I wasn't aware of this. The pic thats on the home page of MR showed me. I like hurdy gurdys a lot. They are quite expensive though. Uh, I think I made this thread because I wanted to have one to discuss hurdy gurdys. Lets talk about them and how they cost too damn much.

Warrior of Metal Man, the girl who plays that is cute. I was very interested in the instrument when I saw it. How does it work? Well, hurdy gurdy's are one of the very few instruements that are called String but use keys to play notes. You have to spin a little handle on the side of it, which spins a wheel. This wheel makes contact with the strings which apparently creates sound. The artist then presses on the keys to change the sound. This guy is pretty good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Koh8M2v3RYI think the song title translates into "Going into sky, Our Lords". Voznesenie is a Russian metaphor for spiritual enlightment. It's usually is used when refering to Christ passing into heaven.

An interesting instrument. I don't particularly care for the clicking sound, but the sound from the strings is good.
