I don't see too much discussion about this here, but do very many of you like sewing up your own clothes for your dolls? I'm in the middle of a sewing frenzy right now making clothes for my doll (and a little bit for sellin'). Anyway I'm interested in chatting with other dolly seamstresses and seeing your work. :3 My latest shirt is here: http://www.genkigirl.com/sharedimages/vnecksmall.jpgI managed to have a stroke of good luck finding remnants at JoAnns the other day, which is where I got that funky print for the front.

Lol i just applied for a job there yesterday. I do a mix of home made and purchased clothes. I think i'll sew more when i get my SD simply because the bigger size will make it a lot easier (currently have an msd). It's a really great way to recycle old clothes.

Yeah, I recycle a lot of my old jeans and stuff. I've even started asking my family if they have any old clothes they are going to give away or throw out!

@ryog wolves: That dress looks cute! I'm sure the strawberry pattern looks very cute in person. Where did you manage to find such a tiny print?
@Soul_Syryn: I think DA must hate me today because it won't let me load half of your images....XP However from what I was able to see, it looks pretty cute! I'd like to make some jewelry myself some day, but sadly I lack the funds to get the supplies I want.

I've just started making clothes for my dolls, but all mine are 26-27cm. I've made a Wa Lolita outfit and am working on a Steampunk outfit for one of my girls this week. little koi fishy sorry but tauting your own business is against ToS First of all, it's "touting," and secondly, it's not against the ToS to mention, or even link to an off-site shop or business of any kind. Unsolicited advertising is against the ToS, but posting a thread about homemade clothing sites in a thread about homemade clothes is no different than posting links to doll manufacturers in a thread about dolls.

little koi fishy sorry but tauting your own business is against ToS Talking about the fact that you make cloths for yourself (and some for selling) is hardly the same as advertising your business. 'Specially since she didn't give a link to where you can buy them. 3nodding I keep thinking about buying a body so i can go ahead and sew now, and then get my head. xd But I'd rather get my doll all in one piece, which means saving more for the head and makeup.

Do you know anyone around you who already owns a doll in the size you think you might like? I'm going to be housesitting for a friend of mine soon, and I'm going to measure her boy to draft some patterns, since I don't have any large dolls, but I want to sew for them, because I've been told it's easier/faster than sewing smaller (plus, you know, money...). But if you could just measure one, or better yet, borrow someone's for a day or so, you could probably get the basic idea of how to measure/cut/shape/etc. for the doll you'll eventually buy?

I have a friend with some, but I don't get to see her often. She has volks littles, and from what i understand, Luts littles have noticably different bodies. Next time we hang out i intend to make a dress form for at least one of her dolls.

A pattern swap is an excellent idea. I have some things Iv made mostly for my partners doll thought. I need to take pics. I am working on making my own dolls so I cant really do a lot of stuff till they are done.
