a female screaming at him and crying.
Okoth's voice was deep in his ears, but Aki ignored it.
Instead he sent a jolt of energy through his body by thinking of the worst possible thing he could find. Slowly he raised his body and then his head, silver eyes peering straight into the lioness' eyes, his voice a deep bell as it flowed from his scarred muzzle.
"Please stop screaming. You just needed to poke me again, I'm not a heavy sleeper." was the only response that Aki had for her.
Bones creaked and his stomach screamed, yet Aki managed to lift his head and peer about the cool savannah with clear eyes, looking for a good place to shelter down and sleep again. Maybe if he was lucky it WOULD be an eternal sleep and Okoth would go with him.
Maso said nothing as she looked to him completely stunned. she then nodded a little to his remarks. She then looked to his stomach as she let out a small smirk. She then began to walk off.
"Go find some shelter I'll be back shortly." She said as she stopped and looked back. "Don't think of leaving I'm a good tracker." She then took off running into the Savannah.
~~A few hours later~~
Maso came onto the shelter that Akiiki had picked as she let a large antelope drop off her back and rest at Akiiki feet. She then sat down as she began to groom her fur a little waiting for him to dig into the carcase she had brought him. Never before had she hunt for another never before had she grown attached to some one beside her adopted mother. Never had she been so eager to please another. She then looked to the male as she laid down and began to try and think of something to talk to him about.
His head had been laid on his paws when she'd come back. Though he saw her, Aki didn't truely feel up to eating from a little carcass of an antelope that he hadn't killed himself. It felt selfish to rely on a female to feed him, yet all he was was an emaciated skeleton of a male that didn't have enough meat on his bones to even catch something more than a hare.
What good was he other than to be waited on by a female, despite how it made him feel.
"Finally, something that females are good for. Feeding their men." Okoth said out loud, his eyes turning rose within Aki's very silver. "You're a pretty little thing, why can't you find a good male to feed like this? Barren, or just stupid?"
It was enough of a domination that Aki rolled his whole body over and cracked his head resoundingly against the nearest rock to him. The sound of skull hitting rock was enough to jar his whole body and the white and violet male simply lay there for the longest time.
Useless.... that's what he was.
Maso knowing full well there was a monster inside the male like herself did not comment to the monster males words. Though when she saw the violent act of smashing ones head into a rock she instant began to sympathize with the male even more.
She laid down as she slowly began to crawl over to him submissively as she began to groom her forehead where the he had hit his head. She closed her eyes as she did so as she began to deeply purr. Grooming had always been such a bonding and calming moment since it was one of a few rare little treats she remember her mother had done for her.
She let out a small whimper as she gave him a soft nuzzle before turning to the carcase she then dragged it over to him as she looked to the male the to the ground. She though desperately about leaving to go find herself some food but ended up moving over to him laying down as she began to lick her paws with no aim in cleaning them since it was not to long before she had been grooming herself before the incident broke out.
Usually not one for being touched or fauned on, Aki almost pulled away and spazzed when she started grooming his forehead. It was something he'd originally done with his mother and his brother, however he was much like his father in the respect that he wasn't one for physical attachments, for physical affection. His emotions were quite enough to show how much he cared about someone, though he was learning that this female thought differently, that she acted differently.
Not necisarily a bad thing, though Aki would have to talk to her one day about this touching thing if they continued to travel like this. If she decided it was best to say around.
Don't get your hopes up Aki, you know none of them ever stay. You're a monster.
Slowly his silver eyes turned to look at the antelope that she'd started dragging towards him once more. She seemed hungrier than he was, though his stomach was causing such a ruckus. It wasn't fair to her since she'd been the one to catch it.
"You eat first. You caught it. I'll eat whatever you don't." He said, his voice brass, full of trumpets and horns, a demand rather than a question or a suggestion.
"Well that just not right." Maso said sitting there looking at the meal before them. "I got it for you and it is yours." She said bluntly. Maso then looked to the sky as she took a deep breath staying some distance away from him.
"Besides I'm proably just gona have to get more anyways might as well start on that while I go get the other." She said as she began to stand and make her way out to get another meal but then stopped seeing the sudden change in atmosphere. It was dark...nighttime was never a good time to hunt. There was always so many things that could go wrong. She then looked back moving to the male.
"Ok how about this. we shair then what we have and then tomorrow at dawn we get more." Maso said as she looked to him then took the shuolder of the antelope and looked to the male asking for help to tear it apart.
"Can do it on my own." She said with her mouth full as Maso let out a playfull growl and moved into a hunched postion.
A frown worked it's way onto Akiiki's face. He didn't like being treated like a cub anymore. And he didn't like to talk to others as if they were either but she was making it hard for him to keep from doing it.
