A thunderstorm rolled into Barton in the late afternoon, trapping Shouko and Teagan inside of the Project house. Shouko dragged the lemur man out of hiding every once in a while to help her out with stuff, but it didn't seem to help his dismal outlook on life from where she was standing.
She was seated at the administrative desk working on paperwork when...
...drip....drip...drip...
She looked up and saw water leaking from a spot on the ceiling down to her desk. The house wasn't totally fixed yet, then. Sighing, Shouko pulled her wastebasket onto the desk and positioned it under the drip.
"Tea?" she called. "The roof's leaking again!"

"I'm coming," the teenager groaned, pulling the blanket down off of his head. As he did another rumble of thunder came through and his ears shot back against his head. He shivered, not from cold but from sheer terror that nature did things like this. Rain he could handle, but giant flashes of light and noise that could kill someone? Not cool. He grabbed his makeshift toolbelt from the kitchen counter and pulled it tight around his waist before shuffling along the walls to the office. Once inside he cringed at the dark spot on the ceiling, realizing that the problem was on the roof. "Can it wait till after the storm?" he begged, feeling the hair on his tail bristle.

Breath. Slowly. Don't. Be. Stupid.
Tyyne told herself as she managed her way through the thunderstorm. It had been an awful bus-trip and now the weather was reflecting her soul's uncertainty. Her wet golden hair stood out against the darkness around her as she approached the well-known building. She knew it's shape so damn well. Lena had taken her here for hours when she was young and her mother had to organise stuff. Now everything had changed.
But at the same time it was awfully familiar to her and made her heart sting in woefulness. Although she had been inclined with celebrities and TV shows, Tyyne wasn't a dreamer. She knew somebody was inside, because she had recognised the light shining out of the windows. At that made her heart jump and pucker at once.
Water dripped down her pale face as she was confronted with the main entrance. She wasn't able to do it. Rain poured down on that miserable, shaking wretch that she had become.
But she didn't dare to enter the home she once knew.

"Yeah, I guess it can," sighed Shouko sympathetically as she picked up her work and stalked over to the table to continue. She didn't blame Tea for sounding a bit scared. The weather had everyone on edge, sunny one minute and dark and stormy the next. But the rain on the roof was steady. This would go on for a while.
She twirled her pencil and tried to concentrate on the papers in front of her. It had been difficult lately to keep track of which child had wound up where, but she finally thought she had everything straightened out and was updating the files to suit. She flipped a page and frowned.
It was Tyyne's file. Shouko shook her head and set it aside. She still hadn't heard anything about the daisy girl. It made her worry. It made her sad.

Teagan smiled a weak thanks, replacing the trashcan with a thick metal bucket. It would hold until the storm stopped. With that done he wiped his hands on his jeans and glanced out to the front room. There was something at the door. Goosebumps rose up over his skin. He couldn't make out what it was through the fog and the rain, but it wasn't moving. "Shouko," he hissed quietly, trying to avert his eyes to something above the door, "Shouko I think there's something trying to get in."

"Um..." Tyyne bit her lower lip. She heard hushed voices inside, but wasn't able to recognise them through the door. What if Lena was inside? No...that wasn't possible.
But what about Teagan or Shouko? Her heart started to race as if it was haunted by something horrible. She should be happy about that, right? The teen had been longing to meet them for such a long time and know she was scared to find out who was behind this door.
She tried to swallow her fear and very slightly knocked against the door. Keep breathing, Tyyne. The rain made her feel even more miserable. Hopefully it would only be a little kid, somebody she didn't know. They would hate her. She had just disappeared and she couldn't explain it. Tyyne was filled with fear and simply stared at the object in front of her.

"What?" asked Shouko, looking up. "Let them in, then!" she cried. "This weather's awful!"
When it became quite clear Teagan was not going to move to open the door, she got up and crossed the room to do it herself. When she opened it, a momentary burst of wind and rain blew into the building. Shouko blinked at the girl who stood outside like something out of a dream.
"Tyyne?" she asked, and ushered the girl in.
"Tea, get her a towel!"

