Moto'nyota stretched and shook herself. The lingering scent of water from a rare morning mist hung in the air, though with the rising heat of the day, it threatened to vanish in an instant. But for now...it remained. The lioness trotted out of the hole she'd slept in the night before, paws getting covered in moist dirt. A morning like this meant prey was about.

She smiled. Breakfast time.

He was small compared to most of his siblings, slender and long legged rather than stout and strong, this meant unfortunately, that he was bullied by his siblings. He usually found solice by finding a herd of wilderbeasts, or antelope, or maybe a few zebra and spending some time in their ranks. He'd found himself amongst a small herd of sable antelope today, he knew he was named after these noble creatures and he liked that, even though they were the stabe diet of alot of predators of the savannah.

He was laying quite happily next to one of the youngsters of the group, the little creature was scentless in it's form and he mimiced it to become invisable almost.

His small ears twitched, and twirled though and he lifted his head, someone was coming. He froze, still as he could and hoped the herd would scatter, would runa nd he'd still be invisable. He didn't wanna be eated!

Moto lay crouched in the grasses, eyes locked on the antelope before her. There was one adult that straggled from the rest, a male. He'd be just fine to go after. Moto made it a habit to never go after the mothers or children. Creeping closer, she sprung. The herd scattered and she'd found herself with a meal. There were advantages to being large for a rogue.

Though she wanted to eat, there was something...off in the air. She blinked and flattened an ear, puzzled. Maybe there was another lion downwind? Or one of the little ones hadn't fled with its mother.

"Hello? If you're a little one, I'm not going to hurt you. If you're another predator, I'm willing to share."

Palahala swallowed hard. She'd discovered him and without the cover of the herd he was vulnerable. The female seemed to be fairly friendly though and she'd said she wouldn't eat him.

Still, he felt afraid, what if she was palying a trick on him and he would become desert? his dark, doe like eyes widened as he waited for a moment longer before he knew he must move to reveal himself.

Crawling for a few seconds before his tiny hooved fore feet forced him to stand he trotted through the long crass carefully and as quietly as possible. peeping through the tand fronds the little cub looked at the lioness and gulped before speaking. "You promise you won't eat me?" he whispers, averting his gaze from the downed antelope. he hated to see those of his domain lying dead.

Moto blinked at the little one that revealed himself. He...had wings. And horns, and hooves instead of paws on his front legs. That was quite confusing. She saw that the poor thing was scared out of his wits of her, so she smiled gently. "I promise, little one." Maybe he'd been raised by the antelope? After all...he looked a little like them...but he also looked very much like a lion. She was highly confused.

She laid down, so she wouldn't seem quite as large as she was. "I only eat those adult males who stray from the herd, or those who are old and frail. Little ones deserve to live a full life." Any little one deserved to live before dying.

Still the little godling hung back tapping his tiny hooves on the ground, clearly nervous to be around a mortal lion whom he thougth may attack and eat him. his small, high ears swivelled turning to listen for anyone else approaching, his eyes wide and doe like showing clearly the fear he had.

"I..I guess everyone has to eat." he swallowed hard his eyes clarly avoiding making any contact at all with the dead creature, "I'd ttast horible any way..I promise.." He squeeked in a sort of pleeing frightened voice. "I dun wanna be eated." he pouts llooking at the large lioness farefully.

The little one was still afraid of her...oh boy...

"Dear, I'm not going to eat you." She chuckled. "Though I wonder what you eat. You look like a lion cub...but you also don't." She kept a soft smile on her face. "And if you'd like...I can move, to make things easier on you..." The poor thing seemed to be trying so hard not to look at her kill. She'd never seen anything feline look so...sad, over a kill.

"Wull..I..i'm not really a lion I don't think..I'm a god..well..a god cub, mama says I'll grow up and be a real god though, thats what mama says." He gulps once again. "S'long as I don't get eated of course." He once again sounded pleading, still clearly afraid that the rather large rogue was going to make a meal out of his little fuzzy body.

He glanced towards the antelope and turned away quickly. he didn't like to see it lying there all dead. He didn't want to be all dead and getting eaten! What had he gotten himself in to today? he was gunna get eaten and his mother and father would never know! If he made it through this he swore he wouldn't wander off again..well maybe only with zebras, he liked sebras they were stripey...He shook his head taking his mind off zebras. He was going to get eaten and he was thinking about running with zebra.

A...god? She had never realized gods could be cubs. She got up and moved a little away, so the little god wouldn't have to look at the antelope. "What are you god of?" With the way he'd been acting, she could hazard a guess...but Moto thought it better to ask.

"And I'm still not going to eat you. Especially not now. As irreverent of the gods as I am, I'm not stupid enough to risk the wrath of a mother. And I'm certain your mother must be a good one." She chuckled. She wasn't certain, really...but she wanted to make the little god feel better. "My name's Moto'nyota, by the way."

As the female moved slightly he tenced and looked as if he must bolt but her shifting away from him made his tiny mucles relax. he tooka long deep breath and looked at the lioness now that the dead antelope was out of his line of sight. "I'm the god of prey, and yes, my mama is very good, she's the goddess of obedience and my papa is the god of famine." He smiled lightly. "I just, I like to spend time in the herds, it's alot of fun.." He looked at his tiny, shiny hooves nervously. "I didn't means to wander so far tho." he whispers, almost guiltily.

"My names Palahala, it's..well I'm named after the sable antelope.." he mutters his gaze lingering for a moment on the dead creature, he didn't want to see it any more he felt so sorry for the poor beast, even though he knew that others must eat, mortals must eat, hehated to see the beasts he so enjoyed playing with dead and waiting to be snacked upon.

Moto now understood why the little one was acting as he did. "Well, Palahala...I'm very sorry you had to be here when I needed to eat." She tried to give him a reassuring smile. "I...I try to be swift. I'm a healer, so I'm not fond of causing pain."

She thought for a moment, then nodded. "Maybe it's best you go back to your mother now. I'm sure, if you wandered too far, she's worried about you. I know I would be." She would stay where she was until Palahala left...

Then she'd eat.

Palahala almost smiled as the other appologised. "It's..it's okay..I understand you need to eat.." he whispered, he understood his domain well, even though he hated to see his friends be killed, he knew it was part of the circle of life, they had to die so other mortals could live and they were never killed unless the predators were hungry.

"Yes..I suppose I should." He glanced at the very large female once again, he longed to just go and rejoin the herd, but it ws getting late and he didn't want his mother to worry.

He took a careful step backwards. "Good bye.." He blinked owlishly before he turned and bolted off through the grass only the movements of the fronds showing where he was running. Clearly this had been a close encounter. he hadn't been eaten, it was definately a mirricle.

Moto smiled as the young god ran off. As much as she loved little ones, she was starting to get hungrier. So once she couldn't see the grass moving from his movements, she trotted back over to her kill, batting away a vulture who had tried snagging it. Breakfast time.