"I'm used to hunting at night. It suits me better. You eat this and I"ll go and get something for myself to eat. I've never been fed since I was a cub and I don't like the idea of it now that I'm an adult having been on my own since cub-hood."
His white paws were moving across the savannah ground only seconds after he'd spoken.
Something deep within him was screaming and he knew that Okoth's voice wasn't paired up with it. He'd trusted her for a moment... he knew that he wanted to help her given that her paw hurt... why couldn't he eat what she'd caught and just shut his damn yap for a moment? Why did he have to be so hard-headed? Was it because he was afraid to make a connection to another living lion that he shoved everyone away?
Was it because he was afraid he would hurt her if she got under his skin enough to touch the deep demon within him.
A sigh escaped his muzzle and he cast a silver glance back over his shoulder at her before she dissapeared from sight and Akiiki prayed that she would still be there when he got back.
Even if he was afraid to make a connection with others... he still admitted that some part of him felt like a little cub with a warm heart around her. It was... it was a nice feeling.
One he'd not had in a long long time.
The female only sighed and drooped the carcase. She then watched him leave grumping a little. Looking down to paw at a mostly round rock. She messed with it for the longest time waiting. Her stomach then growled as she looked to see if she could see him coming to return but there was nothing there.
"He did say I could have it but I'll only eat half like I said." She told herself with a nod beginning to move to the dead animal ripping open its stomach as she tore off a nice sized chunk and laid down. Maso held onto the piece between her paws eating with great care pulling off small pieces so not to choke herself.
She kept her eyes on the distance waiting for the white male to return. Time seemed to pass by quickly and she ate her fill witch happened to be just slight over have of the kill. Maso then looked to see where the moon was trying to see if she could give some estimate to herself to see how long he had been gone. Her eyes began to grow very heavy as she let out a small sigh then snuggled up around herself. She tried to keep her eyes open and looking to the shadow dark parts of night but nothing still. Her eyes finally got to heavy for her to handle falling into a deep sleep tried for the previous days sun.
Hours passed before Akiiki's ghostly paws walked back within view of Maso's vision. The still evening sun was just starting to set as he was walking back, cleaned of the blood he'd spilled while he'd been out hunting.
After being alone for so long he'd gotten the lay of the land very quickly and managed to find all the watering holes that a bachlore lion could ever need. Certainly he wasn't hurting for knowledge of his surroundings.
With an inaudiable flop, Akiiki laid down on the grass a decent distance from Maso, just enough to seem respectful and wary rather than impolite and rudely suggestive. He didn't want to be too far away and have her think him cruel and not welcoming.. but he also didn't want to be too close... ever.
"Sorry... I took longer than I meant to take. Seems game is a bit thin in these areas right now." His silver eyes were shaded by long lashes, giving him a tired look despite how ready he was for anything. Even if he was around a female like this, he still had to be on edge. He wanted to protect her as much as he could though he knew that wasn't his right. All the same though...
He'd hurt so many that he wanted to make it up.
The female opened her eyes finally as looked to the male walking up. She let out a weak smile as she slowly pushed herself up. "No big deal." She said as she looked to him then to the sky. "Mmm you did take some time." She said let out a little smirk.
"I knew you should have just sheared with me." She said sitting up fully looking back to the male finally as she closed her eyes the slowly opened them.
"So tell me...What do your dream to be?" She said randomly but the dream she had awhile waiting for him lead to this question course it was personally and portably should have waited to know him a little more but where was the fun in that?
She moved her fount legs out stretching as her upper body lowered to the ground as her backside moved to the sky as her tail seemed to stretch out with her. She then righted herself and then began to massage her paws into the dry desertesic dirt.
Letting slide the comment that he merely should have relied upon her for his meal, Akiiki heaved a heavy sigh, letting it out in a puff of mist from his muzzle despite the warmth of the savannah night pressing upon them. His outside seemed normal but his inside was chilled, just as his fathers, just as his demon's half.
An icy heart in a snowy body.
"Me? I've simply the dream to survive until tomorrow. The dream to see this demon gone forever. I had dreams in the past, but they were dashed and shattered when I realized none would enjoy the company of something like myself." Akiiki's voice sounded like a blue voiced woodwind, chiming out his sadness in the rich tones of sadness itself.
Silver eyes turned upon her moving frame to watch silently as she twisted and stretched. So young, much younger than he was. Why was someone so young cursed with a demon like himself, a demon that was hard to control and even more dificult to predict? It must have been that the gods themselves, even his father, had turned their eyes from the two lions upon the savannah down below them.
Sometimes it hurt to think that even his own father might have shaded his eyes to his son's pain.