Teagan froze, his face flushed red. "I-" he started, then remembered the weather. Towel, right. He crashed around the project house until he managed to find one in the kitchen cabinet. Shaking, he held it out to Tyyne at arm's length, unsure whether or not she was real. "So you're alive then," he said, instantly regretting the way he had said it, "I mean, you're alright. We were.. Worried." The thought that she was here now had him dazed.

Tyyne felt like she had to run away as the door was opened. But as she recognised the pink-haired girl, who ushered her inside, a warm feeling started to revive her heart. "Shouko!" She exclaimed.
The friend had changed. She looked much more mature now. Memories started to fade into Tyyne's mind as she moved into the well-known building. They had been such good friends. Were they still?
Golden eyes turned as she heard the second name, which had been so dear to her before. Teagan...
Tyyne's eyes became watery as she gladly accepted the towel. His tone was so...bitter. Cringing slightly she tried to dry her hair a bit and told herself to calm down. It had to be a strange coincidence that both of her best friends were here.
Teagan looked a bit more scruffy than she had remembered him, but still there was this strange feeling inside of her stomach.
"I don't know what happened." There. Now she had mentioned it. Frowning slightly she turned to Shouko before looking back at Teagan.

"No?" asked Shouko, wrapping an arm around her friend's shoulder and guiding her over to a chair. Tyyne had been gone so long... She seemed fragile, like she would break any second.
"Just sit here for a bit and dry off. How long were you out in the rain? I'll make you some tea..."
She backed away slowly towards the kitchen, catching Teagan's gaze in the process. She shot him a look that clearly said 'don't talk about us.'

Teagan might not have been all that bright, but not to tell her what had transpired between himself and Shouko was something he already knew. "Can I get you anything?" He asked, trying to sound warm. It wasn't that he was angry with her, he just didn't quite know how to respond to her coming back so suddenly.

Tyyne felt save as Shouko guided her. She knew that the pink-haired girl always had been the stronger one. "I was in Eden." The teenager tried to explain while staring at her fingernails. "But I don't know what happened there...I just arrived back and Lena was gone..."
Suddenly she noticed that the situation had to be just as awkward for the others and just nodded slightly. "Tea is great." Turning to Teagan she looked at him for a while before lowering her eyes again. There were definately more important things than thinking about him right now. Biting her lower lip she tried to make some conversation. "Did you...I mean...it look neat here!"

"It's a work in progress," answered Shouko when she returned with a mug of tea. She set it on the table beside Tyyne. "Let that brew for a bit," she added, looking around the room.
"When I got back from Eden there wasn't anyone here," she explained. "And there, uh... hadn't been anyone here for a long time. Teagan and I have been working on fixing things up."

He nodded, feeling a little uncomfortable with both of them in the room. "I just finished fixing the greenhouse," he said shyly, "But this rain's probably broken a few panes." His instincts told him to hide and let them fight it out between themselves, but that wasn't exactly fitting behavior. Besides, there was nowhere to hide that Shouko wouldn't be able to find him. Something about the situation, aside from the tension, was getting to him, "How did you get out?"

Tyyne smiled slightly as the tea was put beside her. "Thank you." She did notice the tension in the air and assumed that it was her fault. Her fingers were nervously intertwined as she nodded slightly. "I'm sorry for everything that happened. You did a great job here...did more children come?"
Having turned to Shouko for the previous question she almost burried herself under the towel then and glanced at Teagan. "I don't know. Everytime I try to think about it, it's just...blocked. I just woke up in our backyard. Somebody found me on the street as I moved around without orentation and I was brought to that therapist, who organised a flat for me...I'm getting a bit of help."
So many words. Tyyne's eyes became watery as she looked at her friends. Shouko was still standing close so she was quickly embraced and hugged tightly by Tyyne.
