Cubs. Lord. Lady. Pride. House. Members... so much to do and so little free time to do so. If he was lazy as his meerkat friend had thought he was, he would have simply sent the rodent off to retrieve the few members he ... "desperately" needed. To his knowledge, he could recall only two being very close by to where he was, but what troubled him was... where they willing to join a newly formed Pride and if they were still there to begin with. Sheng Kou, as his pridal name was, raced down the highlands and into the rolling savanna, his first target was that male; Ushu.
He didn't know too much about him, but he seemed like a survivalist and if he kept on living as he was when he first met him, he may end up dead not too long after. Sheng could only hope that he is still alive and well, at least enough to be beat around a little. The Lord did need someone to talk to and who would be better than another adult male such as the younger lion?
With a mighty roar, his search began and the timer started. He could not leave his mate, his House, nor his cubs for too long.

Ushu's head lifted as his ears perked, hearing something on the wind. There was someone coming... great paws slapping the earth. Over the weeks he'd been alone, Sheng's words had prompted him to take more control over himself and careful living had seen him filling out again, coming back into his full size. Now though, it wasn't the softness he'd had before, but a leanness, a fitness he hadn't had before.
Rising up to his full height, he waited with anticipation to see who it was. Friend or enemy? Someone stronger or weaker than he was? Someone he might know? Red eyes squinted into the distrance, catching a moving red blob that made his eyes widen. Was that....?

The scent was clear in the air, it certainly was the one he was seeking. Sharp eyes easily picked out the male in the distance, slowly decreasing in speed to stop nicely before him. He stood at his full height; head held high, chest out and legs spaced evenly apart to hold him up. Green eyes gazed down at him with a slight smirk. Well, well, it seems he was growing up just fine. Looks a little better than last time. the male thought to himself.
"So you still stuck around here, haven't you, my friend? It also seems you have been taking very good care of yourself too; good hunting lately?" The large male questioned, shifting his gaze around some, turning himself away from the other male to walk about. The air was clean and clear, the savanna was wide as the eyes could see until the highlands disrupted the rolling grasslands. It was a wonderful place to hunt and live where the highlands gave protection.
"Some things have come up."

Ushu shifted as Sheng came dashing up, stopping neatly before him. He blinked and smiled slowly, red eyes tracking Sheng as he moved around, taking a look where the younger male had been living for a while now. His smile turned a little embarassed at the compliment, the fact that the larger red male had noticed his improvement. He shifted his paws, brushing one in the dirt.
"Um... yeah. I just didn't want you to see me like that and think that's the way I am... 'cause its not. This is more what I'm really like and I wanted to show that to you." He nodded as his tail flicked genlty and he blinked, looking around him with Sheng. "Uh, yeah... the prey's good here, especially since I'm the only one I see hunting most times.... well, except for this lioness. I see her now and then."
He blinked at the last part, tilting his head. "Come up? Is that what brought you here?"

"Except for this lioness" . . . Does he mean Adia'dafina? he thought to himself. It would not be too much of a surprise as she was pregnant when he left her. She might have had her litter and hunting for their nurtrients. That also reminded him to find her as well, her cubs may have grown some. Even he cannot deny that he was curious. With his own cubs back home, resting against their mother, he was a bit fond of the balls of fur. Born from the loins of lovers.
Sheng looked over his shoulder with a bit of a glare. "You didn't want me to see you like that? You misjudged me, Ushu. I don't judge others on first impressions, though I tend to feel that my own has an effect, others do not hold much on me. It is the reoccuring factor that affects my judgement. You have worked hard since I had first met you. The second time, you already showed improvements but it was the submissive behaviors that you carried then that rubbed me the wrong way. But your sudden shift to dominance was rather... bold but impressive. Just know I did not think that was the way you were," he paused and turned back to look ahead. "At least you were able to show me."
With a deep breath he turned back to the youthful adult with a more regal aura.
"I have been proclaimed Lord to the nearby pride of Tianxia. With my mate as my Lady, we rule the northern region of the Ethiopian Highlands. We call it the North House. With the three princes and two princesses, we have established our royal line. With five cubs and only two adults, which whom have plenty of obligations to attend to, we cannot watch over our cubs as easily as others. As a newly started pride, I have duties to attend to as does my mate and that may leave the cubs unattended to... do as they please," he smirked. "I have came before you to request you presence in my House as our Royal Guard and my own Supervisor. If you so accept my offer, I will speak more, otherwise, I have another member to seek out."
He paused to let it all sink in for the lion. He was throwing it all on too quickly.
"Do you accept my offer, Ushu?"

The tan male smiled as he rolled his shoulders, rather proud of the lean, fit body he now wore. "Still... even if you don't care, I did... I'd rather you know me for how I am than how I looked before." He shook his head as he listened to Sheng, perking up at finding that this powerful male had become a Lord. It wasn't that suprising... he seemed the type to be the king of a pride.
He blinked at the news of cubs, which he'd known were coming, but the sudden offer... that took him by surprise. "Y-You want me as a guard and supervisor?" He gasped out, his eyes wide and surprise in his expression. "I... I'd be... honored." He said softly as he bowed his head. "I wanted a place to belong and... I would be happy to serve you."

"Be as it may, you did well to do so for if you were not in good condition, I would not have offered such a position for you in my area of the pride," he smiled, a rare expression. He was glad that he found someone to join his House, he had some trust in this male, just enough to allow him to come within range with his cubs and his mate, then again, this one was not stupid enough to do anything. He knew how strong he was and how quick he would drive his claws deep into flesh and bone if he were cross.
"I am glad you have accepted my offer, Ushu. You are the first member of my home."
He turned away again with that same smile.
"My House is symbolized by strength, fits me perfectly, doesn't it? So I expect you to work harder to keep your form and your wits about you. If we are attacked, I would expect you to jump at the chance to defend the place you shall soon call home," he smirked. "And the cubs you will be in charge of, all five of them."

Ushu straightened up, feeling his chest swell with pride. Strength.... yes, it seemed to fit perfectly. It had always been his goal, to be strong. To find a place that was built on it... it was like a good omen.
"I won't let you down, Trigger! I will do my utmost, even give my life if I have to." He said as he stepped forward, sincerity in every line of his form. It was like a gift from heaven, this position in a pride after he'd fled from the one he was born in. He found himself admiring Sheng more and more, his feeling of loyalty growing. He'd make a place for himself, instead of just being born into it. He'd support himself and do his duty, and it would be enough.

"I suggest you come up with a new name for yourself here, Ushu, I do not go by "Trigger" or "Moto'vianzio" within the House's walls. I am simply known as "Sheng Kou", or Sheng if you wish. Do not address me otherwise unless we are by ourselves or outside the walls," Sheng lowered his head with a smirk. He'll get used to it.
Looking up to the sky, it seemed it was about time to push the first task upon Ushu as the Royal Guard and Supervisor. More the Guard part than the latter. "It is getting later in the afternoon, it seems the cubs will be hungry and that means my mate must eat. Shall we start off on our hunt? I am interested in what you can do and how well your knowledge is of the area and the game it holds."

A new name? The idea was a strange one to the male, who had forever been known as Ushukuru to everyone, and especially to himself. But... It was Ushukuru who had gotten Mut pregnant and left her with the cubs. It had been Ushu that had fled the Pridelands in shame. Now, he was being offered a new life, a fresh start... and a place of honor.
His face brightened as he straightened up, saluting Sheng with a bow of his head. "I'll have to think on it. A name is an important thing." And indeed it would be. His new name would mark a turning point in his life and it needed to be something fitting, not chosen lightly.
Red eyes blinked at the offer to hunt, a smile curling over his face as he nodded vigorously. "Yes! I know just the place to start the hunt." He laughed as he turned, glancing over his shoulder at Trigger before he set off in a brisk trot. Things were looking up.

"You will have plenty of time. You will be the first outside whom we have invited into our home. Best feel honored or I shall make you regret it," Sheng gave a bass laugh as he pushed past Ushu as if to challenge him in power. It was obvious that when it came to authority, Sheng had it when Ushu had agreed to join his house. As to whom had the physical strength, it depends on whom one is thinking. When it came to the mental state, even Sheng would admit defeat.
"Reminds me, we should work out a salute..." he chuckled. "And a name is a very important thing, especially since it is to satisfy the emperor and the empress, don't disappoint them. And if you are smart, stay on my mate's good side." Sheng was very pleased with house Ushu was taking all of this. He had the makings of becoming something great, perhaps greater. He could not see it just yet, but the gut feeling was there.
Sheng smirked and walked briskly beside him, tempting to dart off. "Well then, show your Lord what you can offer to your new pride!" With a mighty roar, one of pride and power, he made a mad dash into the open savanna with his new guard, his new advisor, his new pride member, and a new friend.
